I stopped by Tiffany today while I was on my way to get a hair cut. I wanted to take a look at their legacy rings and their cushion cut diamonds since I recently purchased one (will post more on that later). I asked the lady if all Tiffany Legacy style rings were set with really square cushion stones, and she informed me that all cushion cut stones were totally square in shape! I could not believe this is really what she thought! It seemed really surprising to me that someone at Tiffany would know so little about cushions!

Hmm, the legacy diamond is not a cushion. Maybe she just meant that the legacy diamonds are all square. Cushions can be rectangular. The most common outline is the pillow shape.

That''s incorrect. The legacy is a modified square cushion. Someone please correct me if I''m wrong. I would like to know the definitive answer, if I''m incorrect. Thanks!

The legacy is a cushion shape which has step and brilliant faceting.

yep, Tiff''s has a patent I believe. it''s kinda like a cushion but it''s not a true cushion.

Thanks. That''s intesting, the gemologist at Tiffany''s told me it was a modified square cushion. Maybe you guys should take his job ;-) Thanks again1
