Transitional cut diamond?

That's a great option! That vendor has some good stuff to consider.

What do folks think about this? Excuse the crap pics, I was trying to take screenshots from a video

Hmm, it is nice and chunky according to this pic…interesting. I like it a lot.

How’s the hunt going, any good contenders? I’m keeping an eye out for you but boy this is quite the challenge!

Best contender so far is the loose one I posted above. Still thinking about if it's quilty/checkerboard enough

I like that it doesn’t scream “engagement ring”.

Is this too much? It looks nice.

* I swear if I actually look for something, I find bupkis. When I'm not I bet like four will pop up.

Oh @ItsMainelyYou, that is gorgeous! I’ve actually seen that ring on a wedding forum, I wonder if it’s the same person. In any case, that one is a beauty.

Omg that's lovely. Not sure it's quilty enough. But it's super nice!!!

What about this one… it’s an I1 though.

I’ve been told my great great grandmothers diamond is an early round brilliant or transitional or something in between. I’m not sure really IMG_8320.jpeg

Just chiming in - I just left my jeweler and one of the older gentlemen who was helping at the counter had a 4 ct vs2 transitional and it was glorious. It had so many, so many sides (?). He bought it 7 years ago from a local antique store for around 30k. I'll take a picture next time. It was incredibly sparkly.

Not sure if you’re still looking but the far right seems like it has potential:

Probably too expensive, but a lovely setting

This is actually a great price for a vs transitional at that size

Agreed on the first link, but it might be too OEC and not checkerboard-y enough.
The second link is a touch expensive but not outrageously so.

I really dig that 'square' mounting!

Is this one too small?
