are you going to try to find something to put in your hair? it looks great as is, but would look wonderful with the right bling too. i''m selfishly asking because i''m thinking of doing this same hair style. my hair is either going to be like ginger''s/yours (she had roses in her hair, but my bouquet will be calla lilies, so this won''t work for me) or straight and natural like tybee''s. i hope you ladies don''t mind! (i''d actually love hair like jorman''s but my hair is way too thin, so i''m not even going to try.) maybe some hair pins would work in the side or something.

Irina to the rescue! I vote for LOWER because it gives it more that Grace Kelly classic look...is that sort of what you are going for? I love it, and I love that look coupled with the very small tiara type thing to hold the veil, and after the wedding, even if you remove the veil in totality you still have the sparkle in your hair...

I really like the first couple of pics you posted.

it is classy, elegant and sexy.

The curls are creative and not boring. I think it is perfect.

And I definately like it side swept rather than straight back....it is just a classy look. But of course, it is all about what YOU want!!

i just don''t know if the swept thing will be an early 2000''s thing. ya know? and if straight back with a little puff to it will be classic forever, either. plus i want to find out which one works better with my face. i know i hate myself with slicked back hair. that doesn''t work for my face.

eta: i mean i know no matter what in the future, my pics will look dated. i just want to minimize that as much as possible.

ohhh, but I think it is the opposite. The side swept the more timeless, and straight back is a trend right now..

Irinia got it sorted out. It looks best where it''s at. Nevermind. Sorry to have started the controversy to begin with!

i went back to see Ginger''s hair. your''e right it does look very similiar. her curls made more of a bun shape than mine do.
i do want to put some sort of bling in my hair. something not too small or too overwhelming either. i was waiting to see what style my hair would be before buying something. now that it may be this curl concoction, i don''t know where or what type to get! some sort of comb thing...

no controversy at all! i really appreciate your input and eye!

Just tossing my .02 in...

I too prefer it as it is in the photos. I don''t like what the slightly higher look does to your overall headshape; it makes it too elongated for my taste. But that''s just my taste.

I think it has a very classic Grace Kelly-esque look, and with the side part it evokes the starlets and hairdos of Kelly''s era. I''m going with Veronica Lake-style hair for my wedding, I think. I prefer it with the side part because straight-back always makes me think of someone going out to a swim meet. Not sure why. But it does. I find the pulled-right-back look very harsh and usually unflattering to the wearer, simply because your face isn''t ornamented by your hair at all and it looks tight and painful.

That being said, I''m not much a fan of straight-back-with-wispies around the face, because it usually looks like she''s been sleeping on her hair.

I recently saw a photo in a magazine of Reese Witherspoon wearing a low bun/chignon with side-parted hair, and it wasn''t slicked back; it was soft and swept-looking, without any stray hairs or tendrils. She has hair a similar colour (and I think length?) to yours.

Have you seen those hair pins? I don''t know how to describe them better ... bobby pins with blingy things on top. Like...they look like earrings. Crap... I''m describing this badly. I''m going to google hair jewlery and see what pops up. Pins. Jeweled hair pins. I''ve seen them (nicer ones than these) in the nicer bridal shops... you could stud the weaved bun with them. Here''s a link just to give you a general idea of what I mean.

If you get the small ones they are understated.

Of course, I personally don''t like tiaras... so ... that could be why I like these.

Gypsy, I agree about some tiaras, I am thinking more of a sparkly headband that would add some interest to the front, and then the hair would be a bit higher behind it. Helps give a finished look when the veil comes off...

no offense to anyone -but i''m steering away from tiaras and the like. i am thinking of just some sort of bling visible from the back of my hair.

i was looking at something like this, but know with curl do, i don''t know where i would put it.

there are so many things like Gypsy pointed out...pins with stuff on the ends, or combs etc...you will find something great!!

i sure hope so! and hopefully it won''t cost an arm and a leg

were you thinking about something like this?

hair bling with curly bun.jpg

um- yeh! so it can work with curls...
thanks!

Oh gosh, #1 is truly beautiful! It is classic and elegant- very princess grace! I love the lowness...that's what I love...but Belle makes a good point about it rubbing against the neck and getting unkempt....other that that it's a winner...I love the side part for the same reason...and I wasn't a tiara girl either! That clip is beautiful novia! i just don't love the placement...I'd do it very close to the top of the bun and maybe a longer one...know what I mean?

I love it...can I borrow your pictures for planning my own wedding hair? I''ve scoured magazine after magazine and never found anything...that''s almost exactly how I imagined my hair looking. I like it lower, as long as it doesn''t rub your neck...the curls are gorgeous, and I really like the little bit of side part that you have in the first pictures.

I think its beautiful.. I wish I had begun growing my hair out two years ago so that I could do that with it. Its just my favorite wedding hair look..
i feel like my hair doesn''t even look long in this pics! it''s sorta frustrating because i''ve been putting up with long hair for this and i don''t think i''m getting that fullness i thought i would. ah well! i can''t wait to cut it after the wedding. i wish someone could cut it before i leave for the HM. too bad they don''t work on sunday!

I really like the way she did it. Classy!

And I agree...I can''t wait to chop off my hair! No wonder so many brides go shorter after the wedding...long hair can bug!

I think it looks gorgeous!

Absolutely gorgeous as it. Please keep the bling small! It is so gorgeous as is, I would hate to try to outshine that shiny hair, which is the best bling of all...
