Little Dix is sounding better and better LOL :) Thanks everyone!!!

Hey MePearl- so I'm guessing no ac? That's mandatory for me. I'm such a sweat hog

I just looked and it's beautiful! Everything I want...except for a fourth wall LOL. I need that wall. I don't do bugs and humidity. Was it bad?

I haven''t been to Little Dix Bay, but can vouch that Virgin Gorda is one beautiful place. We bareboat chartered a 50ft sailboat a couple of years ago with friends for 10 days and sailed all around the islands, spending most of our time in Virgin Gorda''s North Sound. We actually hopped off the boat for a couple of nights at The Bitter End Yacht Club www.beyc.com and Saba Rock Resort www.sabarock.com . It was really paradise, and we constantly dream about going back. Next time we''d love to rent Sir Richard Branson''s Necker Island.......I''m really dreaming now!

The only drawback, which has been mentioned, is getting to the islands. You can fly into San Juan, Puerto Rico or St Thomas, USVI and then take a small plane to the Beef Island Airport on Tortolla then ferry over to Virgin Gorda. It can be an all day traveling event.

Keep us posted on your planning...you''re making me want to get out of town!!

MMM - I feel the same way you do about all-inclusive.

I'll toss this into the hat: If PDC has not been mentioned, here are some pics from the ATW forum (the Riu Palace). It's a premium resort but the pricing is moderate. I've been to a Sandals resort and while my experience was not distasteful I feel my money was better spent at other all-incs.

This thread from not too long ago discusses tropical getaways too.

Wherever you go, in line with the SMTR philosophy of PS, you must take pictures.

MMM,
Biras is in Virgin Gorda''s North Sound, too. I swear if you get there you will never want to leave.......it was hard to come back to reality. What''s great is you can do a little hopping from resort to resort via the inter island ferry. Tired of Biras, go to The Bitter End Yacht Club for dinner, then over to Saba Rock for some dancing to their island band......fun people watching

There is a restaurant around the area that we never made it to named "The Fat Virgin"! LOL

Oh, I want to go on vacation

Caneel Bay is fabulous!!!!

Three words:

Aruba, Aruba, Aruba

The food is fantastic, there are lots of activities, the weather is always nice (not in the hurricane line), the water is warm...

I just love it. I''ve been there four or five times in my life. I''m pretty sure I''m going back in November and maybe even buying a timeshare there.

PM me if you want any details!

Anyone ever heard of Ladera Resort in St Lucia? We stayed there last January and it was the most wonderful place on earth for us. 1200 ft up in a rain Forrest and all rooms have 3 walls, plunge pool and very private. Maybe 25 rooms.

I was checking this out - it looks AWESOME! Could you walk anywhere or was it pretty much shuttling back and forth if you wanted a meal in town.
