You can add me to the list, too. I''m new to posting, I guess, but I certainly have been lurking for at least a year. I think I may be here for a while. BF and I are on 6 years and change, but in all fairness to him, he gave me a clear choice a long time ago. He asked me after 1 year of dating (I was 19, he was 24) if I would rather have a smaller diamond and a small, intimate wedding now, or a large diamond and a huge production for a wedding later. He said that he could afford a ring now, but he got the sense that I wanted something more than he could afford, being a student and pizza delivery driver.
I chose the latter. I said I would wait for all of time for him.

And I''m still waiting. Again, in all fairness, the rings we have looked at are 2.25 - 3.00 carats. Now he is a software engineer, but we live in the Boston area, up on the North Shore in Essex county, not the cheapest place to live, so we still don''t have a ton of money to throw around.

So, yeah, sorry, I tend to get carried away and write a novel.

I am a Jersey girl going on 6.5 yrs with the boy! I just lost my mom last year and now I am getting anxious for the ring (I am so devastated that I will not have her to share with me when it does happen

!) Just in the last few months I have been hinting A LOT, and stressing myself out at the same time! I am so happy that I know other girls are feeling what I am feeling now!

Sorry for the sob story, but hope you can all get me through this period of waiting!!!
