I was once served (in Austria, where 99% of all the waiters I encountered were actively rude when I requested something vegetarian - since nothing on the menu EVER was), a plate of pork with gravy, a side of rice, and a side of veggies. I told them politely, "I was the one that requested a vegetarian meal," and after the waitress sneered at me and disappeared for 40 minutes.....she brought back THE SAME PLATE only now it had congealed gravy with a pork-shaped indentation where the pork used to be!!!!!!

Basically, I agree with what most people are saying here though - don''t cater to people who are on a diet, or don''t really like halibut or whatever because they should just be appreciative that you''re serving them a nice meal regardless, but PLEEEASE have something 100% vegetarian available in case there is anyone who doesn''t eat any meat/chicken/fish at all! Even if none of your friends and family are, it''s entirely possible that a girlfriend of one of your fiance''s coworkers or someone random like that is, and it''s always harder for me to request anything if I''m not a close friend of the person whose party/wedding it is.

Here's our menu:

Passed:
herb cheese with crackers and cucumber rounds
Mango and Ham Chutney

Will be set out on platters and such (buffet-style?):
Sun-dried tomato spread with melba crostinis
garlic and honey chicken skewers
oven roasted pork tenderloin with stone ground mustard
hot parmesan crab dip
vegetable medley lightly steamed and marinated
raspberry brie and ginger snaps
seasonal fruit and assorted cheeses

I think the price was like $17.50 a person.

Hope this helps!
