I''m glad the info is useful. I never knew how tough it was to find an untreated sapphire on such short notice =)

for diamondseeker, from memory I think the sapphire is 1.14ct and measures around 5.7mm on each side I think. The halo itself measures 10x10mm. I''m rather curious about its color and clarity grade but I never did find it necessary to have the stone or ring appraised in the end.

Thank you! It is encouraging to know that it does not take a huge sapphire to make that ring!

I bet the legacy with a sapphire would be beautiful (I have seen a yellow sapphire, I believe, and aquamarine). I would love it with a blue sapphire...however, would it show off the cut? Not sure, but would love to follow your search for a ring!!!!
Here ya go..., the colors of Legacy (they might have some more....)

I wonder what the price tags are????

I looked at some on Friday. I want a blue sapphire, but what they had in stock was an aquamarine, green tourmaline, and pink sapphire. There may have been a yellow one, can''t remember. The other colors were stunning in the ring. I tried on the aqua and it was in the $6000 range. I imagine the sapphires were more, but I didn''t think to ask to see the price on the pink one. I almost love the Legacy ring more with the colored stone center. The halo really sets off the beautiful color in the center!

UCLABelle posted a comment about a pre-owned Legacy with a blue sapphire at this link: http://www.newyorkestatejewelry.com/item.cfm?int_item_id=6140&category_id=12#. The Legacy looks fabulous in the "idealized" image that DG posted but that one looks lumpy to me - is it banged up from wear, or is that what the real deal looks like? If so I'm not impressed. If that's what the sapphire really looks like I can't complain about the price though.

I am not sure its the Legacy at all..., the mounting looks similar...,BUT

the Sapphire (center stone) is for sure not the Legacy Patented Cut!!!

I see what you're saying about the sapphire, I see now in your image that they're using the same cut for the colored stones. But it looks like the graduated-sides version of the Legacy. Side by side here. I like the "plain" version better.

This is probably too late. Hello! I am NEW here. :-) I do not think Tiffany offers a Legacy ring with side stones with colored gem stones. It is only the less ornate Legacy that carries colored gems. :-)
