Was my wedding band a cocktail ring in its past life?

Hello everyone, I've been having fun looking at all the lovely pieces you've posted!

Was this style originally worn as a cocktail/dinner ring or as a wedding/anniversary band?

I don't know much about this ring except that the diamonds are VS2 and H color. The center stone is .33 (I assume an older cut?) and the rest are single cut .01'ers. It is 14k white gold. I love the low profile setting of the center stone, the cutwork and miligrain detail.

I'd also love to know what period it is from if anyone knows. I'm guessing maybe 1950s?

I'm feeling the 1950s with this ring also.It probably was a dinner or cocktail ring back in the day because the dinner or cocktail ring was very popular during the the 50s-early 60s and a multitude of styles were offered in jewelry stores as dinner ,formal wear or nighttime jewelry(people still dressed to go out to dinner, weddings and some still believed that you didnt wear diamonds before 5pm!)Keep in mind that it could have been worn as a after 5 dress ring in place of the traditional yellow gold wedding band so many women worn at this time period for every day wear.

Hello HBD, I have nothing to add but just wanted to say your ring is gorgeous, love the miligrain work.

Thank you for your input jewelerman! I'm sure glad the "No diamonds before 5PM" rule is a thing of the past :))

Thanks artdecogirl!
