To cheer us up, the memes thread

There is nothing in this thread from when it was started that said no politics. There have been a sprinkling of political memes all throughout, and quite frankly Trump has turned himself into a meme recently with his OWN comments. If you don't want to look at them, cant you just scroll past? Why the meme-policing?

Telephone, you certainly have a right to your opinions, we all do. However, not everyone shares the same POV. Therefore, it's only in kind consideration, particularly during this stressful time, to ask everyone to keep any and all politics out of this.one.thread. How hard is that to understand? I'm not policing, heck, I have not been here long enough to police or be a mod. I am simply asking as one human to others that we keep this thread as lighthearted as possible. There is enough stress and discord and politics right now. No need to infect this thread with any of it. We all need a little escapism and asking folks to scroll by stuff they may or may not agree with is not escapism. My 2 cents. Newbie out.

Can we all please keep at least this thread fun and light without fighting? Many of us come here for the daily dose of laughter and take a break from the anxiety filled days. Other covid threads are so divided, even the food thread got heated today. So I'm wishing hard that this thread will remain a neutral ground where all of us can get away from things that are weighing us right now.

This is either going to be hilarious or makes your eyes twitch, but turns out there is a reason why I can't stand the phrase "during this challenging times". Compilation of "covid" commercials. Apparently some of them should find a new advertising agency...

I thought you had me on ignore? Didn’t you declare that at some point? Guess you missed me :lol:

Good memory.
Actually, recently, I removed everyone from ignore.
2nd chances, n all. ;))

Back on topic ... with your "all" statement, you must be stating that all of PS's 79,000 registered users "all quickly agreed to adhere to meme policing"?
... but ... I did not notice that thread having 79,000 responses.

So you're just using a dishonest, low-end, writing style.

FWIW, in case you care, sticking to what's true gives you credibility ... well ... that is, if that matters to you.

TIPS FOR RE-OPENING:

During this unprecedented time when many eye clinics are uncertain how to begin re-offering routine care to patients, we at ------- would like to offer some evidence-guided advice for practitioners to have a successful transition to full comprehensive eye care.

1 - Begin to taper alcohol intake 3-5 days before a grand re-opening. Some providers may find it useful to extend the taper into the re-opening, considering modified hours as needed. Staggered ingestion of approximately 1.5 fl oz of 40% ethyl alcohol may have a neuroprotective effect during phasic reintroduction of clinical hours, and effects regarding protection from COVID have not yet been scientifically ruled out.

2 - Re-evaluate the fit of professional attire, particularly in the waistband area. Anecdotal evidence suggests that extended quarantines may affect the critical fit areas of many different popular clothing articles, such as pants, skirts, belts, shirts, and jackets.

3 - Study the efficacy of different alarms. Some find changing the volume and/or tone of an alarm to improve wakefulness and productivity in the mornings. Also altering placement of an alarm in a room may encourage more morning activity in some cases.

4 - Consider triaging patients to maximize use of start-up time. Prioritize patients with urgent needs requiring multiple pairs of specialty eyewear dispensed as soon as possible, while deferring patients who “just need their numbers and PD.”

5 - Re-examine staff roles and duties. While the clinic schedule is lighter, it may be beneficial to cross-train staff in areas such as taking particular interest in an elderly patient’s life story, letterboarding and calligraphy of eye-related puns, and TikTok marketing.

6 - Develop a plan for the care of any minor dependents. It is advisable to suggest to that “(mommy/daddy) will miss them sooo much at work”, regardless of the amount of labor relieved by leaving the little delinquents with a caretaker of choice.

7 - Remember to clean all surfaces, floors, high touch areas and furnishings thoroughly before re-starting routine care. Not talking about your office, of course, but your home, considering you’ve been procrastinating doing so since day 3 of lock down.

These are just a few suggestions as we begin to ramp back up to full clinical capacity, and we hope they prove helpful as we navigate the following weeks and months.
