I MUCH prefer the first one!! This last one just doesn''t do anything for you IMO. And you can wear whatever the heck you want, even if it''s a ballgown. It''s your wedding day afterall!

Ditto - that decision took about 0.0002 seconds to make! If the Galina looks more like the 2nd dress, scrap it and stick with the first.

Thritto Neat and Jstar!

Thanks PSers! That's what I needed, a little candid advice so I don't make a bad decision. Thanks and keep it coming!

The first, white one will be poofier on bottom than the picture shows, does that change your opinion?

Just to give the idea of a more poofy/princessy look, here is another photo I took (don't like this particular dress so much, but just to see the shape). It won't be quite this poofy, but it will be fuller than the previous picture shows.

Personally, I prefer the dress non-poofy. Part of its appeal to me is it''s sleek shape, and you wear it well. But if you want the poof, don''t let the fact that it''s not a "traditional" wedding deter you...wear whatever you love!

Thanks again Jstarfireb. Yeah, I liked the more streamlined look (found it slimming, which is one of my main criteria), but the sales people thought there was too much loose fabric if I didn't wear the poofy slip underneath that filled it out. Maybe I'll see if that can be altered so I won't need the poofy undergarments. If not, then maybe I'll just embrace my inner princess and go for the poofier look instead.

Crikey -- so much to think about! Just a few days ago I thought I would be skipping all this complicated gown stuff by going with a cocktail dress. So it's really all brand new to me and I appreciate the help!

Well, if you're going back to David's, what do you think about this Galina? It reminds me a lot of the first one, only with a lot less fabric and no need for poofy crinoline! Or maybe this beautiful illusion halter? It's a tad pricey, but it's a trumpet, so it also wouldn't need poof.

ETA: Oh, and I think the salespeople at David's are just trying to sell you one of their slips. They can be quite pushy sometimes. You might just have to stand firm and say no!

Ooh, I like that halter style one. I didn''t try any like that. Maybe I will do that tomorrow too (my sales person must hate me, I have so much to learn about the style that looks best on me, so I wind up trying everything, LOL). I''ll keep you posted :)

I found a dress! It was more than I had anticipated spending, but I''m in a time crunch and needed one that looked good on and didn''t have time to look anymore. So overall I''m quite happy to have a found one that I think is pretty and that fits me well. It is another David''s Bridal one, that somehow I missed on my first visit, but is a trumpet shape again, though this one is the proper size and fits me better/doesn''t look so tight in the middle. My camera phone pics are terrible so I''m not going to post them now, but here is a link to the dress, and the comments include pics of lots of regular brides/non-models wearing them, so you can get a general idea of the fit. I''m happy and hopefully will post some pro pics of it after the wedding. Thanks again for all the help!! I never would have thought of David''s Bridal without the PS suggestions.

I personally wouldn''t wear a veil at all, and would go with a comb or a flower in your hair instead.

I also hadn''t thought about going to David''s pre-PS, so I am encouraged by all the beautiful finds.
