Throwing another W Dress into the mix

Oh, the Becca wins hands down. It is simply the most stunning dress on you. It really would be a shame if you had to "settle" on the less-than-perfect dress because your SIL (it''s your SIL, yes? Can''t remember) feels it would be more meaningful if you bought one you shopped for together. Any chance she will relent on that? Show her this thread!!!

sorry I meant lace and band dress. I think the becca is waaaaay better than rosette, no doubt about it, and better than the others too because it is flattering and goes with a garden wedding. More importantly, you think it''s the best! Really, that is what matters. If Becca is out of the question, then I apologize for pushing it, but I know that if I offered to buy someone''s wedding dress I would absolutely positively want them to get the dress they wanted, not the one I happened to see them in on a 45 minute shopping trip.

By the way, I love the ruffly dress, and with altering, I think it wouldn''t be so overpowering up top. HOwever, that is the type of dress that you have to love yourself to wear because it is the type of dress that people will either love or hate because it''s so memorable. YOu can''t listen to what a boy says... what do they know? I''d rather wear a dress that some people hate and some people love and everyone remembers than a dress that takes it safe and looks like everyone else. I think the Becca is gorgeous, has all the elements, will be memorable and isn''t as "risky" as the ruffle dress. It''s the best of both worlds because it''s fresh, memorable, but not too surprising like the ruffles might be for some people.

You look gorgeous in all these dresses, so whatever YOU want, that''s the dress to go for.

The ruffles dress is cool, but it remind me so much of drapes my Mom had when I was growing up..so I am going with the rosette!

But that's just a personal thing for me, most people probably wouldn't feel that way.

ETA: Changing my vote..just saw the Becca!

Now voting for that!

For me, Becca >>>> Rosette > Bands > Satin >>>> Ruffle. I do not like the ruffle dress at all. But that''s just me, and if you love it, great! But is there any way to try on the Becca with your SIL so it becomes an option again? IMHO, it beats all the others by light years.

I actually love the CH dress. However, it sort of reminds me of similar construction to what Vera Wang and some other designers have been doing latley. I wonder if you''ll look at that and say that was in style the year of my wedding. I do however think that it looks beautifull on you. I still love it and think it is very fashionable and something that I haven''t seen a real bride wear before. I went to 15 weddings in the past two years and most of them were in the NYC area so I don''t say that lightly.

The other dress up for consideration looks awesome on you but I am bothered by the lariat looking thing in the middle.

Ok. I originally liked the rosette the most. But that''s because I''m not a lacy kind of chick.

Here is my order (and it was based only on the dresses, because girl, you look fantastic in ALL OF THESE):

1. Bands
2. Ruffles
3. Satin
4. Rosette
5. Becca

But you love the Becca, and it fits your garden wedding. The way I see it, it means a lot to your FSIL if you buy a CH (and what I wouldn''t give to have a FSIL like that!) because you''ll have found it together. Another thing to think about is that there isn''t really anything distinctive about Becca-it looks like a lot of the gowns out there right now. The Ruffles is the most distinctive and unusual, Satin is also not incredibly distinctive, Rosette kind of reminds me of an antique dress, and I am not in love with the ribbons either. The Bands is simple and lets your figure shine and take center stage.

Ultimately I think you should go with what your heart tells you. I''d have such a hard time passing up any one of those CHs though. Really, you''re going to look amazing regardless of which one you wear.

Just out of curiosity, what does the back of the bands look like? I can''t really tell because the picture is kind of small.

(And how can you consider shoes to be unimportant?!

Please don''t compromise on your wedding dress!! You will regret it!!! I am sure your family will understand that you need to get the dress of your dreams!! Pick the one you love, not the one you feel you have to love.

Sugarjo: Are you the kind of person who can command a room simply by walking into it? The person everybody gravitates towards and wants to be associated with? The one person who radiates calm in the midst of a storm? Would your friends and family describe you as supremely self-confident, and/or sassy? If any of these describes you, then the ruffles might be the dress for you. It's a dress with an outsized personality. It will compete with the bride for attention, IMHO, and any bride who doesn't have that kind of confidence or "it" factor (or a beautifully proportioned 5'10"+ frame) will lose the competition. I know I couldn't compete with that dress -- I'd probably accidentally spill some red wine or yellow mustard on it at the first opportunity!

Your 50 minutes is up. Next dress, please make yourself comfortable on the couch!

Seriously, I still love the Becca. Hard to tell much about the two new entries from the photos, but thos sillouettes look great on you too!

ditto. After seeing the Becca again it''s hands down my favourite!! If she really has to see the dress, is there anywhere in NY that you could go to try it on?

I also still LOVE the Becca! I agree you shouldn''t go with something you don''t absolutely love just because someone else is involved. Personally I say who cares if you tried it on with her. If she wants to gift you a gown she should understand and get you something you want, it is your wedding gown afterall. If you''re still willing to chip in the extra money to cover the difference, then I don''t see the problem.

If she really doesn''t want you to have the dress you love, is there any way you could buy it without her contribution? Because I honestly think you''ll regret settling on one of the CH gowns, no matter how much she liked them on you.

Sorry I''m probably not much help. Good luck!

I agree with the above. I think you REALLY want the becca, you do. and that being said, you should not get anything else or you''ll regret it.
You''ll always wish you had gotten the becca, the others are beautiful dont get me wrong, but the becca what you want.

good luck !

My take on why everyone loves the Becca so much more is that it is the one that fits you best. It is a beautiful dress, for sure, and I do love it, too. But, I think it seems like "the" dress because it fits you like "the" dress would. All the CH dresses are pinned and obviously too big. I think once the others get altered, they will look just as stunning.

I honestly like the ruffle dress the best of all of them. It is very visually interesting, and I disagree with those who say it is too busy. So, I like ruffles > bands > rosette > satin.

I love the ruffle dress on you!!! It looks so whimsical.

I really like the ruffle dress, it is so pretty on you! I think the ruffles on the top are a bit too much though, like others have pointed out, it would be nicer without. I would call the salon and ask if they can make the dress for you leaving off the top ruffle. Then you could have a personalized one of a kind dress as well. I''ve been to a few dress shops now, and being picky myself, am always asking about alterations and exclusions. I have yet to hear them tell me no, of course they might add a small charge, but since you are asking for it to be left off they might not.

Anyway, just something for you to think about/look into.

I still see you in the Becca.

The CH Ruffle doesn''t look like a prom dress to me, it looks like something from a Debutante Ball

Not only that, but you are lost in it IMO.

2nd favorite would be Bands, then Rosette.

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THE RUFFLES! this is the dumbest thing ever i will freely admit, but those dangly things on the rosette dress bother me because they remind me of a lariat, so for some reason, i keep picturing chuck norris a la walker texas ranger wearing that dress! by no means should this be any kind of deterrent if you love the dress because, like i said, it''s possibly the dumbest thought ever voiced on pricescope, but i just had to share my idiocy!

That is sooo funny, I thought the exact same thing with the original thread. From far away it looks like a lariat but from up close it actually is a very pretty detail.

Anyways, the Ruffles dress is my vote--it is amazing and really looks like a Herarra design. It makes a statement.

LMAO!!!!! My Debutante gown looked NOTHING like the Ruffle dress! I wish it had!!!

In fact if I were to compare all of the Debutante gowns to these 5 dresses, the Becca would probably be the closest. Maybe I was just in with a whole bunch of girl who had fabulous taste!

I''m still loving the Bands dress. But I thrive on simple.

BECCA! Oh my goodness... so gorgeous. Breathtaking!!!

Rosette is my second. Then bands. Then ruffle.

But choose the one that''s right for you :) They''re all very, very pretty and incredibly flattering!!! Lucky girl!

I finally made a decision and chose the Carolina Herrera Ruffle dress!! I am really excited about it! It''s interesting, because giving myself a little time to just digest and sit with it, I found that all the other dresses fizzled in my mind....I just lost interest in them, whereas the Ruffle dress and it''s design seemed to intrigue me more and more as time went by. I am very happy that this decision is finally made...now on to the next! :-)

Oh Goodie!!! that was my favorite by a mile, although i didn''t get to post on it. Since you''ve already chosen, i just wanted to cast my vote for a sweetheart neckline for sure - it looks great on you and softens the ruffles up top - what a lucky bride you are!!!

Delighted that you made your decision! It''s a beautiful dress!

Congrats, bright! I think the ruffle dress was stunning!

Congratulations on choosing your dress!!! That''s a great feeling. I didn''t catch this thread the first time around, but I''m glad I''m seeing the pics now. You do look stunning in all of them. Makes the decision that much harder

Congrats on finding the one :D
