I SH*# you not, BF''s dad has the most amazing sangria recipe in the entire universe (which I have stolen! muahahahah!) I get absolutly hammered off it without realising because it tastes SOOOOOOOO GOOOOD that it dosn''t feel like I''m consuming massive quantities of wine.

Sangria

1 cup of sugar
1 cup of water
1 cinnamon stick (or one quarter of a teaspoon of cinnamon powder)
1 lime
1 lemon
1 orange
1 apple
2 bottles of fruity red wine
2 cups of ice

1)Put the cinnamon and sugar into a saucepan and bring to the boil, and simmer for 5 minutes stirring occasionally to make a syrup.

2)Meanwhile wash and slice the fruit at least a quarter of an inch thick, leaving the peal intact. Let the syrup cool. Place the fruit into a non-metallic bowl and pour the syrup over, cling-film and place in the fridge to chill.

3) Place the wine in the fridge to cool, and when you are ready to prepare the drink place the ice in a jug or punch bowl (big enough to hold the two bottles of wine) pour the fruit mixture over the ice and add the wine. Stir together (leave for at least 15 mins for the flavours to develop) and serve.

I might try halving the recipe later and having a REALLY good thursday night
