The LIW Small Talk Thread

Gmorning, everyone!

In the office now and not wanting to work at all. Shocking, right?
23.gif

Turns out not one, but two sets of friends got engaged this weekend. Still waiting for details on one, but the other took her on a trip to Vegas and proposed after taking a helicoptor trip to the Grand Canyon, landing there, and taking horses down into the Canyon to the proposal spot. Haven''t seen the ring in person yet...but it looks pretty.

I''m kinda enjoying the anticipation. Driving me a bit nutso, too...but most of the time I enjoy it!

Now to see if newly-engaged friend needs help wedding planning!!!

(Other newly engaged friends will be doing a DW, so they won''t need help, lol.)

The anticipation is a lot more enjoyable when you KNOW the ring is made or almost done. Then you''re 100% sure its coming and can sit back and wait. The anticipation sucked when we were looking at rings, but I knew that nothing was happening yet. It made me upset because I wondered why he was not taking it seriously when we were ring shopping together!

I *knew* what night it was going to happen. My spidey senses kicked in. There''s a post from that day about how I was SO sure it wouldnt happen, but had a feeling it would. Funny.

HH, morning wife! Sorry you''re feeling bad. If you want me to start having sympathy sickness, I''ll do my best.

He claims I have an attitude problem lately and flipped out at me about it last night. It''s one of those things where I swear he''s imagining it, I have no clue what my tone sounds like, sometimes he even takes me being quiet as me being pissed off at the world. I''m sure it''s all hormones, but I hate using that as an excuse and I feel like he just doesn''t ''get'' that I don''t realize I''m doing it. Believe me, if I knew I was doing it I''d work on it and change, but I don''t realize it until it''s too late and he''s pissed off. **sigh**

It''s like I can''t win with him. I''m quiet to keep from setting him off, and he thinks I''m pissy; or I''m my normal self and he thinks I''m pissy. I just can''t win.

Gah that sucks HH. I know you cant use hormones as an excuse for everyone (gotta save that excuse for when you really need it!) but he needs to back off a bit too. You ARE pregnant, and those hormones DO cause issues. Plus he may be reading into stuff because he knows that hormones can do it -- so he''s looking for it.

Bummer. I can still kick his butt if you want!

I wish there was something I could do!

I swear he thinks I''m using the hormone excuse to get away with being a beyotch. That''s really not the case at all, I''m not the type to make up excuses for bad behavior. I don''t even know what he''s talking about when he says I''m behaving badly either. It''s like a glance or a comment about something totally unrelated to anything sets him off. And it''s not like I''m milking the pg thing at all. All I''ve asked him to do is walk the dog (because I''ve almost fallen a few times with him recently), feed the cats (their food makes me gag) and chance the litter boxes (obv that''s a no-no for me right now). Obviously I''d do these things if I could, but at the moment I can''t. You''d think I was asking him to clean the house top to bottom every day while making every meal doing the grocery shopping, and working 10 hours a day while I sat on my ace eating bon-bons.

Man! Is he aware what the last trimester could be like as far as needing help?

You guys seriously need to talk. He''s reading into something, that''s for sure.

Agreed.

Maybe he needs to read a support book for husbands of pregnant wives. It just sounds like he thought all he was going to have to do is rub your tummy, feet, and shoulders from time to time and not have to deal with all the other stuff.

Maybe the anxiety of impending fatherhood is making him a little more touchy than usual. I''m sorry it''s been so frustrating, HH.

I didn''t think of that. I guess I''m selfish!

Mental note for the future: Consider DH''s feelings once in a while when preggers.

Me either. Thanks for the other side of the coin, T! And good morning!

Not that his being anxious would be an excuse to turn on our HH!

Good morning, ladies! I''ve already gone to the dentist and come home. I don''t need to accomplish anything else today, right?

Also agreed. If this is the case, he needs to talk to her about it instead of just being an Arse.

And after the dentist??? Nah. Just talk with us all day! That an accomplishment in itself!

The dentist is traumatizing enough. Take a personal day to reflect and internalize what just happened to you.

I''m sure there''s some truth to that, but like most guys, he''s really bad at expressing himself. I''ll ask him what bug crawled up his ass when I see him tonight.

Morning ST''ers!

Welcome back Sunny!!!! We want pics and details!

HH - I agree w/ BigT, DH is probably going through his own adjustment of becoming a Dad. Men don''t become Dad''s until there is an actual baby to hold so they don''t get the pregnancy and such. They just start to realize that all your focus isn''t on them anymore so they act like spoiled brats. They can''t help it. They are overgrown children.

Mini and I are playing hookie today....shhhhhh.

And the problem is that I didn''t even realize I was being a jerk until he freaked out at me. I made a comment about having to pee and to hurry up and open the door, and I guess my tone of voice set him off.

I wanna play hooky too!
