This Weekend...

Hey Ladies... (brace yourself...long post!)

So I''m back from our mini vacation...and there was no proposal

It was a great weekend, (mostly) but I can''t help coming out of it slightly disappointed. We drove to San Fran on Saturday late morning and had lunch at this restaurant (Cliff House) that was on a cliff ( go figure!) and overlooked the ocean. It was so pretty and the food was great. Then he mentioned going to walk on the beach, and I said "of course" cause I was up for anything, just in case ya know... but then when we got back to the car, he plugged in our next destination into the gps to see how long it would take us to get there, and decided that maybe we shouldn''t walk on the beach...not enough time. Ok...so no proposal on the beach. Then our next surprise destination was a bed and breakfast in Napa. So we got there and checked in, and the place was super cute. Old little room with an electric fireplace, and a "sunroom" that had a jacuzzi tub

It was all very sweet. But then I found out that the reason we didn''t have dinner plans was because he didn''t know what time we''d be there and how hungry we''d be...So no surprise proposal for dinner. But we had a very nice night. Then we woke up, had breakfast and headed back home from Napa because we were supposed to have lunch at a "surprise" location. But then as we got to the restaurant, some family drama that had started a week or so back for SO''s parents, kinda blew up into something huge that day. So, for our actual anniversary lunch he spent 3/4 of the time outside on the phone with various family members. So I was all by myself. And then we basically spent the rest of the night dealing with his family issues. He felt really bad because of how everything happened on sunday, and I told him it was all fine, and not to worry, and that I''d be there to support him with all thats going on. But I can''t help but feel slightly let down. So that was my weekend. Not exactly what I expected to say the least.......

On a happier note, he knew that I was expecting it, and apologized for it not happening, but said that it will happen very soon. And while getting money out his wallet for the toll booth...I saw a business card from a jeweler that I wasn''t supposed to see

So I suppose that''s promising.

Not a lady, but I''ll throw in my $.02..

To me, it looks like he definitely had a proposal planned until the family issues came up. I don''t see why he''d apologize for it not happening unless he really had planned it but was too distracted or felt it was too unromantic to be dealing with family stuff while trying to force in a half-distracted proposal. I''d look at the optimistic side of it - he knows that''s what you were hoping for and probably expecting, and I''m sure he''s well aware to encourage better timing on the next attempt to not have to deal with family stuff until you two get home. Don''t look into the business card as direct evidence though - I take business cards from people all the time who I have no interest in dealing with, so he may not associate with that particular jeweler at all. Keeping the card gives me enough of an indication that he''s looking for rings, and my bet is that he had one ready on the trip for the right moment - which seems unfortunately was delayed due to the family issues.

Definitely promising - solely because he knew that''s what you were expecting on the trip and he was likely hoping for a proper proposal this weekend as well.

I''m so sorry hun

...it does seem like he may have had something planned but if he did the cliff resturant would
have been perfect right? Or with champagne and roses in the hot tub?

Anywho...it does look like it may be coming very soon so *try* to sit back and relax for a while!
