I got a new Nikon point-and-shoot camera for Christmas--here are some pictures from its first jewelry session.

Kittybean, I never, ever get tired of staring at your engagement ring, I must say!!!

AND, new goodies to feast my eyes on, I see

I love that watch, I''ve had my eye on for about a month now, and HELLO!! That pendant!! When did she get adopted by the Kittybean family?! SWEET! I love how she''s not really a bezel, but kind of is, at the same time! Very pretty!

How are you liking the new camera so far? Your shots look great, and i''m wondering how this one is, compared to the last camera you had...

Lovely pictures! I never get tired of looking at your ring... It''s fantastic!

Thank you so much, Mediterranean! I''m not yet tired of the e-ring either =).

Glad you like the watch. I was thinking of getting a black strap to have if I want to wear it to work or in case this one breaks. I really like the blue color, though. I think it will definitely be fun. FI bought it a little while ago, so maybe it will be on sale now after Christmas!

The pendant has actually been in my possession for a while! I just never thought to post it here (silly me!). It was a present from my grandmother for my college graduation. At the time, I didn''t really like it, but I don''t know what I was thinking then because now I absolutely love it. It''s very delicate, and the way it''s set is perfect for the size of the stone. It makes it look a little larger from far away, but when you get close, you can see how interesting the design is.

So far, I''m enjoying the camera. I expected it to be much, much nicer than my old camera (a 3-year-old 5.0 megapixel Olympus), but I haven''t found it to be vastly better. I like having more megapixels (8.1, I think), and it takes higher-quality pictures at night. What''s great about it is it''s only .75" thick, which will make it super-easy to tote around to parties and on our honeymoon. It also has a nice display screen. I would like to get a DSLR to take on our honeymoon, also, and to amateur-photograph my friend''s wedding later this summer; hopefully I''ll make it happen.

I got the Nikon S202 (the "Coolpix," although I really don''t care for that name). Sorry they were long in coming--here are some more RHR pics:

About this ring: it was given to me by my grandmother for my law school graduation, and therefore I don''t know much about it. The sapphire is about 2.5ct, set in (quickly yellowing) white gold. The stone has some inclusions, but that gives it character, right? I believe it was heated to enhance the color.

This one is my favorite--maybe because it has the "Motherland" in the background

Here''s an idea of what it looks like on my hand. It is a size 3 for my right hand ring finger, but I can''t seem to take pictures with my left hand, so here I''m wearing it on my size 2.5 left hand ring finger.

Not the best pic, but this is what it looks like indoors, at night:

Oh man, looking at these pics makes me think my RHR needs some serious rhodium TLC.

Thanks Coati, Burk, LuckyTexan, aggie012, and Sizzle for your kind words. I''ll surely be posting more photos of my e-ring and pendant in the near future (heck, the pendant still needs its own thread!). Thanks for letting me share with you.

AWESOME pieces KB!!!!

Kitty, don''t feel bad, I can''t take pictures with my left hand either. That''s why everything I take photos of winds up on my left hand.

You have a size 2 1/2 ring finger? OMG, my pinkies are a size 4 and 4 1/4. You''re so tiny!

Your sapphire is a gorgeous gorgeous color! and your e-ring is of course.......

I love that sapphire. Yummy!

Kitty - I think your RHR is gorgeous! And it being a gift makes it even more sentimental, I think!

This camera takes great pictures for being a point and shoot. Pretty good to me- haha the one I use is probably more than 5 years old, haha. But it''s good for its time, and still is pretty capable.

I also just got a Nikon D90 for Christmas - if you''re still thinking of getting one, you''ll absolutely LOVE it if you love taking pictures. Just make sure you''re patient enough to actually LEARN how to use it - it''s taking a lot of reading and practicing and learning how to get the best photos in different conditions so I use all the camera''s (thousands of) capabilities!! It''s an AMAZING camera though - you''ll so enjoy a DSLR if you get one!! I''m having so much fun with mine, and we''re about to go on a snowboarding trip and I can''t WAIT to get the awesome photos with it!!
