Will you make a thread for these beauties?

Acinom, I'm not planning to make a thread for them. The reason being, I have been spending on jewelry like crazy (some of it is gifts for my F&F), and I don't know (can't decide) which ones to showcase. My DF thinks I'm being very extravagant, and indeed I'm spending my holiday bonus (I know how much it is because I do payroll) to pay off the bling credit card charges. I definitely will cut back next year. Making individual threads will have an effect of making me feel self conscious and materialistic, if that makes sense to you.

I can so relate to this dear @voce
as I sometimes was working on 3 projects at the same time. It felt awkward when i received them. Since the big ban I am super happy with what I already have...
I am sure you will enjoy your beautiful jewelry to the max. You will still have them in many years which makes it a very sustainable purchase. And hopefully you will post more pics and handshots in this thread

This stone has been certified twice... because I misplaced the first certificate I paid for through Yvonne, and Kataoka only works with certified stones... so I had to pay to have it done AGAIN...

Side note, am I allowed to ask what range it costs to set with kataoka? I see his pieces are generally about 5 grand or more non custom... is it way more to go custom?

@polarisfire , I think each piece may be individually priced for custom. My case was a little different to usual as I had previously had some communication with them about a possible custom piece. Unfortunately their communication at that point was a bit lacking and it didn’t go ahead as the quote ‘expired’ by the time they got back to me...

Thanks to @JPie who let Anis know about this, I was encouraged to reach out so they could rectify my previous experience. As such, they honoured their initial quote for THIS piece. Their prices have gone up several times since.

I post this so that those who read my first post about the not so good experience can also know that Kataoka went out of their way to make it right. However, it does mean that I don’t actually have up to date knowledge of their custom pricing.

Having said that, as a rough range, I don’t think their custom pricing is RIDICULOUS considering the base price of their pieces. I would guesstimate the custom price if you supply the centre stone costs similar to the price of a ring of similar design from their collection.

I'm not sure I'd be able to. Setting does cost a lot. It's #goals and a dream at this point to finish them in 2020.
