Toi et Moi with MRBs?

Hi All!

I’m back and now dreaming of a Toi et Moi instead of a 3 stone ring that I thought I wanted for a really long time.

My dilemma (not really a problem), I now want a Toi et Moi but using MRBs. I want to use my 1ctw with a larger RB. I saw a gorgeous stone on Whiteflash that was about 1.43tcw. Would those proportions work together? Can I go bigger? Or do I need to go for another 1 carat? I wanted to go bigger with the 2nd stone.

Thoughts and opinions are welcome!

I decided I wanted something more unique but still classic and beautiful in its own way.

I think the reason you can’t find examples of one large and one small diamond in that setting style is because it makes for an unbalanced design that would trigger the OCD in jewelers and collectors alike.

The large and small combo works but in different styles where the size is a very intentional and much starker contrast, like Pomelo’s ring: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...toi-et-moi-ring-6-years-in-the-making.274650/

That said, if it’s what your heart desires, you could have a jeweler make some CADs for you so you can see how big of a size difference you prefer for your dream setting!

I agree. If the shapes were different, I might feel differently though.
