This one is a bit smaller than the one you posted, but looks pretty...
That photograph is so weird you may want to ask them to send you other pictures though because the strange way it’s photographed it might pick up the warmth way more than in real life.

I saw this one too but the stone didn't really speak to me based on pictures and the setting isn't quite what I'm looking for. This process is hard!
I wanted to provide an update that I have been in touch with the jeweler for the original 4.5 ct ring who is very nice and said up front he does not want me to purchase unless I see it myself. We got to exchanging geographic information and he happens to have a friend who owns a shop 10 min from where I live, so I'll get to see it with my own eyes early next week. I'll keep you all posted! In the meantime, I'll continue to peruse the webs.
I’m late to the conversation and haven’t read the whole thread, sorry. IMO The larger stone seems leaky, and the bezel is actually hiding some of the leakiness. Bezels typically make the facets of a diamond more defined and contrasty. Bezels also make for a steelier stone. The bezel may also be hiding girdle flaws, such as asymmetry, recutting or chips. The large stone also looks included (but maybe it’s due to the photography?) It’s also not very symmetric, which is common in antique stones, but that affects light return. The better the symmetry the better the light return, typically. A GIA report would determine the things that you need to know in order to determine a price. What I like about it is the very large facets and size. But I am concerned about what the diamond would look like out of the bezel. It’s something you need to see before you purchase, IMO unless you want to keep it bezeled.
The size is TDF but as far as the stone goes yours is still so much prettier! Also you said that one thing that was attractive to you was it was a complete ring yet now you are talking about a new setting too. I’m not sure it would be worth the hoopla of doing all that. Just my 2 cents
The next time I'm in the market for a stone I am taking @Tourmaline with me!
Thank you all, really appreciate your help and compliments to my current stone.
@Tourmaline it's amazing you spent years looking for the right stone! Your patience is incredibly admirable and it's clear your waiting paid off. Are you familiar with this stone?
I also love this ring but it's several thousand over my budget: https://jackweirandsons.com/product...uropean-cut-diamond-solitaire-engagement-ring
OP- FYI,we can see your name in the Youtube video link.
I’ve shown this one before and you said it was not what you wanted, but it’s SO much nicer than the ones you’ve been looking at.

I am looking at this one again... what made you not purchase this stone? I was looking for facets a little chunkier than the elongated petals but the video on their ebay listing (which somehow I just noticed now) is very pretty.
What about these one? Technically labeled OMC so not sure if you will like the facet pattern.
4.11ct Old Mine Cushion Cut Diamond Solitaire, GIA N VS1
One of my favorite looks of all time: a rather large diamond in a simple and sleek solitaire. Our beautiful and super chunky old mine cushion cut diamond has found the perfect home in this 6-prong solitaire - the yellow gold setting is a great contrast to the diamond's incredibly white facing...www.jewelsbygrace.com
4.85ct Art Deco Old Mine cut Diamond Solitaire, GIA N SI2
Talk about wow! I love everything about this ring - from the stunningly faceted old mine cut cut diamond, to the simple (and original!) illusion setting, and to that way it sits ever so elegantly on the finger. The diamond is much whiter facing than its graded color, and 200% eye clean. Great...www.jewelsbygrace.com
I LOVE this ring except for the setting, but Grace said my trade in would need a GIA cert first and that the trade in value would be at wholesale so the amount I would get would be nowhere near what I paid which is not super appealing. They were also willing to knock off $400 for the setting.
