Now I can play too! (9.87mm x 7 mm pear). These buggers are hard to photograph.

Any suggestions for a setting? :)

haha I'd be lying if I said I didn't love it. You're welcome to make it your own. :)

There are also lots of other lovely designs for pears. Working with Elle on something custom could be fun too! Or you could use one of the designs she's already done. (She's the first one who came to mind because of the awesome pear stuff she's done.)

Showing the good, the bad and the ugly...
When I look back at the initial vendor pics from Perry/Leon I remember that I - while I recognized the potential - I took a huge risk as the stone actually looked quite included and underwhelming. I was so surprised to see the beauty and strange lightbulb glowing quality once I saw the set ring in real life...

Please share your experiences as well...

At that price, my thought would be to see the GIA papers for the stone; the picture looks a bit Photoshopped to me. There are many hues of paraiba as you can see in this thread. Small differences in shade can result in large differences in price.

Acinom, that ring is the best.

Acinom, for your Leon paraiba, what are the dimensions of your center stone and the french cut diamonds? I love the proportions.

Hi snotty pie :wavey:
The dimensions of the 2.07 ct Paraiba cushion are: 8.32 X 6.99 x 4.70 mm.
I am not sure about the exact dinensions of the frenchies, but the shank width is 2.6-2.7 mm.

Thanks, Acinom. :) The cabs are included but the inclusions don't look bad. Being a cab and greenish in color, they were reasonably priced compared to the pure faceted blues so I grabbed them!

Snotty pie, I love your pear. There are some nice pear halos. There is a nice one posted recently, designed by Elle at The Gemstone Project on Easy.

I just took a picture under very low light. IRL slightly more bluish, but the light is very yellow. (The pad under it is white). With the prices for Paraibas, I doubt that I can afford something larger and clean. This is 0.39 ct. I don't know what the plan would be, maybe mount it into a pearl, or a mabe pearl, or something fancy.

Thanks for posting, snotty pie. I've stalked that on their website and its awesome to see it on your hand. Were you blown away in person? Paraibas are so hard to photograph I always wonder about vendor photos v real life.

Honestly, it didn't wow me. I have only seen one other faceted paraiba IRL, so maybe my baseline is off. I actually find that I like my cab better than either of the faceted paraibas that I have seen.
