Let me just say I hope everyone here is doing well! Happy Halloween! I have stepped away from this forum for a while just to sort of clear my head a little. As some of you may know I really wanted to change my ering. I was looking for something antique looking, but then I also didn''t want to do away with my wedding band, which is more modern looking. I got a bunch of different neat ideas on here, and good opinions but I felt like I was just confusing myself more and more. So I didn''t get on this forum for about a month or so, and my hubby and I have decided on something! While I love the antique look and will always drool over everyones halo''s, i''ve come to decide it''s just not in the cards for me. Maybe a future RHR or something like that, but not for my weddng set. What we have decided on is to go with titanium. I have seen a few prong set titanium rings online, that I absolutly love. We''ve decided to get new matching bands for the both of us. (My hubby already wears a titanium band.) These were two settings I was looking at for my diamond:

Ok...so now to my question! I know some of you wear mixed metals in your wedding sets. Do you think it would be bad if I wore my current plat wedding band next to a titaium band? I''m not aware how badly it would wear. Also, titanium rings cannot be sized correct? So i''m a little wary over ordering online, does anyone know anywhere in MD that sells titanium rings? Also what is your opinion do you think the two metals will look bad next to each other? Do you think the plat inlay will help pull it all together on days that I want to wear the current wedding band?

I have a titanium wedding ring and a white gold and platinum engagement ring. The engagement ring hasn''t shown any wear yet really, but I''ve only worn them together for three months. The platinum is shinier than titanium, so don''t feel funny if the brightness of the two metals isn''t equal. I personally like it because it distinguishes one band from the other and my wedding ring stands out more because it is a little thicker and darker.

As for the sizing question... I am having a similar issue. You can have it sized up about a half a size and they do that by grinding out the middle (that is what they were planning on doing to mine), but I don''t know if they can make it any smaller. I ordered mine online at titaniumrings.com and they were very good, the only downside is that if you want any work done you have to send it in, so I agree with you on getting it locally. I think the platinum inlay would tie everything in very well, but I bet full titanium would be fine, too.

Hope I could help a little

You did thank you!!! Is there a thread on here with your rings? I hadn''t even thought of titanium when I was looking around and it just so happens I have a few friends who have titanium rings, and I absolutly adored them. I hope more people consider this metal when looking!

I don''t have my rings up yet, no... need to get on that. Titanium has also been great for my husband because he puts it through a lot of wear and tear and when I clean it, it''s looks wonderful and the scratches are all gone! I''m so glad someone else liked titanium... I really love it.

I wear a men''s titanium wedding band, and I love it! This is going to sound silly but the reason I went with titanium is that I have a Titanium PowerBook laptop (which will be familiar to Mac users).

Titanium bands are nice. I have a white gold band, and I just went out on to EBAY and bought multiple mens titanium bands for .96 + $11 shipping (I assume they are from China). Its fun to switch off. May sound silly but I do it often. Do a search on ebay for titanium bands you can get them very inexpensively. The mark up at jewelry stores must be extremely healthy due to the availability of this metal and the actual worth.

My titanium band is a dark white, if that makes sense.
My platinum band is a medium grey, but that may be because it''s older.
The two metals don''t look similar at all in shine.

I believe that titanium is sized up by carving out some of the inside of the ring.

We have purchased 3 titanium rings (a fun ring, his engagement ring, my wedding band) from www.titaniumera.com and have been pleased with their service. BM stores tend to have a very limited range and the mark-up is huge.

Larissa, thats the website I got those photos from. They seem to have some really good prices!!! So if you don''t mind me asking whats your engagement ring made out of?
