Trillion Setting

I am setting an 8x8 trillion in a ring for my mom and am having the hardest time looking for a setting that isn''t overly gaudy or huge. She is small (barely 5 ft 2in) with short fingers. I''d prefer to go with something simple or not so clunky. Any ideas?

I found this here on PS. The one on the left looks pretty unique but not too contemporary.

Will this end up looking huge for an 8mm x 8mm gemstone? I like the simplicity and clean lines.

What about this Mark Morrell? This one is set with a pear but it would work with a trillion.

I like your very traditional option the best. I think an 8mm stone is quite large. To surround it with a bezel will make it at least 1 full centimetre across. Perhaps this might be too big for your mother''s hands.
