It has such amazing dispersion - I especially love the blue flashes! It is Namibian and 0.64ct. The colour is great and very representative from his pics. :) All pics were taken in the car today.

Yes, it definitely looks like a nice one - I love its bluer side.

It seems that there must be a good find of the Namibian demantoids recently as I see them popping up with much more frequency.

Love the blue and how crisp it looks.

Good to hear. I love my demantoid from Jeff too =)

Nice! I noticed that one when it went up, if it's the same one. :D It looks kinda nice next to that rose gold. ;) (though the white metal, too!)

Very pretty -- love the blue too. Well cut. Do the Namibians have more secondary blue as a rule? Demantoids from other sources i've seen tend toward yellow-green.

JF,
For what it's worth my Namibian demantoid has a yellow modifier, not a blue one. I would guess that blue is more sought after -- after chrome green that is.

Hi,

Very nice!, beautiful cut.

Jewelfreak: to answer your question, yes, some but not all of the Namibians have that blue modifier. For me, its almost a completely different animal than the Russian horsetail, vividly saturated grass green stones.

Looks great. Congrats!

Gorgeous!! That blue is just divine. Congratulations!

Thanks, Minou & LK. Seems like more with secondary blue are showing up, where they used to be infrequent. Agree, Minou, that they're very different looking from the Russian-type demantoids. Both are attractive, just different.

I know! I'm wondering why myself!

Just read this now - thank you everyone!
I have a Namibiam demantoid with a strong yellow modifier and this is my first one where I see a blue one.

I really like this demantoid. I've owned several smaller namibians, and none of mine have a blue secondary like that, only the yellow. I had no idea that the Namibian demantoids even existed looking like that! I might need one of these ;). Congrats on your find!

gorgeous!

Yes, I know for sure you need one. :Up_to_something:

Lol! I agree, you definitely need one. :saint: It was a great price too!

This is probably going to be a pendant over an ancient Greek Aegina turtle coin. I don't want to risk damaging it in a ring.

Beautiful color! I hope you enjoy it for many years to come, and I still adore seeing pics of your sapphire ring too - gorgeous pool of blue!
