The Official TTC Thread!

Good Morning ladies

LL -- Sounds like you did have a busy weekend! I'm sure your excited about getting your jewelry equipment in. Make sure and post your new creations!

BB -- I'm glad you had a great weekend too!

Well ladies...I chickened out.

I had the test in hand but just couldn't do it. I talked myself into waiting one more day. I think I just didn't want to see a BFN. Today shoud be the last day of my cycle unless I'm having a longer LP. My temp did go down but not near the coverline yet. Please bear with me one more day and I promise to test in the morning if AFF doesn't show. Here's my chart if anyone is interested.

ETA: My gut says this cycle isn't going to result in a BFP for me, so I'm not hopeful. If I do test tomorrow it will be more for peace of mind.

InLuv, what''s the open circle for? Do you usually get a drop to coverline the day that AFF shows up? I''m keeping my fingers crossed for you!

The open circle is because I woke up and temped 1 hr early. My body is not quite used to the time change. Last month my temp fell to just above the coverline on 13DPO (last day of my cycle) and below it on CD1 which should be tomorrow. I just FEEL like AFF is coming though...

Game over for me!

Spotting has started.

Stupid time change and fake out temp. Oh well, next month is a new opportunity.

Awe, I''m sorry

Man, I sure am suprised...I thought for sure Oct. was going to be a big month for us. Sorry InLuv....

Oh InLuv, I''m sorry. I really had high hopes for my cycle buddies. Have we heard from Ebree yet?

Hi Ladies!

Boo AFF! Hopefully November will be a fruitful month for this thread.

BB- Thanks so much for the recommendation...the menu looks quite yummy!

Peony- Hope things have slowed down for you...

LuLu- When do you test?

Anyone else getting close to testing?

Nothing much to report here. I got a peak on the monitor and positive opk on Friday. If my temp stays high tomorrow FF will confirm ovulation on Saturday, yay! I''m just happy that it appears that the monitor is accurately gaging my ovulation.

Thanks everyone for cursing AFF with me.

Ebree -- What''s going on with you?

AM04 -- Yay that your OPK is accurate! Do you think you will stop charting and just use it or not?

Peony -- We miss ya! Check in soon.

Here''s to hoping that November is a much better month for all of us!

Hey InLuv-
I think that I will continue temping, I''d rather have more data than less. My monitor and OPKs always aligned but it was nice to have temps to confirm that I was ovulating. Temping next cycle might be a little difficult as I have a lot of travel (across timezones) planned but I''ll do my best!

Nothing much to report here. CD 49 with no AF in sight. I did take a pregnancy test Sat night and got a BFN. I just wish AF would arrive so I can get back on a regular cycle.

I am also in sort of a dilemma. DH and I are wavering a little about TTC in Nov. and Dec. The reason being is that we have 3 sets of friends and family members getting married in Aug and Sept of next year (which would be right around the due dates for a Nov-Dec conception) and all of the weddings are out of town. We were really hoping the baby would be born before the weddings, but that doesn''t look like a possibility now. I obviously don''t mind being pregnant at the weddings, but we would kind of hate to miss any/some of them since they all are very close friends or family and that would be a likely possibility since I can''t imagine taking a week old baby to a wedding and if the baby weren''t born yet I wouldn''t be able to travel if I were 9 mos. The flip side is, now that we''ve started trying, we are really excited for a baby and it would suck to stop trying for 2 months. DH is on board for whatever I want to do, I just can''t decide. Guess I will have to make a decision soon.

Given the unpredictability of TTC, I don''t think I personally would take a break... it can take a long time to get knocked up and adding another 2 months would suck

But if you don''t think it would suck so much it it takes longer, then put it on hold!

Hey loves vintage. I think it''s great that you had a cystic fibrosis test! My new ob/gyn asked if I''d had one too at my first TTC apppointment (I''d already had one back before my wedding). I believe that the mutation is carried in about 1 in 30 Caucasians, and it''s really one of the most severe and unfortunately common pediatric genetic disorders. It''s recessive though, so it could only crop up if you and your DH both have the mutation. I''ve known several incredibly sweet kids who passed away from it, although I believe that most people live into their 20s.

I had a CF test too, along with a bunch of other ones like Tay-Sachs that are common among Ashkenazi Jews.
The doctor''s office called today re: the CF test, and I''m not a carrier, so that''s good news. Other than that, I am at CD15, but my chart this month is severely lacking information. I sort of stopped temp''ing this month, but just started up again this weekend. I ovulated last month at CD17, and predict I will be doing the same this month, but we shall see.

I feel like we are the worst TTC''ers because I''m not even sure we are ready to TTC, and when I say "I", I really mean "we" -- some days I am quite sure, other days I am scared to death, and he''s the same way! How did you know for sure?

LV, I have the same feelings. I think we knew that we were ready when we realized that we'll always have moments when we're scared, but wanting a child became worth all of the scariness and unknowns that comes along with it.

I am not sure that I will ever be "ready" in the sense of having no more worries! I think we knew it was time when the confidence outweighed the doubts. We just jumped in!

Well, I''m proud to report that I have crosshairs! My temp took a nosedive today, all the way down to the coverline. I woke up an hour early to vote, but a .4 drop seems a bit drastic for only missing an hour of sleep. Oh well, at least ovulation was confirmed.

Hope everyone is well!

Am04, congrats on your crosshairs! Always a satisfying feeling.

LV, about being "ready," we don''t feel 100% ready either, but know that we want to have a child some day. Because we''re not getting any younger we don''t have the luxury of hemming and hawing, as I''m sure we would have otherwise done. Kinda makes it easier, in a way!

Hope everyone else is doing well, especially the folks we haven''t heard from in a while - Peony, Amber, DrK...slap me if I''m missing anyone. Of course "a while" in PS terms is like more than 3 days.

Thanks Festy!

LV- I also wanted to chime in re: feeling ready. I don''t know if you can ever be 100% ready. For us, we knew we were ready to try when the thought of being parents made us feel more excited than fearful.

Poo, no Halloween positives?

Stupid pee sticks!!!

Maybe my prediction would have been better sent to Turkey Day, then.

I hope everyone''s doing well. I just got home and I''m totally exhausted; I''m going to unpack and take a nap before my dear husband (who I''ve missed like crazy) gets home from work.

I was *so* excited to log in and see all kinds of happy news.

Hmph!!

Oh well, our days will come ladies!!!

I''ll have to post later with a picture of something I bought while I was in the mountains. It''s just too cute!!

Good morning ladies! This thread has been a little slow lately...maybe because most of us are at the beginning of our cycles? I''m at CD 7...boring, boring, boring!
24.gif

Welcome back Fisher - sounds like you had a wonderful trip!

Anyone in the 2ww or getting ready to test soon?

Peony and Ebree - how you both doing?

I''m sure that is why it''s slow...

AM04 -- Yay for crosshairs! I always get excited when I see them. I can''t wait for you to test. Care to post your chart?

Boring old CD2 here. Nothing to report.

I''m wondering about Ebree too...

Yeah, boring here, too. CD9. Bleh. Nothing to report.

I''m sick. That''s always fun. Can''t talk above a whisper. It''s annoying. I think because I''m sick (and have been since Sunday), my temps have been effected. I''ve yet to have even one temp that is below what my coverline was for my last cycle. Today''s was 98.3. That''s usually a post ovulation temp for me. I''m hoping that since this is still the first part of my cycle, these temps will not effect my chart too much, since I don''t usually O until CD20 or after.

Everyone, I don''t know how many of you know Indy or not, or how many of you check into the Pregnant PSer thread, but she''s really a true sweetheart and she lost her twin boys on Monday. DD, who is a wonderful source of not only information for us TTCers, but also is a strong voice of support during times of sorrow, has made a thread for her in the Hangout. I can''t imagine the sorrow and deep, penetrating grief she must be enduring right now, and since all we can do is share our love and support with her through this means, I thought I''d pass on to you all that she has a thread that she''s said has been very supportive to her in the past, and I''m sure our words will be appreciated now, as well.

I am so overcome with emotion for her. It breaks my heart. I hate that things like this happen, when there is no explanation that makes sense. No explanation could make sense.

Anyway, I just wanted everyone here to know that there is a means of reaching out to a precious person right now in the midst of great sorrow, if you didn''t already know yet.

Thanks Fisher...I''ve been following her story and didn''t know she lost the twins. I was pulling for them and with each week that passed, became more hopeful. You''re right - it doesn''t make sense.

Fisher, thank you for the update on Indy. I''ve been following her story since she was active on this thread. It is too sad for words.

Hi TTCers...I need your help. I post pretty regularly but didn''t want this under my other name.

OK well I am not on hormonal BC at the moment, went off it in May due to side effects. I am waiting on approval for an IUD. My last period, as best I can remember, began 10/3 and was over 10/11. MY BF and I are LD and so I do not see him all that often. We had sex 10/26 and in the "middle" (if you will) the condom came off. When we realized it we quickly stopped and got another.

My period has not shown up. Between May and now, I have had pretty consistent cycles. I POAS last sunday and today. Both negative. What do I do? Should I be worried? How much longer should I wait to test again? I had period-like cramping Friday and almost everyday to some degree since then. I have "felt" like it was coming, but nothing. Help!!

All you can do is keep testing until it either turns up positive or your period arrives! Many women don''t ovulate in the middle of their cycle, so you are probably safe and this is just a long cycle, but the only really proof will be the arrival of Aunt Flo!

Thanks Dreamer! Would it be possible/likely to have ovulated then? Also, what about the cramps? Are there any other signs (besides a BFP) I should be watching for?

Okay, I''m going to try to make sense of myself, hopefully it will work.

For you to be pregnant, you would have had to ovulate right around the time you had sex. Since you had sex on the 26th, let''s assume you ovulated right around then. Right now you would be 8-9 days past ovulation. There is a chance you could be getting negatives on a pee stick if this is true. I would say most people get a positive on a test at least by 14 dpo, so I would try testing again this weekend or early next week if AF doesn''t show up. If you still get negatives then, then it would probably be safe to assume you aren''t pregnant and just having a really long cycle. Stress can definitely do that to you!

Plus, the chance that you actually did ovulate right around the 26th is not that high, but I just wanted to throw out your worst case scenario to give you a realistic timeline.

Also, on here it seems that the First Response Early Response tests give the best results if you are testing early.

Also, you said the condom broke and you got another so, I''m assuming that you two weren''t "finished" - obviously you can still get pregnant even if you don''t finish, but the chances are not as high.
