The Pricescope Hall of Fame - Iconic Pricescope jewelry

Sometimes the things that are iconic aren't always the biggest. Sometimes they're a confluence of styles and fashions that capture the spirit of the time of their production.

Packrat's ring brought together August Vintage Cushion cut stones, warmer tones, unplated white gold, and Singlestone's beautiful craftsmanship. And to add personal flair, she added a wonderful wedding band inscribed with words from her and her husband's favorite movie - The Princess Bride. The whole effect was individual, beautiful, and personal. We loved it!

If Pricescope teaches you anything, it's that a small budget is not prohibitive to getting a great ring!

For one of the best threads on Pricescope filled with rings under $5k - and some under $1k:

Two great examples from the PS'er who started that thread - Niel - a gorgeous 5 stone ring purchased for under $5k:

and a fabulous marquise and baguette ring - purchased through ebay for under $1k!!

Still looking for some of the honking great diamond studs on PS. Anybody?

Elliot86 - thanks so much for including this ring! I wanted to add it but couldn't find it. It's definitely a 'must-add' ring to any PS Hall of Fame!

...

VRBeauty - has your post disappeared? If it has, can you pls re-post it? I think that beautiful James Meyer ring is one of the better known rings on PS and generated a huge amount of interest - both in JM's work in general and that style in particular. I had intended to try to find it to add it, and you saved me the search!

And yes - it is completely ok to add your own jewelry; I just wish Phoenix would get on her bike now and add her gorgeous pearl and diamond drops!! :wavey: :appl:

Thanks mrs. blop. I felt kind of silly posting something I own.

So here it is - with a HUGE disclaimer that I had absolutely nothing to do with its creation - that credit goes to Upgradable (now Uppie) and James Meyer.

Absolutely no need to feel silly! This ring deserves to be here. This thread is for all the rings that were landmarks in PS for all sorts of reasons, and this one certainly qualifies! Thanks for posting. :)

And of course... what could be more PS than diamond toe rings? This trend predates my time at PS, but I've been lusting after one of these ever since I first read about them. These are Mara's:

And aljdewey's:

(BTW I think Mara was given a 1K PS vendors gift certificate for her 10,000th post. I could be wrong on the numbers though. In any event, PS no longer does that. :wink2: )

I am crazy for french cuts, and wintotty kicked off the trend!

And of course....

VRBeauty and Elliot86 - these are great additions - thanks for adding! I hope this thread becomes a great compilation of the trends and landmark pieces that have partly shaped Pricescope (only partly, because nothing can replicate the people!)

VRB - I'm so glad you added the Nightingale - that ring made a huge impact!

Whoops, my picture captions didn't save. The pear mahenge is Chrono's by Whiteflash. The elongated cushion mahenge belongs to ArtNouveau.

Thank you so much, Miz Nina, for posting my VC Art Deco ring here. Victor created a wonderful design that led to the beautiful Mahenge spin(el)-off that we saw as Jewel of the Week recently.

And thanks to Mrs Blop for starting this thread--I have always loved the two tsav rings that Pokey and Pandora crafted, Acinmom's sapphire, etc., and now that all of these are collected in one thread, I don't have to tick my husband off by spending so much time searching on PS for my favorites to drool over...

God, there is some out-of-this-world jewelry on this thread, some of the best I've ever seen, including in my books about European royal jewelry! I can't pick - I love them all.

But the red stone rings a few posts up....are they spinels? Or rubies? Whichever, that red candy color looks lit from within. Totally otherworldly.

The next 3 photos are a combination of CdnBlingGal's .81ctw I VS2 White Flash martini studs and Skippy's .8ctw White flash martini studs - both pairs ACA's.

I've included these because they are representative of a stud size (.8ctw - .88ctw) and setting style (martini in white gold or platinum) chosen over and over again by PS members. And given that they're ACA studs, they are truly top of the line.

First off - CdnBlingGal's studs:

For an example of a sometimes contentious cut, there's the Henri Daussi, shown here in Nyc2chigal's halo'd 3 stone ring - 1ct center stone and 1.87ctw. Despite the seemingly 'far from traditional' statistics for these stones, this cut has still gained a loyal following for their gentle nature and their considerable weight-to-spread ratio!
