Given the style of your dress, I think you should really consider the NuBra.

Here''s a recent thread with lots of discussion about it:
https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/bridal-undergarments.36695/
Appletini and jcrow recommend it.

Just to clarify - the NuBra is NOT the same as the stupid adhesive bra cups my mom tried to get me to wear for prom (stiff disposable stick-on bra cups) - it''s made out of silicone that naturally adheres to the body (no glue).
I don''t personally have any experience with it, but seeing how low the back of your dress is, and the way the fabric drapes, I don''t think that a longline low-backed bra is going to look particularly good or be very comfortable.

And I really like your dress, by the way! I think a cathedral length veil would be just gorgeous.
OK I''m more confused than usual. If the NuBra doesn''t have glue, how does it stay on??? My dress isn''t fitted at the bustline, and I think it would slide right off.

One reason I was thinking I would want a longline is that the worst case with a longline is that I''d have to yank at it to keep it up, but with a sticky bra the worst case is that it comes off completely or irritates my skin!

nu-bra doesn''t exactly have glue, but it DOES have an adhesive.. Do you remember when you were little and they had those little crazy ball things with all the little arms.. and if you threw them at a wall they stuck, and then gradually fell down.. ? They are just like that.. lol.. I know this.. becuase at V.S. when things like that get returned worn we have to cut them up and throw them out.. and one time we tried throwing a piece.... it stuck.. So they are not sticky like glue.. they have like a natural stickiness to them that sticks over and over again.

Ok Muddleheaded, you are just a problem child!

LOL. Undergarment issues suck, don''t they! Here''s a thought, if you can''t find a longline bra in the end to fit your dress, and you have to wear the sticky-side bra or fashion tape for support, let''s consider what may happen if your skin does end up getting irritated. First, I would do a test run (maybe buy two sets of bras, both will have double stickies included) and wear one for a couple hours, see what happens to your skin. Also try the fashion tape (it''s clear, comes in a little box) and see what that does to you, or if it will even work support-wise. Next...if you experience irritation that you can''t deal with, obviously you will have to find another option. If it is not that big of a deal, you could always bring antibiotic ointment with you on your wedding day/night and put that on. Also consider your honeymoon...will you be in sun, salt water, etc? If no, you could maybe deal with the irritation and use the ointment to heal up. If yes, the saltwater tends to heal up skin abrasions/rashes rather quickly, just be sure to use lots of sunscreen so the affected area doesn''t burn, and worsen the problem. Just my $.02, hope it helps!

Thanks for the info, MelissaSue and monarch64. I''m beginning to think that maybe I should bring two bras to my fitting, one longline and one sticky, and go with the one that works the best. The problem might be returning the one I don''t want.

I read on another site, however, that Nu-Bra is NOT a good idea if you are above a B cup because it doesn''t provide support. Has anybody actually worn this thing? It''s pretty expensive, so I''d like to know that it actually works before I buy it.

I''m also still looking for a longline bra. I''m looking for 32C or 32D, low back, smooth, extending down to the hips, and nude-colored. I was going to check out the local malls last night, but we were buried in snow and I spent a good chunk of the day cussing at my shovel (because the handle broke) and snowblower (which was impossible to get started). Yesterday made "undergarment issues" seem like lots of fun haha. Anyway, if anyone has any recommendations I''d love to hear them

2 cents on the bra thing. I wore the stick-ons for my sister''s wedding and it was a disaster! They did not support me well enough (34C/D) and the glue left me with blisters.

When we were all changing, I noticed that the groom''s sister had a one piece bra/underwear thing on! It was so smart! It went all the way down with snaps under the crotch for a long, seamless line. I don''t know where she got it, but it exists!

Great dress. You definitely don''t want anything showing under it.

If they''ll work, cups sewn in would be best I think.

Personal experience with the Nu-Bra: I didn''t like it. Granted, I don''t have the most naturally perky boobs in the world, but I felt like the Nu-Bra did NOTHING for my shape. Even with the little cleavage hooks hooked together in front, I just felt like I had lumpy, strangely shaped boobs.

I only use the Nu-Bra when I want a little size help, because I feel like I still have to wear a bra with it. They''re good for that, but I wasn''t pleased with how I looked with only the Nu-Bra on.

BTW, for size comparison, I''m a 34 small C.

UPDATE!!! I have a cathedral-length veil on order. Thank you all so much for all the advice and assistance. I also took the plunge and bought a NuBra, and unfortunately I have to say that I really don''t like it! It doesn''t even cover the entire breast (I got the largest size too: a C cup). I''m thinking about trying one of those bras with the sticky wings that sticks to you under the arms, just in case I can''t find a longline bra.

Speaking of which, I''m still looking for a longline bra. The one-piece thing sounds like a great idea. Yesterday I went to my local Macy''s and they didn''t have anything suitable. I looked on their website and they sell a few different longline bras there, but they don''t show pictures of the backs, and I can''t tell if it''s going to work with my dress if I can''t see a picture of the back! Ugh!

Still not sure about the bra issue. I''m having trouble finding a longline one that meets all the criteria (low back, seamless, etc.). I might have to go the sticky bra route, but to be honest I feel leery about it!

Thanks for all the help!!!!

I just wanted to let you know my experiece with the sticky bra things (pasties). I used them for homecoming when I was in HS (long time ago and I was a bit smaller in the bust than I am now) I had to have my mom help me put them on. They are very tricky. I was all dressed and ready to go when I noticed a rash spreading across my chest. I must have been allergic to the paste.

I ripped them off and put band aids on to keep the nipple issue under control.

Your dress is beautiful! What about having cups sewn in? They may be more supportive than you think. Secondly, what do you think about an elbow-length veil? That would be beautiful! Let us know what you decide!

As far as the bra goes I have two words to say ....Chicken Cutlets! You need to go get one of the chicken cutlet stick on bras....they look like jelly boobs, but I swear they work! I got mine at Parisians.....they even have a little clasp in the front for clevage control. I have a D cut and they even work on me!

I think you should go for a veil that ends either below the llower back, or go all the way to the floor with it....have it extend a few inches past your dress....that would be beautiful!

I''m going to go with a cathedral-length veil. As for the bra, I still don''t have anything. I tried one of those "cutlet" bras called the NuBra and I didn''t find it supportive at all. I''m still looking and trying to find a bra that will work, but if I can''t find anything I will have to dig out my trusty roll of duct tape!

Can you have a bra sewn in by your seamstress? That might be the easiest and most comfortable option. If you don''t want it sewn in, the seamstress could probably make you a low-line bra or the long one that snaps to work with your dress. It would take a seamstress with more skill than basic dress alterations but I''m sure they''re out there. Custom bra.....

I ordered a clear-backed strapless bra and think it will work. My dress still hasn''t come in so I can''t say for certain, but I don''t think you''ll be able to see the clear strap very much at all!
