Elle, the Maenad part in the books was incredibly minor, and because they decided to take it where they did with blowing up that part, the show is INCREDIBLY different from the books. In the aspect that it keeps the show different from the books, and by already reading the books, I don''t actually know what will happen in the show--it''s good. But they went the wrong damn way with it. By the looks of the finale, I am hoping that they are going back to the basics of the books, because if they keep changing the storyline to something as big and drawn out as they made the maenad storyline to be, I don''t know that they will keep it around for all that long. It deviated from Sookie too much, and Tara/Eggs/Maryann became the focal point, which is stupid. Also, Tara is hardly in the first 2 books, and she has to take a HUGE leap to get where she is now to where she is in the third and later books.
I am hoping it goes back to being like the book. Mostly because I love the books, BUT also because Eric becomes more prominent. And ILURVEEric. So I''m cautiously interested still...
