He only spoiled a bit of my good mood by having the usual talk before he leaves:

Him: So we''re concerned that the office not be empty while I''m gone.
Me: Othey guy is here, I''m here. It''ll be fine.
Him: Other guy is concerned that you need to be available since he may or may not want you to come in some Fridays.
Me: I''m around. (extra hours, yay!)
Him: We''re concerned and want to make sure that none of your "holidays" get in the way. We need to know far in advance and they might be inconvenient and we need you to be here.
Me: (smiling) The next holiday isn''t until after you are back.

Me thinking: I hate it here. It is convenient for taking classes. I got a raise and STILL made less this year than last year. It is convenient for classes...

Tell them to check a damn calendar. Its not that complicated.

I told him I''d make a calendar for him

so he can know the whole year of holidays.

Better still, I can hang it up in back and he can mark his vacations on the calendar so we know when he''ll be gone and we need to be around.

(The other guy thinks this is great -- I said what he has always wanted to)
