Thoughts on wearing platinum and 18k gold together

I have a platinum wedding set, but I'd like to stack one or two yellow/rose gold bands with it. Will the platinum wear on the gold or vice versa? Is it safe to wear them together on a daily basis?

I've seen plenty of multicolored stacks on pricescope. If it shows signs of wear you can stop wearing them together. You know we'd love to see photos!

YES. I mix all the golds I have on right now two stacking 18K yellow gold bands, platinum diamond band, 14K white gold diamond band and 18K pink gold diamond band

Gold can wear away over time. But I'd have zero problem having some extra stacking bands in gold to wear with my platinum rings.

I say go for it, although I can't speak to the platinum/gold rubbing issue. This thread sold me on going 18k unplated white for my new ER. My wedding band is an 18k yellow eternity band.

I really like the idea too! The thread OECs linked to and several others have some great ideas in them. It's like I tell my fiancé, there are no rules! Do what makes you happy! And if that means collecting few little wedding bands so you can alternate your look when you like - so be it!

I have no problem with my different metal stack. Everything wears down in the end, even if you just wear platinum with platinum. But it really takes decades for them to wear down so it's perfectly safe.
