I forgot to say in my other thread that I thought of this as my 1-2-3-4-5 ring before Yvonne and I started calling this the crown ring--1 ruby, 2 lavender sapphires, 3 pinkish spinels (1 Burmese 2 Mahenge), 4 blue sapphires, and 5 tsavorite garnets. Funny how these little details come back to you after a while...

that is a really cool ring, I can only imagine how much fun you had designing it!

I'm cleaning up my jewelry box today, in the best way possible! :twisted2: By sending in my loose gems for setting :cool2:. Here's all that's left after I cleaned.

These are all destined for custom projects I can't afford to do now. :cry2:

On the positive side, I'm soon going to have under $1250 CS pieces to show you all.

These are the gems I sent to Daniel M to set. Upper left round jar: stacking rings. Upper right round jar: bezel pendants. Lower left square box: custom ring, "honeybee" layout. Lower right square box: custom ring, Daniel M trellis design.

I just want to share the CADs/renderings.

Expecting these to be done by next week before he goes on vacation!

The honeybee design is adorable and so creative! Love the trellis ring too! I’m looking forward to seeing the finished pieces.

I'm looking forward to seeing the pieces too! The trellis ring is finished, but I don't think I'll be getting the honeybee one anytime soon.

I received a couple of Montana sapphires from Dan Stair today, and this little emerald from Yvonne. The color is lovely, but the inclusion on the top left corner was more noticeable than I thought that it would be.

@Rubybrick yes, those are 3mm emerald melees from Yvonne. I also love the mesmerizing pink and green combo! Both when it's pastels and when it's saturated neon like this!

@T L well, at $5.5M, that emerald is going to be in a lot of people's dreams. Here's my picture of that eternity style ring.

Both in person and on camera, the demantoids were SUPER neon, definitely more so than the 2.7mm paraibas they're right next to.

P.S. And look how pretty the demantoids are in my sunflower ring, as well! 1.25mm but mighty.

P.P.S. Oh, and the bright tiny gem on the very right of my Easter paraiba ring? That's demantoid as well, 1.25mm size. The bigger green stones in the paraiba inner halo are mint garnets, and you can see the difference in the glow of demantoids.

Are these your gems or a particular seller? The rings are very nice!

The gems in post #1 are from Cecile Raley Designs. The gems in post #5, in the purple box, are mine, but were originally sourced from Cecile Raley Designs.

@2Neezers @D&T @Lilith112 here is what I did with the 2.73 ct purple spinel from thegemcollector and 2 of 36 orange-red spinels I bought from D&T.

Also thinking about setting the other spinel I got from thegemcollector, shown below...

These were taken at night under LED light, so they're not the glowiest.

I love this so much  More pictures, please:))

I rearranged my gem box because I'm planning on mailing out my blue sapphires for setting. Left to right: lavender spinel from The Gem Trader; grossular garnet from Dan Stair, Mahenge spinel from Gran Gem, kornerupine from The Gem Trader, and Mahenge spinel from Africa Gem.

COOL setting for the purple spinel! Can you tell us more about it? Impressed with all of your stone choices.

ETA: I responded as soon as I saw that first post, now I see you did tell us more. I was just so taken with the setting and the stone combination.

@Stone Hunter I first wanted to get my cabs set by Daniel M, but then I was looking around in his Etsy shop and noticed the swiss blue topaz in his trellis ring. I could immediately see my purple spinel in the same design, and I had struggled to imagine how to set it since I bought it last Christmas. Do you have a large elongated stone you want to set in the trellis design?

I’m always looking for settings. It takes me forever to find the right settings for my loose stones. Lately I’ve been browsing East-West settings.

Yay, I got my bee cluster ring! Have trouble getting my phone to capture the right color for the yellow kornerupine, but I find the ring quite cute. :mrgreen2:720616IMG_20191101_112744227.jpg

The bee cluster ring is cuteness overload! I absolutely adore it!

It’s super cute and the workmanship looks nice. Would you recommend his services? Are the costs reasonable? I have a number of cabs & misc gems I’d like to get set but don’t want to spend much on. As in silver would be fine. Also, I like bezels. Are his bezels well done? They look good in your pictures!

I love that purple square and the purple antennae!

Yes, I would recommend him. I find his costs reasonable, and he gives small discounts if you do more than one project, so the best thing is to send him those cabs and misc en masse rather than one at a time.

His bezels are well done. I didn't even like bezels before setting his work posted by others on PS and what's in his Etsy shop! My high end stones, I would still prefer prongs for, but these cute little stones, are great for Daniel M's bezels.

Lol I bought that purple square (supposedly an unheated purple sapphire) from Mine Planet on Etsy for $20. It's a 4mm size. The purple in the antennae are a pair of 2mm purple garnets I bought from CRD to set myself along with some other gems, but as it turns out, I have no skill with setting and mangled a bunch of pre-fabricated silver settings. I had just a couple of successes. Thereafter, I left the setting to pros.

The bee's head was a 4mm-ish Namibian demantoid garnet, and the body was yellow kornerupine, both from Litnon and total cheapies. The kornerupine was actually a free gift. But I enjoyed seeing the bright colors together and decided to set them this way, spending more on the gold than the cost of the gems.
