Thoughts on the Tiffany harmony band with my solitaire?

Tiffany & Co doesn’t seem to have the same quality standards in some respects as it did in days gone by. Melee D-I seems like a very broad range for them! I too think it is more cut than color but still am very surprised to hear about this range of color. Hope you are able to get the ring exchanged.

I'm working on it! SA wants me to make another appointment but I dont want to make one until they get a replacement only because its kind of out of the way so I would like for it to be a one stop appointment instead of "taking a look at it" and deciding you know?

Yes, absolutely. I hope they get another one in soon!

Hate to rain on the parade - the white ring if white gold will wear through the rose gold in a few to several years. If platinum it will be all over for the band inside 3 to 4 years.

I asked my SA at Tiffany about this and also my whiteflash SA when I was browsing rose gold rings there and they both said that wasn’t the case but something to consider I suppose.

46 years of seeing this happen. The SA may not understand metallurgy.

That’s good information to know. Thanks for reminding us of the pitfalls of mixing metals Gary.

Is this the case even if nothing is "rubbing" and the rings don't move a whole lot? The prongs aren't touching. Is this because the white gold is 14k and the rose is 18k? I'm just trying to understand the risk.

You should have the same metals side by side or be prepared to manage the costs of replacement and emotional loss of a wedding ring.
The thin band you are proposing will wear more at the back than the top because you grind them together when you close your hand.
The amount of sliding and movement - how often you clean grit off etc.
Lots of variables.

A very easy exchange. A few sales associates looked and agreed the one stone pulled dark. Not sure how it got past QA but it was a really easy exchange process. I went up half a size too which worked out well because it’s actually more comfortable. Something special about a WF e-ring paired with a Tiffany band. I also borrowed DH’s bracelet for the day lol

So glad they made the exchange easy for you! Great outcome all the way around!

I'm so glad it worked out. Please always understand that you're never wrong to request and expect the quality you are paying for, especially with an upcharged branded piece.
It looks absolutely lovely and I love the mixed metals

Love it! What’s your other band look like? Just curious

I appreciate that. I was feeling a little bad about it but man its an expensive purchase.

I have a beautiful eternity band but h find for daily wear the three rings feel a little awkward and I work in a power a plant so I’ve whacked her a few times…I wanted a band better for daily wear that sits more flush and no diamonds on the undersideCEA6B44B-6020-4908-8474-BC99D2EDC0ED.jpeg

Your set is so pretty! I love it!

I'm glad it was an easy exchange. I agree with you on the luxe factor of an ACA paired with Tiffany! You wear them so well!
