Mara, I had to come back to look at your head again. The ring I just received is in the Dimend Scaasi Tiffany reproduction setting where the head looks like a crown. I think it is beautiful, but I have decided there is something I don't like about it. You can't see the whole diamond down to the culet, and I like to be able to see the diamond from the sides.

Does WF sell a Stuller Solstice setting or do they just use some of the heads for custom projects? How much modifying of the head did they do for your ring. I think the head turned out very nice!

Do you or anyone else know how the standard 6 prong that WF sells ($450. platinum) does with a wedding band? I don't care so much about the bands being totally flush as I do about one of the rings being scratched or worn by the other. I think I like the more buttercup-like head over the straight head that the plain tiffany setting has.

hehe sunkist i am having to get all creative in my picture taking now that i have exhausted the ''usual suspect'' kind of photos...hehee.

lol portia is definitely a high-maintenance model, demanding payment in something other than kibble....i don''t know if i will use her again anytime soon. hehee.

i definitely love the nature and flower shots as well, because the diamond does pick up such fabulousness of color!

i also took a comparison shot with my old camera and the new one in the same lighting environment to see how the ''point and shoot'' differs between the two cameras...i''ll have to post that one too.

I have been following your ring upgrades and I have to say I absolutely LUV your new upgrade. Your J ring is so white and so beatuiful. Your setting has inspired me to have my rings re-set by WF. I hope to receive my rings this week and if I can figure out how to download pics I will share them.

Oh Mara I am so jealous of your pretty pretty pics (and the diamond ain''t bad either!). God RBs look the best in photos, especially ones like yours with the ideal arrows showing.. and the melee, and the eternity... can you tell I am getting bored with my solitaire?

Anyhoo, now that it''s spring and sunny out I have got to get out there and get some nice flower pics like this of my diamond or keep coming to this thread to drool over yours. I got my FI the Canon Power Shot A 520 for his B-day last spring and it''s pretty nice but I''m very low-tech and haven''t played around enough with all the functions. At the time I got it, I was debating between that and one of the SD ones, I can''t remember the #, probably a little lower model than the one you have but DAMN that one is spot on. Does yours take Lithium Ion battery? I know that was one of the things I didn''t like so much about the SD model. You know, like if you are traveling and it just dies and you''re not near a camera shop... Anyway, my first camera was a Canon, they are the best! After that, I didn''t want anything else...

I digress; your pics are great! (especially the flower ones, and esp the pinks!)

Well I could say "ditto to Widget's post"! I actually have been away from PS (except for a little bit of brief lurking), due to being sick at the end of April, last minute (literally) planning for the trip to Paris, and then non-stop activity since we returned including a graduation and family reunion. But all that said, your ring and all the photos are indeed fabulous!!!! You are making me sorry I don't have arrows - I love the way they show up in so many of your pictures. And you're also making me want to buy a new camera!!

I especially love the Portia shots, plant shots, and even the granite counter(?) shots. They're all incredible! Truly a gorgeous set of rings and FABULOUS new diamond!!!! (and head!) Congrats!!

Sarita, I think Demelza has the A520 or something because we were talking and she said she had the 520 and I was looking for an SD520 and figured out it was the A520 after a few minutes. Anyway, the capabilities she seems to have with her camera seem very similar to what mine has...so I would check out the various functions. I didn''t even really read the manual, just spent an hour or so sitting down playing with the functions and taking pictures to see what different things did.

I''m not sure if it''s a lithium ion but it''s a change from my last battery, because I used to have rechargeable double A''s in my Sony and it was nice to be able to just put in new batteries and have it work...but I also like the ease of how this one charges, I just pop out the battery and put it into the charger (which is tiny) and into the wall plug. It charges up totally in about 3 hours..so it''s fairly quick.

Can''t wait to see new photos with the 520 from you!

widget...hahaa portia does not LIKE to sit still for the photo shoot, reluctant model for sure...but she is so cute when she is doing it!!! that red photo just cracks me up, it''s totally one of my favorites. can you incent widget with a dangled treat if she sits still for the photo? hehe. portia is very treat motivated.
