Thank you for the picture, it is indeed a lovely stone. With my stone I agree about the yellow, it''s not a sunshine stone at all. But have you seen how it glows in the shadow?

Hi MT!!
It''s a very lovely Loliondo specimen, and I have heard that those gems tend to run on the more yellow side, which some people really love. I would highly recommend the stone to anyone that likes a more yellowish orange spessartite. I personally prefer a more pure orange hue, like my pear. I actually puchased it because I thought it would fit in my 8x8 LOGR, but it''s slightly too small, so since I already have two spessartites, I think it''s best I return this one so that someone else can enjoy and cheerish it. It does glow neon in the shade, you are correct.

I hear you TL

He said it has a frosted star cut into the pavilion.

Another pink tourmaline from Gene, this one is concave cut. This stone is very hard to photograph.

Pink tourmaline from Dan Stair. My camera just couldn''t get good close-ups of the loose stone but here it is set in a simple basket. It''s a 7x7, 1.6 ct.

Although I wasn''t expecting this stone to look IRL like it does in this vendors pic it actually does look this vivid - my pics haven''t done it justice. Apologies in advance - I can''t post multiple pics in same post.

Klewis,
Nice zig-zag tourmaline. Is that a John Dyer cut?

Hi TL- Stupid of me to post in this thread and forget to mention the vendor, I thought I had. Yes it is a John Dyer cut.

Klewis,
Can we see pictures of the JD tourmaline in it''s own thread? I would love to see the pavillion cutting on it as well. John comes up with such unique and fun cuts.

I would like to add some thoughts to my above post.

With AJS, I would only buy stones with the 'extra comments' above the stones details, e.g. this is the comments to my pink tourmaline:

"What a Beautiful Color. This fine gemstone has been Superbly cut and polished to a high brilliance with Full Luster and No Windows. This is a fabulous gems has a fully saturated vivid pink color and bursts with flashes of color from all angles. I'm sure you will be pleased with this fine gem once you received it and see the real thing"

Despite the information above, when I received it, I was not so happy with the color as it doesn't hold its color in all lights. Most of the time, it tended to look darker than the vendors pic. I was seriously considering to send it back. That being said, in certain light, I do see the pink as in vendors pic. So, I decided to chance it. After the setting, the color of the stone became closer to vendors pic and thats what I see IRL. This setting is just perfect for this stone as it closed up the tilt window in it and the white metal brightens up the color too.
