Vendor pictures and owner pictures of PS stones

Hi Paragon1234, thank you for your feedback. After reading the negative comments about Jeff Davies, my initial reaction was to start shopping for another Umbalite from a different vendor.

My Umbalite Garnet arrived a couple days ago, I think it's beautiful and sparkles like crazy in low light, incandescent, and natural light from the window. I haven't really looked at it in bright sunlight or in a brightly lit room. My first pic looks horrible, it looks flat and dark - without life.

Fortunately, I decided to take quite a few more pics all in indirect lighting while sitting in my living room.

I am definitely keeping my Umbalite!!! Particularly as it's 5.16 carats, isn't bottom heavy and measures nearly 10mm - 9.7 x 9.7 x 6.7mm. Best yet, I got it for a good price!!!

I'm in the process of having a setting made and can't wait to see the finished product!!!

Although I did all the work it's a birthday present from my sweet heart!!!

I found this pretty ring on Loupe Troop listed as a pink sapphire in a sterling silver vintage bezel setting. Seller said she had bought the ring some time ago with the stone already set so she wasn’t precisely sure on specs but estimates the sapphire at about 1.5ct and I agree with that estimate. The stone is even prettier in person! It gives off flashes of purple and peach which I tried my best to capture. I’m very happy with it!!65A7A6DB-1A74-49AB-888E-49DB87721D3B.jpeg

My new Garnet that I’m excited to show off! Cut by Marie at Amaterragems. I was pleasantly surprised that it looks exactly like her photos. AEA6D0E0-F6D7-491B-A343-91725B3F17E7.jpeg

Your new ring is beautiful and I love the setting as well... Please don't take offense, but I'd want to upgrade that beautiful pink sapphire to a white gold or platinum setting. She's just too lovely to be wearing silver.

Moderately included Winza ruby from Mastercut Gems. She's small but mighty, and the inclusions make her silky. In the green box, the ruby is on the top left. For reference, top right is a Burmese ruby, and the bottom two are spinels.

A lovely stone~ It looks even more open coloured than the Burmese one in the pic, does this align with real life observations?

Nice score with the ruby.

I just bought a 1.98ct. sapphire from MCG... Inside it's mint green outside it's 'intense' green. It's arriving Monday, I've never had a green gemstone; hope I like it!!

Yes, real life observation is so, too, but it's not the best Burmese ruby.

For that price, you got an awesome ruby... For something higher quality expect $$$$$ price tag!!! ;)2:cool2::)

Jeff Davies and son. 1.2ct pink zircon. Very close to sellers pic in some lighting. Darkens in sun but very firey!

What are your plans? I’m always excited to follow your projects

Bumping this for @icy_jade - this one?

I tried searching for it, no luck, then went into CS forum and found it is a pinned thread, DOH!

DK :))

My first blue sapphire. It was a very reasonable price. No heat Sri Lanka Sapphire. I dont have exact size and weight, a little over 1.5 ct.

The vendor is Etsy: SiameseJewelry from Bangkok, Thailand.

Here is the glamour shot:

Here are in hand photos under various lighting shot with my iphone 13. My phone is not doing the stone justice. I am happy with this ring.

I am quite happy with the stone and ring. I may someday send the ring to have it remade a little heavier. I do love that the prongs are yellow gold. It doesn't show in the pictures too well but a nice detail.

One more for the above, a rainy morning natural light.
It changes so much in different lighting. This is my first sapphire, so learning as I go.

These are the vendor photos and a video still of my 0.81ct lemon yellow chrysoberyl from Cecile Raley Designs on Etsy

I bought it mostly based on the video which showed the stone to be super lively and bright. I was really wowed when I opened the package. I think the video is totally accurate to what I see. The photos show more obstruction and less saturation than I see in real life.

My pics. The hand shot is most accurate for colour as close ups show dark camera reflections.

Has anyone bought from finestonespk? what are you thoughts and experience with this online seller?

Etsy Seller: MIlksapphire

I bought my neice a small pendant. It was well made, heavier gold than expected. The pictures were accurate. I didn't take more pictures, but it matched in brighter light.

Very nice vivid (heated) 5×4 mm oval blue sapphire from the natural sapphire company. Sri lanka origin. I already had the 10k yellow gold ring setting for a few years, and I finally found a gemstone for it that caught my eye. Gonna gift this soon.

Peach garnet from ClaraPepperFacets on Etsy. Photos were accurate (vendor on top, mine on bottom) and it's peachier irl but looks Rosey in the photos. PXL_20240503_204450823.PORTRAIT.jpg

In the spirit of this threads purpose-
Can you also include the TNSC vendor shot of the sapphire?

Lovely gift, and fine job on finding a stone for an existing setting! Enjoy!

Oh, damn. I don't have the vendor pic saved. Sorry! But I bought the loose sapphire from the natural Sapphire company.

Rioux Rocks - pink spinel. Returned. Process very straight forward.

IMG_7470.pngMy birthday present, a sunstone cut by Daniel Stair.
His picture above, mine below. His pictures were very accurate. I love how it catches the sunlight and flashes. It’s like there’s a little fire inside I got some pariaba tourmalines to set with it but I think they’re more glowy, this is intense with flashes so it might just end up with diamonds. I feel like blue sapphire would pair well with the peachy orange, I haven’t decided yet other than I think I want a compass point setting with larger stones at the NSEW. Still having fun playing around with ideas.

Yvonne’s photos are always accurate in my experience, though usually the gems look a little better in person!

Vendor: StarRuby. I didnt see anyone really purchased from him before, but all his stones are certified so i liked that. He lists them VERY high and then you can ask for a lower price (i paid 70% off of the original list). I feel like the color is not the same from the vendor pics, but lucky for them I love the color. Seems a tad more purple in person than in his pics. Harshil was great, very responsive (as best as can be expected with the time differences) I sent it to David Klass immediately so I didnt take many pics.

IGI certified 2ct Untreated Mozambique Ruby color listed as "Deep red"...best i could do for an untreated ruby with what i was willing to pay. LOL! I have 4 projects in the works and i had a small budget, so i dont think it's terrible!
