Wedding Ring Design - HELP NEEDED!

I've attached a CAD image that I just got.

I'd really like some help before calling the company back.

My fiance really likes the curve going around the diamond in the engagement ring. We've taken some pictures and provided them to BDG who is helping with the design.

After getting the CAD back we'd like some input on:

1) Should the band be resting agains the bottom of the shank?
- If it doesn't, will it separate the top of the shank and pave by pushing the top (visible part) of the 2 rings in opposite directions?

2) If you look at the first picture (that was sent to BGD for and example to produce the CAD), do you think the pave should be smaller so it matches the micro-pave on the engagement ring?

Chime in with any thoughts and help.
All opinions and input welcomed!

Thanks.

Perhaps this is just miscommunication?

The inspiration pix you posted seems to be straight with two divots (so that it will sit off the ER band, but the two divots will hug the diamond).

It seems like what you want is one divot and the wedding band flush with the ER band. If so, tell them that's what you want.

Ignore what is "normal" and ask if they can produce what you want, and better to tell them in the design stage.

I don't like the way the shank on the band curves away from the ring. It should be totally flush.

yep I agree...

It looks a bit disconnected to me :(

Maybe it's just the image but yes, the bands should be flush in the back. I'd give them a call and discuss it.

I also think that your inspirational picture looks nothing like the vendors interpretation unless you want that sweeping curve on both sides. But IMHO that looks weird.

Is there any issue with ‘rubbing’ the wb against the diamond setting, did the vendor mention that?

About the micro pave, unless you have a double layer or make the wb very thin they prob won’t match anyway so it is just personal preference as to the size of the melee.

Happy designing!

I agree that something is 'off' between the inspiration pic and the CAD. I think part of it is the curve that pull the bottom of the shank away from the the bottom of the e-ring.

Rubbing:
Part of my request for this type of design is to pull the wb away from the prongs on the engagement ring. I know rubbing is always an issue but with the way the prongs are exposed in the engagement ring, that would be the most exposed area. I'm concerned with having the prongs take the brunt of the rubbing.

Are you referring to the top part that goes around the setting or the bottom part of the shank that is separated?

totally agree with this statement. I think the band should be flush with the e-ring shank, and curve out around the diamond.
