Not much to add to the shoe discussion, other than to say you definitely want a heel. If only because heels don't make you look like you have cankles and flats usually do (not you specifically, just in general). Unless you're teeny or have super defined ankles, they're not so pretty and leave you wondering if your calves are really that chunky.

I speak from bitter experience.
LOL. Yeah, I will have some heel, just not 4 inches. I don't like the cankle-tastic look either.
There was a story about cankles on the Today show (I think?) a week or so ago, and since then I've been obsessing about whether or not I have cankles. DH says no. But now he's pointing out to me every woman he sees with cankles. They are more common than one might imagine!

ETA: Although I'm sure elledizzy is cankle-free! and you, too, princesss!

Oh and I''d be looking for shoes but the reception is icky at best, and I can barely pull up PS.

110 miles from Vegas now.

Woo hoo!

Almost there!

I hope you have a great trip, Freke!

Elle, I like turquoise for the shoes, but beige/neutral would be nice too because that color would lengthen your legs.

Ok. What about a deep purple? Like a blue violet kind of color?

IKm trying to think of the color wheel...

Ooh, Freke is live-blogging her drive to Vegas!!

Elle, are there any jcrew shoes that would go?

Freke, I was considering other colors of blue also! I''m open to anything reallly.

TheBigT - They have shoes, but my gosh they are expensive! I won''t spend that much on shoes that I''m buying for one particular outfit, yanno? If they''re versatile shoes, sure... but yeesh.

Beige would be a nice clean flow, though. Hubba hubba, giraffe legs, LOL.

Planning is going okay so far, having a hard time focusing on my last masters paper because of wedding ideas. My top choice for receptions is the same place that mimzy held her wedding in December - GREAT prices, love the ambiance because I am a sucker for old buildings and vintage stuff. Not sure what the date is yet, I think that will depend on the hall availability in the 2010 summer/fall seasons.

So I baked a cherry pie with handpicked cherries this weekend, and now I am roasting a whole chicken with lemon and garlic butter for dinner. E-ring and proposal = domesticated? LOL

Hahah.. yes... it would give it a more seamless look!

That''s awesome that you''ve found some venues already! I love how everyone is systematically stealing all of Mimzy''s stuff. Speaks volumes about her wedding, eh? That venue is gorgeous, and absolutely a good choice!

And yes, your status updates are *quite* domestic there, Ms. Fiance!!

mimzy had a gorgeous winter wedding, I loved her photos. I''d be using a different hall in the building, though. The 4th floor one would fit our guest list and it''s set up like a jazz-age dinner theater. I am thinking of possibly doing something with birds for a theme.

Elle, the wedding planning is going fine--we booked our officiant today! Woo! As far as shoes with coral, what about these?

Link

I think a muted & natural looking green could go really well with a peachy coral color.

jcarly - i hope your car is ok!

Haven''t had much time lately to read through the last few days, so I hope everyone is ok and everything is going well. I do remember seeing shoes are being searched for, but somehow I don''t remember seeing many pictures (*hint).

I have to go to the DMV now. I hate the DMV. I should be back in............ maybe 7 hours? That''s usually almost how long it takes right?

aw jcar!!! that stinks

Well I was showing him stuff and he kept calling my baby face and sugar (he also called another customer sweet face.. i think he likes to use those sayings when talking to women) anyway he wasn''t rude it was just getting odd. after all was said and done I thanked him for the business and he was like "no thank you ST" and walked away. I just kinda stood there blinking. But he said it so nonchalantly that at first I wasn''t sure if he really said it. I think he meant to say like sugar or something cause he had called me that a few times before but the tits spilled right out of his mouth.

I wasn''t completely offended, more like puzzled. "did he really call me that, did I hear wrong" was what was going through my mind.

Good morning, ladies!
