Want to propose soon need a diamond fast!

The JA stone is just slightly more of a gamble because it doesn't have all that information online guaranteeing its cut quality. But you've done your homework and the ASET looks good. In fact, the two ASETs look pretty similar to me...I think the JA one is tilted a bit, rather than having more leakage to the left of the table. The main issue for me with the GOG stone is the clarity. Not all SI1s are eye-clean, so check if it is. If not, that would be a dealbreaker.

So here's how I see it...
Pros of the JA diamond: Larger, higher clarity, I'm assuming cheaper(?)
Pros of the GOG diamond: Hand-picked by Jon for beauty, higher color, slightly nicer ASET, more info available online, AGS ideal cut, better upgrade policy

Since the size difference is pretty small, I'd probably pick the GOG stone. Things that would sway me toward the JA stone would be price (if there's a large difference) or if the GOG stone isn't eye-clean.

comparing it to
http://goodoldgold.com/diamond/7757/ which one is better?

I prefer a small table. Sometimes you get a lot of glare off a big table but...move your finger and voila, the glare is gone.
The gog stone would be my choice but they are both nice stones.

What are your thoughts on the stones? Whats the price difference on the stones? The GOG stone is upgradable while the JA
is not if you think that will ever make a difference. The JA stone is a tad larger too.

hey guys thanks for all your help!
I have more questions??

http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-373349.htm

do you think this is ideal cut???

Also, GOG has a GIA diamond for sale that looks promising..... I'm thinking since it's from GOG it might be ideal cut

To me- the first stone's cut looks great! It is an X-factor (princess cut with clipped corners)..is that what you are looking for?

As for the second stone, just because it is from GOG does not meanit's ideal cut- could be- doesn't mean it necessarily is. Now, I may be wrong, so someone more educated than I please chime in--- the white areas around the edges of the stone- is that leakage or reflection? Not sure about the cut on this one- so hopefully a princess expert will chime in and explain.

I think you're right that ASET does look bad

Wouldn't say "bad," but I do prefer the x-factor. I actually prefer the last 2 stones you were looking at over both of these though.
