Just recently purchased and would like some ideas on how to mount. It's a .60 pink tourmaline...
open to any suggestions! Thanks in advance

Well everyone, I've been looking at this stone for a few days more, and it is rather small, so for now I think I'll leave it in FI's mineral/gem collection display cabinet (he's got hundreds of specimens!) until I can figure out what to do with it and do is justice.

I have just purchased a 1.16Ct rectangular cut Kyanite stone, and will post a pic soon! I think we'll have more to work with in terms of setting it.

Thank you all for the suggestions on "Pinky", I will keep you posted on it!

I''ve always admired this setting.

Thank you! That is very nice, I like the stone mounted in that fashion. I have to admit, I''m a white gold or platinum person though...

What about a simple setting with baguettes on the side?

Gorgeous stone, love it!!!

What is your budget for the setting??

Are you thinking of mounting it specifically in a ring? Or are you open to pendant options, as well?

Yum! Beautiful stone...I would love to see that (personally) in a pendant with a diamond pave halo in white gold. Or if I wanted a ring, a clean, white gold setting would do the trick for me! Good luck!

Ladies:
I like Innerkitten''s idea of simple with baguettes for a ring. My budget is flexible, however, don''t want to go overboard. Got a wedding to plan for next Sept in a foreign land

!

I think white gold would work, budget wise...pendant? Sure, but the stone is on the smaller side, it''s only .60

Well this was posted earlier this week by another person trying to choose a setting.

And these ideas with baguettes but picture your stone.

How about this kind of wide polished ribbon for white gold Clarygrace? because if you would have liked yellow i would suggested hammered finish very narrow band with bezel for the stone this size.
What kind of dog is it? A pointer?

Thank you can you share more pics here please?

PS Administrator:
I wish I had a weimeraner...the pic is from William Wegman''s collection...he does wonderful work with these guys with whom he has lived for the past 40 some odd years...they are great dogs!

I have a cat, Cleo is her name and she''s 16 1/2 yrs old in great health and rules the house!
I''ll get some pics up here soon!

Thanks again for your posts! I feel special having the PS Admin write to me!

I think the cartier asscher setting style would be gorgeous with this stone!!

That stone is a knockout!

I''d do a ring over a pendant...It''s hard to keep pendants clean (skin oils just get on ''em, it''s a fact of life) and with a step cut like that it might not sparkle as much as a result.

I''d love to see that with some baguettes and a thin band...it is GORGEOUS!
