Vintage Ring - Pink/Red Stone

Hi Everyone,

I fell in love with this ring at a local antique store and just had to have it! The owner, however, has no clue as to what the stone is other than "it''s a pink/Red stone". It really is a much deeper color than it appears in the photos, almost a true red. Anybody have any thoughts on what it might be?

I have no idea what it may be.. ruby.. spinel.. tourmaline... Oh it is scrumptous... I think it is awesome.. I even love the high setting.. wow... Can''t wait to find out what it is..

has the look and the color and the size.

im betting that the setting is on the thin and light side and hollow.
if so then thats another indicator that that is what it is.

that was going to be my guess, too, strmdr. They were very common in the 50s and even before, I think. Back then, people were actually really excited about what science could do and synthetics became popular for that reason. Gorgeous ring!

I wanted to add i like that ring a lot :}
little bold for my tastes but its way kewl.

I think well cut synthetic ruby/sapphire is the ultimate bling for the buck.
