Thoughts on this antique peruzzi diamond

I don't know if Alex DM'd you more info, but just based on the Insta post, he doesn't actually claim it is a true antique ..."Cut in an antique Peruzzi style, this elongated cushion is just amazing. The tall crown and chunky facets give it that old world charm. These statements to me translate to newly cut in an antique style ...

I do think it is a beautiful diamond, lovely shape and facets, strong blue fluor, and well-priced ... Alex has a return policy, so perhaps worth buying and checking it out in your home, so you can see how the facets play IRL ...

Hahaha oh no not at all. I think we all prioritise things differently. I'm not even allowed a credit card lol so that limits me a lot in what I can purchase and which vendors I can work with. It seems like you've got a fair few projects on the go, so totally understand it. And I guess there are doubts with this stone too, like its not 100% you. And it was smart getting others to critique it. :)

Now we just need to find someone to buy it, and show us lots of photos!

I do think the language is misleading in the post. It should say it's a modern stone cut in an antique style. I personally don't mind this (cut to look antique) but I know some people do.

I asked him if it was antique in a DM and he replied that it was cut that way. What you copied and pasted is different from what I see, so not sure if we are looking at the same thing: 'Absolutely amazing antique cushion cut diamond! This style is often called a Peruzzi cut, and this one is elongated. The video shows just how tall the crown is and how chunky the stone is. It has a look and charm that you just don’t get with traditionally cut diamonds." To me the copied statement is confusing and someone could interpret (as I did at first) that it was a true antique.

Yeah I didn't see the "cut in peruzzi style" but either.

Edited: okay I just saw it on his latest post 7 hours ago that stated this.

It would be a deal breaker for me lol. So that is misleading. Lol thank you for saving me from buying this ;-)

I pay may balance off every month but I cannot live without credit cards because I'm obsessed with the points! I've gotten many free flights because of cc points lol.

You are good! I'm sticking to layaway or low budget items for everything. Whatever works right?

‘antique cushion cut’ as a descriptor hasn’t meant true period piece antique stone for quite a while for many items.
I can’t imagine vendors changing.

newly cut stones really being marketed as old is another issue. Either straight out lies or by pointed omission. But I didn’t think that was the intended case with this particular stone that started the thread. Pretty stone!

It's a beautiful diamond, and the price IMHO is good.

I don’t think he was trying to mislead. I did notice that the caption has been changed since I asked him the question though. I wouldn’t hesitate to buy from him as he has good reviews and pretty stones. I just kind of came to my senses about finances...I need that money tree to spring in my backyard!!!

He’s now selling two for 10k for both.
