I know I should have posted in the other thread.. but I wanted to make this one a good one...

OK... we went to the Call backs and the director/owner looks at (MINE''s DAUGHTER) and says "Why is she here?" I said, "well ummm.. she is on the call back list..." She goes... "Oh no no honey.. she ALREADY has the part, we don;t need her for call back!!!" This is just for the other three...!!!" But then she rethinks it and goes... "well, she had better come in anyway so that we can make sure that our choices are going to match well in height and style as her" I almost could not stop smiling. She also told My daughter not to tell the other kids till next Wed. But she said T did FABULOUS and knew that she was going to be in it right away... My daughter is so happy and I am PROUD as a peacock!!!

Thank you Kaleigh.. She was so excited... she called her grandparents and everybody.... Her Big sis was even complimenting her, and I know that meant the world to her.. she is always looking for her older sis''s approval.. and tonight she was basking in it!

Will she be able to keep from telling the kids at school until Wed?
 
At the school is fine... at the studio.. she is going to HAVE to keep it under wraps. I told her that she should be proud, that there were many that did not make it and we would not want to hurt their fellings, so it was best to let the director break it to them. She agreed. I am hoping that she keep it to herself,... but I think she understood and I think that she will.

YAY YAY YAY!!!!!! I would be BURSTING with pride too if I were you!! (I harbor a secret dream....for my daughter to become a very talented ballerina!)

KD! I was soo thrilled... in all honesty I did not think she was going to get it, I kinda feel bad admitting it now. I had already prepared the "Don;t worry honey, we will try again next year, " speech. Be she was so good at auditions, even when the other kids were slouched over and resting when the were waiting their turn, she was staunch and sat up very straight and when they were finished with their turns, other girls just walked off, T walked off on her toes, chin up , smiling and hands dainty.. it was inspiring...

I am sooo proud.. (I just have to keep saying it!!)

Congratulations Mine!!! I know you must be busting with pride. When I was a kid living in Chicago my mother took us to see the Nutcracker almost every Christmas, it was so magical. Take lots of pictures when she is on stage.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I''m so excited for her!! I''ve been pretty involved in the artistic community in my area for a few years now, and I know how much these auditions can be stressful, and getting the parts is soooo gratifying! Yay!

Thank you again everyone.. she is just beaming.. every once in a while she will come into the room and whisper.. "Mommy, I made into the Nutcracker" and then DANCE off into the other room.. YES.. DANCE off...LOL

Gailrmv, it is open (auditions) to dancers from the ages of 8-17. But they have very strict guidelines.. as to how long they have been dancing, what styles they dance and varities..etc..

Ellen, I think it was becuase of how many auditions they have. For exmaple, this was only for 4 parts... they had audtions for other talent ranges and ages throughout the day. They day of audition was hectic for everyone. And, I think that they were not able to get to everyone (to call them and let them know ASAP... We were lucky that we were even told at all... we may have had to wait till next Wed... so we were lucky.

It is so magical PG... I used to see it all the time as well.. I loved it .... It was the one knight that I never mided getting all dressed up and wearing a ncie dress and sitting in huge halll..... my heart has always started racing as soon as I hear the party music..

Thanks Sevens... I will tell her that.. she told me before try outs, not to wish her good luck.. She said "ON the stage mommy, we say "break a leg"!!" LOL

Congratulations! That is a huge honor!

What a little princess you have for a daughter! I remember her pic from your wedding photos and she is just BEAUTIFUL like her mommy! How wonderful that she is smart and talented as well. I don't have any kids yet, but I think I want at least ONE little girl someday! How much fun do you have? I am best friends with my mom and it's just the same as when I was a little girl. Ha ha. I am sure she sees me the same way sometimes. She always calls to see if I'm taking my vitamins!
 
Just thought I would tell everyone what parts she got. She is going to be the "poor" boy in the opening party scene and she is also going to be a Spanish chocolate candy!! So she got double casted!!! We were soooo excited about having 1 part... BUT 2!!! We are estatic. There are only 2 "poor" boys... A little one (T''s part) and an older one (about 13-14) So she is really excited about being able to be "spotlighted" Her other part is a piece of spanish chocolate.. it is she and 4 other girls and the Spanish Pas de deux... we are sooo happy!!

There are 3 performances, they sell out every year. The tickets go on sale at TicketMaster next week!!!

How wonderful for your daughter. I adore the nutcracker. Iused to be a ballet dancer myself when I was younger.
