The Official TTC Thread!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

L2l-sorry you're not feeling well :( sending you much healing dust!!!

Fab- I'm really glad you're seeing an RE. I don't know much about them as dh and I have only been ttc for two months but I know they're best for med monitoring. I hope you have a short journey ttc.

AFM 9 dpo, bbs still sore, but not nips. DH told me today he has a feeling I am pg, but I told him don't be shocked if bfn tomorrow. Just asking for dust here as I'm really hoping this is it. I heard "All I want for Christmas is you" today and started bawling. :(sad

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess, Loves2Laugh and MoxieMoo -thanks for the well wishes for my dr. appointment. The results are all 'normal' now, but the thyroid level is 4.7. According to my dr., that's fine. According to multiple other sources - the acupuncturist, lots of websites etc. it should be maximum 2 for fertility. I'm on CD 41 today with no end in sight.

The dr. wanted to start me on Clomid already - which I declined. I asked instead for a referral to a new endocrinologist - she agreed, and said the appt would likely be in Jan or Feb. The acupuncture dr. said that even if Clomid, by some miracle, got me pregnant, the thyroid problem would cause miscarriage.

Acupuncture dr. advised me to try to get on Synthroid (but I'm going away for holidays soon so won't be able to get back to my dr. before that). In the interim, she suggested daily topical application of iodine, which I started today. My dr. gave me the provera again to restart a cycle but I'm holding off on starting it for a bit.

Either way it's kind of good to understand that high thyroid levels kick up prolactin levels, which then prevent ovulation, which causes long and irregular cycles. Now to just get a dr. (hopefully the new endo) to agree that my level of 4.7 is causing this problem, rather than the 'sometimes we just don't know why" answer that I heard from my dr.

End of my update.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Welcome FabCrab! We could use some new blood here after all the wonderful BFPs of late :) I'm sorry to hear about the PCOS (my dr.s played around with that idea for me too :nono: ) diagnosis - I hope your stay here is short. :appl:

Princess - good luck testing tomorrow! I am sending you all the dust in the world :appl:

Loves2Laugh - the tree chopping sounds fun! We don't have a tree here, but I can't wait to go home to my parents' for Christmas and decorate the huge tree they get every year

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

PP- I'm so sorry your thyroid results were off :( I'm really sending you many positive vibes that everything gets straightened out soon!

L2L- How are you feeling??

AFM, I woke up, POAS, and the first Wondfo I dipped showed a faint pink line where the test line was supposed to be. I didn't believe it, almost dropped the cup of pee trying to dip another, so I dipped another, and BNF, then EPT digital dipped, BFN, then another wondfo (with diff urine), and BFN    majorly!!! It wasn't FMU for any, but my BB's are still sore, I'm very gassy, and I've peed 5 times since 5:30 am with some nausea this am. I also have an abundance of creamy CM. Damn it, even POAS can't be easy. DH and I are going to target today to get FRER's. I'm beginning to doubt it though as my temp was high (low 98) for 4 days, then dropped slightly again today (97.89) :(sad I know it's not over till witch shows, but I can't help but think negatively. POAS again tomorrow!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

princess, so sorry about the confusion POAS results! I hope tomorrow's results are clearer and certainly positive!

pumpkin, I'm sorry to hear about your elevated thyroid but glad that the other results were normal. Having such looong cycles must be very frustrating. I'm glad you have a good plan in place though and I really hope you find another dr who listens to you better. may I ask what the topical iodine does? I've never heard that prescribed before.

L2L, hope you feel better soon!

Fabcrab, hope your stay here is short!

hi everyone else!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

fabcrab- I kind of know what it's like to be surrounded by a lot of people with babies. DH is the youngest of 7 and right after we got married we were pestered about it a LOT. My DS is the youngest of 14 cousins. Don't get discouraged by those around you.

PP- I am so sorry about the elevated thyroid. At least you have an answer now and hopefully the new RE can get you on the right medication and you'll start Oing on your own. I'd almost hold out on the Provera until you go in to see him/her (just because it's so Evil!.) Out of curiousity, what does the iodine do?

princess- Phooey for confusing pee sticks!! :angryfire: Maybe tomorrow use FMU and the FRER? I hope today was just too early and a fresh batch of sticks is what you need for your BFP!!

How are all the newly PG laides doing?? Well, those of you still peeking in here... I hope you are all feeling well and those first appointments get here quickly!!

AFM- 7dpo and I'm still sick :knockout: I hate that I've been taking meds to help me sleep. I can hardly sleep with the meds, I can't imagine not taking them at all. I'm figuring I'll POAS next weekend AF doesn't show. I hope everyone is having a great weekend! I start back to work tomorrow after a 12 day vacation. ;(

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess a 0.10 change is error, not a true "dip" ;)) Keep trucking, 10DPO is too early tp have any clear answers.

PP It is appalling that your doctor is not interested in finding a cause for your long cycles etc. Seriously, so glad you have a referral to another doctor and seem to have your acupuncurist (is he/she a medical doctor?) on your side.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Just wanted to say it isn't over yet princess and your symptoms seem promising! Use fmu tomorrow and good luck! I had a faint line on the wondfo at 9 dpo! If it is there it means something!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess - sorry for the confusion with your testing. Good luck getting a BFP tomorrow :appl:

Loves2Laugh - sorry you're still sick. the 2ww is hard enough without being ill too :nono: Hope you feel better soon

Dreamer - thanks for the reassurance. In our appointment, I was shocked when the dr. suggested Clomid already. When I came home and read more about thyroid levels and how it relates to cycles and fertility, I'm angry that she didn't seem to put it together

it is incredibly frustrating to have such long cycles. it's pointless right now - my thyroid is out of whack and I'm not ovulating. I'm annoyed with my dr. too - willing to put me on Clomid but doesn't see the thyroid as the (apparent) cause of my long anovulatory cycles! the acupuncturist suggested iodine as a for-now solution to the thyroid problem - lack of iodine can be one reason that people have hypothyroidism. it won't replace Synthroid but it's better than nothing until I can get to the specialist.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Hello ladies,

I hope all is well in the land of TTC.

Pumpkin - Ugh for your doc's idea. Seriously, can he not just do a little research. I am so glad that you asked for 2nd opinion. I hope that your new doc is a bit more open-minded and will up for actually exploring your symptoms. Enjoy you time away the next few weeks and hopefully the new year will bring you some better TTC results.

Fab Crab - Welcome to the TTC thread. Hopefully your stay with be short until you get KU  Good luck in your journey!

Princess - Oh goodness, how frustrating! I must agree with the others though, 10 DPO is really early to be getting results, especially when not using FMU. You can go back and look at my peesticks, and you will see the line was SUPER fait on 10DPO, and that was with FMU. Hang in there until tomorrow morning, and hopefully you will get what you are looking for :wink2: PS I got a serious temp drop on 10DPO too, so it could be a good thing (ie implantation dip).

L2L - I am sorry that you are sick and that you have to go back to work tomorrow. Yuck. Oh well, hopefully it has been a good vacation, despite the sickness. Hopefully you will feel better soon and you will get some even better news next week!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

dcgator - the worst part is that this dr. works as a women's health centre and all they do is women's health medicine! So frustrating!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I was just doing a little research and the most up to date medical research suggests the most common days for implantation in successful pregnancies in DOP 8, 9, or 10. Add a couple days to that for the earliest possible BFP.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Mrs and dreamer- Thanks for the info!!!

AFM, 11dpo, temp rose to 98.17 from 97.89 yesterday, bbs still sore and an increase in creamy CM. I guess since I was so used to Wondfos, I peed in a cup rather than on the stick, and saw the faintest of lines, but I honestly couldn't tell if it was evap or a faint positive, so I threw it away having nothing confirmed nor denied. Before I threw away the fmu, I decided to dip a wondfo on a whim, and wouldn't you know, there was a faint but definitely noticeable pink line!!!! I then took my last digi, and BFN (but I know the digis are not as sensitive as frer and Wondfos). I'll post the pic later on as I'm on my mobile (so you ladies can let me know if you see it and I'm not nuts lol), but after my workout I'm going to head to the dr for BW. I hope the wondfo was the correct one!! Please send some dust over!!! Thanks

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess - I am sending you truckloads of dust for a BFP. My first guess, without seeing the peestick is that it is a BFP if there is a 2nd line. I can't tell you how many months I looked for a line (even an evap one) and saw nada, just stark white. And, as you mentioned, you could still have a BFN on the digitals, b/c they do generally have a higher HCG threshold. So, please do post the pic when you get a chance and let us see this 2nd line!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess: ditto to what DC said. I have NEVER seen an evap on a wondfo so your faint line was likely your BFP!!! Good luck!!!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Sounds like a BFP to me, too!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

Ditto on the super light lines--mine are only now dark, and I'm 7 weeks. It's normal to keep testing at 7 weeks, right? ;-)

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Here you gals go!
It's SUPER hard to see on here because my iphone takes such large pics, and resizing really killed the pic quality, but I swear on my phone it's visible! It definitely was not white, but a light light pink. I feel like a crazy person because it's so hard to see on here, but everyone I showed on my phone saw the line too. I have a script for beta, which I'm going get take later on today.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I think it's easier to see here, but I swear IRL and on my cell it's there.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Princess - There is DEFINITELY a 2nd line there, you are not crazy, although I felt the same way too :wink2: .

So CONGRATS ON YOUR BFP, :appl: :appl: WOOHOO! You are KU lady!

PS If you need some more reassurance, go back and look at Modern and my peestick collections. On 10/11DPO, they look very much the same as yours.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I see it and my Wondfo's looked the same 11DPO! Congratulations!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Thanks DC and mox!!! The only thing that worries is what I took to be the BFN on frer. I'm just hoping it was too early for frer to pick up, but the good thing is still no sign of AF. I have read that some women took a long time to get a BFP on frers! I have my fx!!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Looks good lady! ETA: I do see a line, BTW.

Did you wait the full 5 minutes before looking at the FRER? Go dig it out of the garbage if you did not ;)) And dip another wadnfo, why not?

Time will tell for sure!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

DD- Of course I didn't wait the full 5 mins :cheeky: but I ran over to the lab on campus (I work for a hospital) and got beta BW. They said it could be back today, so I'm stalking my dr this evening lol!!! So much dust please :) I'll burn the pink sticks if it's a BFN with the BW lol!! Are there any other reasons why the FRER wouldn't show up +?
L2L- how are you feeling?

Char- Any news?

PP- Any AF yet?

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

I found with my early BFPs it did take a little time for the line to appear, you had to wait I guess for it to react. It might also be too soon in terms of HCG.

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

Yup Princess, that looks like a BFP to me. :appl: My early Wondfos looked exactly like that, and both times I was pregnant it took another day or so after the first faint positive Wondfo for the digi to turn positive! Methinks you're knocked up!! hehe! Congratulations, and can't wait to hear the beta results!!! :appl:

ETA: I personally think my Wondfos were more sensitive than my FRER's in the earliest days - the lines were easier to see on the Wondfos for me! So that could explain your "negative" FRER. I hope so!

Re: The Official TTC Thread!

:appl: :appl: princess!! :appl: :appl:

Looks like a BFP to me!! So excited for you! I can't wait to hear about you beta! Lucky girl that you have access to getting bloodwork so early! Congrats!
