iknow. and the cats are such lovers. we had one growing up, and i miss him so much. he was an cream cicle orange tabby, with 6 toes on each foot.

Well, like oil, there is actually only a finite amount of stupid in this world. I thought that over the past few years, we had actually dipped into the reserves, but today the people I deal with pulled it out full stop and have amazingly used up all the world''s stupid reserves in about 5 hours. It''s amazingly inconsiderate. I mean, what it I wanted to have a blonde moment on my way to dinner tonight and forget which way to turn? Nope, not allow. We are in a serious stupid shortage, and we all need to be concerned.

So, I just wrote a long post about how I''ve been questioning my life plan, and PS ate it. Awesome.

I''ve been thinking about my MBA for ages, but when I think about my passion, it''s not business. It''s words. I love writing and words in any way, shape, or form. But I can write anywhere - all that really takes is a computer or even just a pen and notebook. But I just don''t know what path to take. All I know is I hate my job, I miss working with words and I miss writing. I don''t know if I would want to be in any industry, but publishing seems like the most appealing option. I just don''t know....

Elation -- that''s so hard to hear, but I really think you''ve done the right thing. It''s better to be happy overall and know you''ve truly made a right decision than to be engaged or married to the wrong person, or for the wrong reasons. Hugs to you!!

Princesss - have you thought of pursuing an MFA in creative writing? Or just trying to get some short stories published? Or doing something in journalism?
In terms of going into the publishing industry, do you think you''d be more interested in books or magazines?

Princesss: I''m with you, girl. Hating my job, wanting to go to grad school, and can''t make a decision. Can you volunteer somewhere that you think you might be interested in, and see if it''s a good fit for you? That''s my next step, I think.

Yeah, today's better. I'm still thrown for a loop by this whole upheaval in thinking (I'm a 5 steps ahead kind of person, so I feel like I have to make a decision NOW so that I know what my next steps should be when realistically I have plenty of time), but BF calmed me down. I told him what was going on, and he said, "Well, I can probably get you on a conference call with D & A, and they're in publishing and are published authors, so that could help. Plus, you have a few professors that were published, so you can write them and see how they did it. We can research this and figure out how you want to do it, whether you want to try certain things or just wing it. You've got a while to figure out your genre, so I think just putting butt to chair and writing should be the first step. Then edit. Then think about where to send things. But for now, butt to chair and fingers to keyboard." (For the record, A is one of my favourite authors and has a similar academic background to mine, so that'd be cool. Plus he met D, his wife, at a dinner party thrown by BF's parents, so I bet they'd be willing to at least talk to us.)

Have I mentioned lately that I freaking love this guy????

So mad today. I think my 2 year old computer cooked itself 2 nights ago. Cooked!!! You''d think the %$#@!^* thing would shut off if it got too hot, but nooooooo. It decides to commit computer suicide on my lap. Where the hell am I supposed to find $800 for another one?!?!?! I''m getting married for god sake, I don''t have any money!!!
