The Trump Policy of Separating Families at the US Border

I've called my senators and rep numerous times since our pig in chief took office. Don't worry @Calliecake, I am never that nice. I called Ted Cruz a spineless coward when his clerk said he has no official statement on the immigration policy. These people are yucky.

@ceg I had to post this for you. I called my state senators today to ask what citizens can to do to put an end the separating families at the border policy. She told me to call daily my state and local representatives and tell them how I feel. Also donate to the ACLU as they are helping to fight this fight.

So I called my local representative again today, sounding much calmer and nicer than I did yesterday, asking for Republicans to end their separating families at the border policy. I said Republicans have control of all branches of government and they can end this policy today. That was all I said. The kid answering the phone hung up and didn’t say goodbye. I called back and told him since I’m paying his bosses salary he better start saying goodbye before hanging up on callers. I’m so pissed right now.

My feeling is that Melania despises him, but the marriage is a business arrangement. It must be scary to face a Narcissistic rage...she has to sort of live with him. She was too timid and took 0 responsibility, But I can’t imagine that she feels that she has any influence over him, considering his personality disorder, and what it’s like to live with him.

Too bad she doesn’t realize how helpful a stronger stance would be for others. She basically said the obvious. Nothing to work with there. I did sense that there maybe a shred of empathy there as a mother, maybe. But empathy without responsibility and personal power is anemic.

She’s got to be so tuned out after years with this monster. I just don’t understand why she doesn’t try a little harder though considering the harm being done and obvious danger which this poses to all. If he can do this, the mentality is unleashed and he can and WILL do it increasingly more often to others as well.

Because she likes her cushy life more than she cares about the terrible things happening in the world. My cynical 2 cents. I have relatives like this, they are shallow, selfish people that lack the capacity for altruism. :angryfire:

Yes, she sold her dignity for wealth.

Why do people think that Ivanka ever could cared? She is Ivanka TRUMP! She has been by his side forever. She’s been abused and brainwashed to be his perfect robot. Unless she had some kind of experiences to wake her up, she wouldn’t ever see anything wrong with her life or with deceiving the public into thinking she was the voice of reason.

She is perfectly bred evil.

She was never anything else.

This whole family is run by Donny Jonny. Let’s stop giving any of them any credit.

Except for Barron. He might have a chance if we swoop in and save him.

I really dislike Ivanka. It makes my stomach churn even seeing her face, almost as much as DT. I truly have an aversion to seeing them. She looks so ‘empty’ to me, phony baloney If you will. And the sons, DT and ET show an unintelligent expression. They are so brain washed... are most likely weaker( inverted) narcissists or codependents.

I hate the look of Stephen Miller the most. I think his outer appearance matches his soul. It isn't that he is ugly. I do not dislike people for being ugly. He just looks evil in a throwback to Nazism way. I have to admit that Eric Trump looks as stupid as he is, though. And I have absolutely no prejudices against people who are developmentally disabled. They are often a sweet population for a social worker to work with. I wish I never had to give up my job working with them. But Eric Trump has the special stupidity of the deliberately unenlightened. He is a dim bulb who worked hard at never letting any more electrical current reach him.

What really sucks about this is that Trump’s ‘people’ are claiming that separating children of immigrants, those who came seeking asylum, is the same as Americans who are prosecuted and separated from their families. This is grossly distorted. Those kids usually remain at home, with a relative, or even with a foster family, in a culture which they already know.
This is pathetic. Truly.

The UN demanded an immediate halt against separating children. It is a CLEAR violation of rights against children. Almost all religious faiths are outraged....all but The Evangelists.

Apparently, he made a deranged speech in which he took some responsibility for this...meaning no one is buying his ‘blame it on the democrats bs’. Seriously, how low can you go...he could end this atrocity Immediately but spends weeks blaming it on democrats instead? Not fit as a leader, period.

Again and again on cable news I hear that immigrants can be arrested because they step over the border at points like McAllen, Texas, where there are "processing facilities", in the knowledge that they will be charged with a misdemeanor and detained deliberately. Jeff Sessions has said that they should ask for asylum at "the points of entry". I have learned a lot by following this story in the past week or so. Now I know that the points of entry, which are always too full, have been deliberately clogged by the Trump administration to make it impossible for immigrants to enter. That way he can make a point of separating families with his "Zero Tolerance" policy and fire up his base.

In the best of times, people at points of entry may be told to come back the next day five days in a row while over 100,000 people stand in line ahead of them with no hope of getting to the head of the line. This is to apply for asylum legally. While fleeing extreme violence in Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador.

There are many cases of parents who have been deported to their home countries and whose children were left behind in the United States. Chris hayes of MSNBC spoke to another reporter from his station who was speaking from Central America and who knew of several such cases. One involved a six year-old girl who is somewhere in the United States. Sometimes, the reporter there said, the people travelling do not even speak Spanish since they are indigenous people. (That would never have occurred to me, but when one of my friends was in the Peace Corps in Paraguay-she and her husband spoke fluent Spanish-they couldn't speak to the people where they were placed since none of them spoke Spanish.)

I suggest that we demand that there be unlimited access for immigrants to apply for asylum at points of entry. People can queue up and get a ticket punched showing that they have applied (gotten a ticket). Then they can wait their turn to be called. But they would be immune from arrest once they had gotten that ticket. No matter where else they entered.

Only Americans convicted of crimes are jailed. An American who is arrested is presumed innocent. And his child is not put in a cage and hidden from the public when the parent is arrested. Unless the arrest is for first degree murder or has no money for bail, the parent usually gets out after a phone call. Whether or not the parent gets out, the child goes home to relatives.

I added to my post. Exactly.

The Dems. under the Obama admin could have had done it 9 yrs ago if they really wanted to, plus the Dems are using the dreamers as pawns. Little does the dreamers know that the Dems. are their true enemies. :(sad The left can fool the illegal immigrants but they can't fool me. :praise:

A few simple Qs for the liberals here...
Who was the last Prez. to sign an amnesty bill?
what yr. was it? which party did this Prez. belonged to? :read:

Thank you for not answering my Qs...

Not fit as a leader for ANY party. Period.

We have to demand that the children not be hidden! Trump thinks he can get away with this! The Homeland Security Secretary said she did not know where the girls or toddlers were. Did you write to your Congressman and two US Senators today?

@AGBF have emailed and called all 3 of my guys 3 days in a row. They are all republicans. I emphasized that I am a suburban mom who votes. I didn't mention that I will never vote for any of the 3 regardless.

It's predictable to watch the left-wing, drive-by media distort the truth about the children ripped from their parents' arms like children at Auschwitz. Here are some uncomfortable facts to ponder:

1) Of the 12,000 children in detention, 10,000 were handed over to human traffickers by their parents and paid to get their children across the border. Many children that aren't caught by Border Patrol are funneled into the active child prostitution rings in all larger cities across the U.S.

2) None of the remaining 2,000 children who illegally crossed with their parent/parents are being charged with a crime and therefore they cannot legally be kept with their parents who have broken U.S. immigration laws and have been charged with crimes. Currently in the U.S., there are 2.7 million children who have a parent behind bars. No, the children cannot stay with that parent.

3) Those horrific photos of children in cages? They are from 2014, while Obama was President.
A number of prominent liberals shared the photos, mistakenly believing they depicted the Trump administration's treatment of immigrant children who were forcibly separated from their parents. Dealing with these children has been a long-standing problem that Clinton, Bush and Obama have all refused to address.

You lie. I saw live footage and heard numerous reports from reliable people, people unlike you. Shut the h*ll up until you know something.

Guess you're one of the people who sits up at attention when Trump speaks.

Please cite your source. The US DHS also placed children in the hands of human traffickers.

I hope these claims are a justification....for what is happening now, most brutally, as is typical and predictable with a narcissist, under Trump’s watch. I hope that is not the case.

I called my two Senators and my local representative today and I plan to do so daily until these families are reunited. My senators offices said continuing to call is one the best things we can do.

Trump is terrorizing children to show his his base how tough he is. I hope there is a special place in hell for this man and his administration. I have no idea how they sleep at night or look in the mirror.

@Dancing Fire , I will not answer your questions. You have heard these children crying out for their parents and their aunt and you still continue to defend this President. This is about so much more than politics. These children’s mental health is at stake. As @soxfan told you a few days ago, you are standing on the wrong side of history.

I know nothing, nothing. All I know this pic is from 2014.

Thank you for the letter and story @Elliot86 and @Matata

The thing I find fascinating about republicans defending this policy is imagine if you lost your small child for three hours. Just imagine the terror you would feel in those hours. Now image finding out that your child had been kept in a cage for those three hours. Every parent would go bat s$&t crazy if someone had treated their child this way. Why do they find it acceptable to treat other peoples children this way?

Because the Trump mob does not see them as human. He said today they are infesting our country. Humans don't infest; animals do. It is repulsive and against God.

We have a morally bankrupt leader who will do anything to maintain power. We have white supremacist Stephen Miller as his architect.
