Thoughts on this Cushion Modified Brilliant Plot?

I have been browsing james allen cushion cuts and every stone that catches my eye ends up having this facet plot. Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on this particular plot?

I love the glittering/ sparkling/ twinkling look esp. on the cushion modified brilliant (I prefer Old European Cut on round shapes b/c I prefer to see big flashes on a round shape and I would personally choose an OEC over a round brilliant any day, but most people love round brilliants as it's the most popular shape), I personally enjoy the crushed ice look. Some people don't like cushion modified brilliants/ don't like the crushed ice look. But some people don't like round brilliants, either, and or other cuts and shapes! So whatever you are drawn to is what you should get! But make sure that whatever you get, get the best cut you can in it because that's what will make the most difference in any stone!!

Oops I looked at that so fast and still have new baby brain I thought it was like mine but looked back again and it's not BUT I love cushions and it's lovely in my opinion and bottom line get what you like for sure with the best cut!

That's the plot for my recently acquired cushion and after searching around what I found was that it is called the "X factor" plot.

That is all I have found on it so far, but I will tell you that I love my diamond and it has alot of brillance and fire.

Thanks lookingagain! Great article. This cut seems to have the best of both worlds. I picked the stone out based only on loving it's appearance as opposed to educating myself on what is "most desirable" in cushion cuts first. It seems many prefer an old mine cut, which is also beautiful, but based on how difficult it seems to get one I'm happy my preference is the X factor cut

I haven't figured out how to get a good photo of it yet. Every one I take is blurry and doesn't really look like my stone. Here is the best I could do.

Beautiful! It is so hard to get close up pics, only works if you have a good close up setting on the camera or a ridiculously $$$ camera I get annoyed when I try to take pics of mine, it never comes out well either!
