I can''t keep up with everyone''s picks! With all these choices you''re never going to get a consensus ... yanno? Is this confusing you more than helping?

i was thinking that too, but she did mention that she did have her favorites but just didn''t want to share, so maybe she''ll go with one of those, in the meantime, it is fun seeing all the dresses

This is overwhelming just a tad, but that doesn''t mean I want it to stop. Lol! In another day or so, I am going to make a tally chart. No kidding!

Thank you purselover, Dannielle, ficklefaye, and rhbgirl24!

Deco - You have hit the nail on the head as always! I am too worried about what others think. Because I am at a loss as to what to think. I have always been a very indecisive person and often rely on the opinions of other people to help me out; I often am able to realize what my true opinion is once other people give me theirs. However, with my dress shopping, this just isn''t working. Perhaps it is simply I haven''t found THE dress yet. There are a few close calls. Thank you so much for the story, it made me think ACK!
14.gif
Glad I am not going custom like that, because you never know what is going to happen! Glad you did find your dream dress! Dress #3 from this trip really did feel wonderful, it felt great on, it looked good in the mirror, and FI LOVED it! My one concern is the back and my muffin top so to speak.

Jstar - Altered strapless is something I have been thinking about with many of the dresses I try on in that style. I will have to look at trying AA dresses on like you and PP suggested. The shop I want to visit next carries them. Budget is a huge issue for me as well, but I am learning the difference between cheap and expensive gowns!!!

House Cat - You are very correct, the only reason we didn''t stop there is for $$$ The dresses from that trip are $700 and up. But if I am able to spend that kind of money, I will be returning to try that dress on again. One thing to keep in mind, is that dress was too big on me, and may very well have the same muffin top issue as other strapless, but I may also add straps to it. Thank you for the reply!

Rock of Love - Thank you for the opinion and details on what you feel flatters me well. Quite a few people have said they like #4 from this trip, I only tried it on because my FMIL wanted me too, and I think I dismissed it because of that and didn''t give it any thought. But my own mother actually thought it was ok for a strapless.

Ladies -

As far as just getting more confused, nope, not happening! I am actually going to make a tally sheet from all visits plus this one. Look at the results, and see if there are any real favorites between all of you. Despite people saying different things on here, it helps me affirm some of my beliefs, see what my BM and mother are seeing, or makes me think, ummmm no. LOL! So thank you, thank you! I think I am going to take a little break, and when I go back to the last two stores, really go in with a well defined idea of what I want.

Oops, I was going to tell you what my personal favorites are too!

Trip #1 - #2 I felt like a goddess in as my BM likes to say. It was a wonderful looking dress, but it was heavy for my back and would need to be bustled. #8 combined so many great elements, assymetrical ruching, sweat heart neckline, corset, and tank style. It could be a real winner, but it was the last dress and we were there right up until closing and they were trying to get rid of me so I couldn''t really spend any time in the dress.

Trip #2 - #1 was incredible! Very unique, gorgeous detailing, not too heavy as it is organza, but expensive for us! #4 was lovely, but I think its just a little over the top and too expensive with all the lace. Although I agree the shape and fit is really flattering on me.

Trip #3 - I initially really liked #2, but looking at the pictures the bodice is so flimsy it doesn''t do much for my shape. #3 was pretty good looking except it is discontinued and I need one size up. I would have to purchase the sample and I do not like the idea of doing this. #7 was really nice, but again on the heavy side and needs to be bustled. Not sure my poor little back can handle this.

Trip #4 - #3 was my absolute favorite, until my mom spoke up, I thought I may have found THE dress. Now I''m not so sure. FI was absolutely floored by this dress. #2 is just a little too horizontal with the ruching and I felt it emphasized the width of my waist too much. Like I said I dismissed #4 because it was FMIL''s pick and I would do anything to not let her think she won or knows what is best. Maybe I should try it on again if I don''t find something better in the future.

OK, with that, I am going to tally! And if others still want to chime in, please do so! Thank you all again! I wonder some days what I would do with out all you wonderful PSers to help in situations like this!

Okay from each trip, these are my favorites:

Trip 1 - Dress 2
Trip 2 - Dress 1
Trip 3 - Dress 7
Trip 4 - Dress 2 (especially if you changed it to a sweetheart neckline!)

In order of my preference by selections above: Trip one, Trip two, Trip four, Trip three. In all honestly though Trip one and two was hard to choose between, they both look fabulous on you and I could see on your face in the pictures that you felt fabulous in those dresses.

That''s a whole lotta dresses! Have you been thinking of any of them a lot since trying on?
I''d have to vote
2nd trip #1 & #4
4th trip #4

Do you have your venue yet?

Thank you audball! I agree with your top two choices!

Luvbug - My venue is my synagogue, there is a minor chance we would do the reception at one of the state parks. But I am terrified of bad weather! Thanks for the vote!

I''m a weather scaredy cat too!
#4 from your last trip would be so pretty for an outdoor reception but I see that''s FMILs fave. So I gues that''s out LOL

oh no, but what if FMIL is right?
6.gif

I really like the cut the of dress #1 from this trip -- it''s very elegant on you, and I think it''s the most figure-flattering of the dresses you''ve shown us. But... it seems to be so plain for a dress that you''d be wearing on such a special day! #3 from your first trip had a similar cut, but the sample was too small -- would it be possible to find a sample of that dress that''s closer to the right size? Or would it be possible to use that beautiful lace you bought to somehow dress up the first dress? (These dresses fit my personal preference for "simple elegance"
2.gif
).

The other dresses I liked were #3 and #7 from "take 3." I also (***she ducks***) kinda like the dress your FMIL preferred -- take 3 #6. From the front, it''s the e most designer/runway looking of the dresses you tried on. My amin hesitation with that one is that the back looks a little boxy. I don''t suppose it would be at all practical to take some scissors and give it a bit of a scoop back?

Didn''t think so.

Anyhow, that''s my $.02 worth, but I''m from a whole different (as in much older) generation so you should discount my opinion by 50% or more!

If I have to concede that FMIL is right, I will. I am not against it completely. Lol. I think I just never gave that dress two thoughts, ya know.

VRBeauty - Thank you for the opinion - and I usually say those with more experience know what they are talking about!
28.gif

you have to stop trying on dresses! You will never be able to pick one. Sometimes too many choices is worse than not enough.

As far as which to pick....which one do you think about the most? And there is one that you keep going back to, I''m sure of it.

Good luck! And since I ran down a detailed list of shopping trip #2, I hope you pick something from that trip...haha! Good Luck!

from this trip, I would have to agree with FMIL-I think that number 4 is gorgeous on you. The detailing under the bust is beautiful and the dress flows down so nicely.

Trip number 1 - I think that 8 followed by 2 are the nicest.
Trip number 2 - number 1
Trip number 3 - number 1
Trip number 4 - number 4

I think you should go with your gut though-who cares what others think. You said that you felt like a goddess in number 2 on your first trip-that''s how you''re meant to feel in your wedding dress. Your BM or your mam isn''t wearing it-you are so make sure that you choose it based on how you feel, not how others feel. Can''t wait to see which one you pick!

ils, I have not followed many of your posts but seeing MOA in the title caused me to open it as I too am from the Twin Cities so please forgive me for not knowing your shopping history.

If you have not already been there, I really recommend you try Mary Kay Bridals in Richfield. She is in a small shop on Penn Ave. off of Hwy. 62. She has a woman fitter in there that is amazing with us brides that are not a size 8! This woman met with me and within in hour, I had 3 solid dresses that fit fantastically, flattered my figure like nothing else ever has, and was in my limited budget. I can''t say enough about what a treat it was to shop there. I was terrified to even start looking as I did not think I would find samples that fit but they were so friendly and accomodating.

I did not have to look after being in Mary Kay''s. I knew I had found what I wanted.

I wish you luck! There is so much available in the TC so it gets to be so very daunting. You will look beautiful in whatever you choose.

Hey sparkles...how''s the tally coming??? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
9.gif

Thank you Lala!

Bee* - Thank you dear! It is true that I just can't please everyone so I might as well please myself. FI said something along the lines of, "not to be selfish, but shouldn't you hold my opinion the highest, if you know what I mean." I laughed pretty hard!

jmtomaui - Thank you for that tip! I will have to look into this salon when I decide to get back on the horse! Maybe I should go there first and perhaps I will get to skip the last two trips I have been thinking about taking! Really appreciate the info!

ROL - you got my butt in gear this morning! Thanks!

OK, I went through all four threads and made a tally. I did give the dresses mentions in this thread extra points even if it was the same person voting a second time in this thread in addition to the original thread. Two reasons, I couldn’t keep track any other way, and if the dress was that great to be mentioned a second time, I figured is deserved another vote. The percentage listed is the percent from that trip only, since you cannot create a percent with the sample sizes having such a wide range. Yes, I may be going just a little nuts. But this was fun!

Trip 1 Tally and %
1: 3 / 4%
2: 36 / 47%
3: 2 / 3%
4: 5 / 7%
5: 11 / 14%
6: 3 / 4%
7: 3 / 4%
8: 13 / 17%

Trip 2
1: 28 / 39%
2: 1 / 1%
3: 1 / 1%
4: 23 / 32%
5: 5 / 7%
6: 2 / 3%
7: 3 / 4%
8: 6 / 8%
9: 2 / 3%

Trip 3
1: 4 / 15%
2: 9 / 35%
3: 2 / 8%
4: 0 / 0%
5: 2 / 8%
6: 2 / 8%
7: 7 / 27%

Trip 4
1: 2 / 13%
2: 3 / 19%
3: 3 / 19%
4: 8 / 50%

My fave: #1 from Trip Three
I wanna vote again ... because I''m peeved my top choice didn''t get enough votes percentage-wise to get bolded. Doesn''t the fact it got a vote from the *very stylish* Bee count for anything??!!!
3.gif
9.gif

HA! I just bolded it MYSELF. Take that! Anyway, what I really wanted to say it that I think the main picture of it is awkward, with you kinda holding up the top. I bet it would get more votes if it was sitting on you properly. I used my "vision" to imagine it fitted to you & think it does marvelous things for your bustline though I feel a bit pervy saying that, lol! The little bit of texture from the vertical ruching distracts from any "muffin top" action that might possibly occur and directs the eye downward at that point, toward the detailing on the skirt etc.

Think its worth trying on again at the very least but maybe the next place you go will have a clear winner & make all of these votes & charts & bolded & non-bolded choices obsolete!

LMAO! Deco you crack me up! I had to hold the dress up because it was too big and wouldn''t stay up, which you can totally see in the back picture! I liked the front of the picture, even thought the front pick ups were ok which is a lot coming from me! But I hated the train on this gown. It just looked weird! I agree about the ruching, I think the directionality of the ruching is key on dresses and whether it looks good on me. I know it is completely crazy, but the first week of August I just made a date with a BM that I haven''t been able to go dress shopping with yet. But I am done feeling crazy, I hope!

lol, it''s obvious that you haven''t seen me out and about in real life

I think that the dress would look much better if you were pinned into it properly.

when/if you go somewhere that has AA dresses, #1141''s back is almost identical to the favored DB one. i''m biased though
25.gif
i dream of trying on that AA dress. but if you''re in love with the back of #2 from DB then you''ll probably love #1141 just as much as i do!

when all your trips are over i vote you make a bridal gown photo album for an awesome keepsake of all your hard work dress hunting.

and i think i''m going to refrain from voting until you''re done shop-hopping so i can give you a top 10
5.gif
good luck!

I really really like #2 on you! It looks great! I think the dress is perfect the way it is. I had a sweetheart neckline on my dress, and I''m pretty busty, and after the long ceremony, I sat in the car, and the girls came out, and it was difficult to keep the dress up the rest of the day...just a quick thought. but the dress is stunning!

Have I missed it?

ILS, did you reveal your favorite?

Inquiring minds wanna know!
9.gif

So many of these look good on you! Why don''t you narrow it down to your favorite 3 or 5 and then we can weigh in.
2.gif

Oh, girl! You''re too funny with all of this! Which one makes YOU the happiest?

Here are my votes:

dress #2 from trip 1
dress #5 from trip 2
dress #1 from trip 2
dress #4 from trip 4

Good luck!!

i''m back to vote for #4 on trip #4 again, i notice that it''s slightly in the lead
2.gif

Hmmm...but these have the MOST votes.

Trip 1 Tally and %
2: 36 / 47%

Trip 2
1: 28 / 39%
4: 23 / 32%

I think I forsee a "narrowed down" poll coming...what do ya think, sparkles?? You have some great dresses here!!

Squirrly - Thanks, I know which one you are talking about! And the place I am going in a week and a half carries AA dresses!

Thank you for the tip 04diamond<3!

House Cat - I don''t have an absolute favorite, but about 4 or 5 I listed a few posts up!

Thanks for the idea katamari! I will definitely make a poll after the next trip or two if I can''t come to a decision!

Amanda.Rx and FF - are you trying to skew the votes and make me re-tally it all over again
28.gif
Thank you ladies!

ROL - Yeah I was thinking about that, however, I just can''t rule out #8 from the first trip, it combines what I loved from #2 on that trip with straps! I''m not 100% sold on any of the dresses I have tried on, so I''m going to keep on trekking, keep on trying on dresses. Keep on posting!

Thank you again ladies!
