There is a particularly disturbing thread in FH&H. Apparently there are hospitals out there (US & Canada) that have med students practice pelvic exams on surgery patients. Without consent.



I''ll never leave ST again...

(okay, until I get curious to see what else is going on.)

Again TP, this is not a common occurrence and while horrifying and cringe-worthy, there''s no need to assume that ALL hospitals and doctors are creepy and unethical. Do some research on it, I would hate for one of the "Elders" to call you ignorant.

I want to add that the article was on Canada, and after knowing dozens of medical students that have gone through several different medical schools in the US, teaching hospital or not, this does NOT happen here.

I'm not brilliant, but I do tend to have a problem with people who feel the need to express their categorical distrust of doctors and the "medical profession."

ETA: Probably comes from being the child of a doctor...
