When did you get engaged?
- We got engaged April 6, 2008

When did you start planning your wedding?
- Started planning about a month later.

How long will you have been engaged before the wedding?
- We were engaged 10 months and 2 days.

What day is your wedding?
- It was Sunday, February 8, 2009.

Is anyone assisting with the planning?
- My mom, DH, and stepmom helped plan the wedding. Bridesmaids helped with things like the shower and they took care of their own dresses which helped a lot. And moral support.
2.gif

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site?
- It was at a place in NY - ceremony and reception were at the same place.

How many BM''s/GM''s are in the wedding?
- 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen

What are your colors?
- Purple. Bridesmaids wore dark/royal purple and moms and sisters wore various shades of dark and light purple so everyone matched. It ended up looking great together!

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
- Nope, not really any theme.

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
- All of the above.

DJ or band? What kind of music?
- Band. Jewish music other than the song they played for DH and I to dance to together - "I Don''t Wanna Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith.

What kind of food will be served? (including cake ) How will it be served?
- Honestly, I can''t really remember!! I think there was salmon, chicken, meat... salad. Umm... I didn''t get to eat any of it, so I can''t remember! The cake was pretty but the caterer provided it so we didn''t really choose what went inside. I think that was good - still have the top layer in the freezer.

How many people are invited?
- 701 invited. I think 512 came.

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
- Veil, tiara, earrings (my parents bought me these beautiful diamond dangling earring jacket to wear with my diamond studs), necklace (I loved my necklace - it was very special because it was the diamond from my mom''s engagement ring that my dad gave her - they''re divorced, but she kept the diamond and made it into a necklace for me), and bracelet (which I''ll admit was the only thing I wore that was fake but looked gorgeous and people seemed to think it was real!)

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
- Dress can be seen here... Didn''t change dresses - http://www.pricescope.com/forum/op-requested/got-pictures-back-t120111.html

Any wedding ring ideas?
- I wear a plain wedding band that my husband gave to me during the ceremony, and he surprised me with a 7-stone diamond band right after the ceremony. Rings are here: http://www.pricescope.com/forum/op-requested/lilac-s-engagement-and-wedding-rings-t120210.html

Where to for the honeymoon?
- We''re leaving in 2 weeks to Hawaii for 10 days for our honeymoon!!! I''m so excited!!

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
- We had a traditional Jewish ceremony/reception with all the Jewish traditions, songs, and customs!

Wow, Lilac!!! FSIL''s wedding was 502 people, and I didn''t think weddings got bigger than that!

Haha, trillionaire and princessplease - Just to clarify, there were 701 people invited, 512 people attended, and DH and I only knew about 200 of those people. My parents generously paid for the whole wedding, but as a result, invited ALL their friends and extended family also (and I have a stepmom and stepdad and they each have very big families and all them and their kids were invited too!)

DH and I only invited 80 friends total.

I would have loved to have a smaller wedding with just our friends and family, but my parents were being generous enough to pay for the wedding, so I couldn''t tell them who to invite or not to invite! I LOVED my wedding even though it was so big, and most of the people we didn''t know left relatively early from the reception so by the end it was our closest friends and family anyway.

But yes, it was a TON of people
3.gif

Do already married people count? Ignore me if we don''t.

When did you get engaged?
May 18, 2007. Wedding was May 10, 2009. Chinese wedding banquet will probably be May 31, 2010 (his mom is planning that, and we just have to give her a date).

When did you start planning your wedding?
About 10 months before the wedding.

How long will you have been engaged before the wedding?
Just under 2 years.

What day is your wedding?
Sunday.

Is anyone assisting with the planning?
FI, mom, and mom''s friends.

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site?
Central PA in my hometown, riverside outdoor ceremony, reception in a large barn, same site for ceremony and reception.

How many BM''s/GM''s are in the wedding?
4 on each side.

What are your colors?
Sage green and a little bit of white.

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
Calla lilies, simplicity, and informality.

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
See above...white callas. Centerpieces are not floral, but candles. I limited fresh flowers to the bouquets, corsages/bouts, archway for ceremony, and sweetheart table centerpiece. Flowers showed up in design elements (cake, favors, etc.), but that was all for fresh flowers. It may seem ironic based on my theme, but I''m really not a flower person.

DJ or band? What kind of music?
DJ for ceremony and reception. Hammered dulcimer music (an instrument that I play) for the ceremony, and various popular stuff for the reception (mostly 80s-90s).

What kind of food will be served? (including cake ) How will it be served?
Buffet meal with pasta and a carving station. Cake was yellow with raspberry filling and white buttercream icing, 3 round tiers, very small and simple (with extra sheet cakes in the back to save money).

How many people are invited?
About 180...far too many, but the parents were paying. Luckily only 125 came. I was hoping for 50-75.

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
Engagement ring, ACA bezel diamond necklace, fake cz bezel earrings, veil from David''s, mom''s garter, friend''s toss-away garter that the boy caught at another wedding

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
David''s Bridal T9315, altered into a halter neckline. Didn''t change for the reception, but I did change into a different dress to be "sent off" in.

Any wedding ring ideas?
For me, princess and round alternating bezel eternity band from Blue Nile. For him, a plain 5mm white gold band from a department store that was having a liquidation sale.

Where to for the honeymoon?
Key West, and it was fabulous.

Any favor ideas?
I didn''t want favors, but my mom insisted, so we had little jar candles from Wal-Mart alternating with calla lily wine corks.

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
For the ceremony, 2 readings, a sung solo, and a blessing, though they weren''t at all traditional or religious. For the reception, bouquet and garter toss, anniversary dance, father/daughter and mother/son dance (combined), a Mother''s Day tribute dance (wedding was on Mother''s Day), and father/MOH/BM toasts (which I asked them all to keep short and sweet, and they gladly complied).

...And princessplease, you forgot the most important question of all: SHOES! I wore my old prom shoes (Van Eli silver strappy sandals with chunky 2-inch heel), then changed into Crocs Sassari wedges for the reception, and finally Bakers Brianna in platinum when I put on the send-off dress.

and our parents, a little bit from our bridal party but not very much at all.

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site?
At a ranch (it wasn't as rustic as that sounds) in Malibu Canyon, CA. Same site, it was essentially a backyard wedding in someone else's yard. Reception was on an indoor/outdoor patio, for lack of a better visualization term.

How many BM's/GM's are in the wedding?
2 Groomsmen, no official best man
1 Matron of honor (no other bridesmaids)

What are your colors?
Autumn... Burnt orange, gold, sage green.

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
Again, autumn, and a park-like theme (our centerpieces were lanterns on moss).

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
I basically showed up at the florist, pointed to some flowers/colors, and told her to "play." I have no idea the specifics of what we ended up with.

The only flowers were the bouquets (mine and MOH's) and boutonnieres (groom, groomsmen, fathers and grandfathers).

DJ or band? What kind of music?
DJ. He mainly played requests. It was a big mix.

What kind of food will be served? (including cake
18.gif
) How will it be served?
Mediterranean/Californian fusion buffet.

Our cake was our pride and joy... alternating layers of White Velvet (cream cheese filling) and Banana cake (banana creme filling) with chocolate ganache frosting, and fresh voodoo (orange) roses.
18.gif

How many people are invited?
About 100. A little over 60 attended (our guest list was over 90% OOT by plane flight, not by car). It was the perfect size for us, we were actually hoping for about the attendance rate we got.

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
Hair stick with 'porcelain' birds
my tiny diamond studs (birthday gift from my parents)
gold locket (something new, wedding gift from my husband)
an antique watch stacked with pearl bracelets
my great-grandmother's wedding ring (something old) stacked with my sapphire/diamond graduation band (something blue)

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
Lace + mesh pronovias, didn't change for the reception.

Any wedding ring ideas?
Oh geez, this one took me over a year! Good thing our engagement was on the long side.

Where to for the honeymoon?
Fiji and New Zealand.

Any favor ideas?
We gave Endangered Species chocolates.

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
We used:
an oathing stone (Scottish tradition)
Wine ceremony
First and parents' dances

We didn't use any of the bouquet/garter toss stuff.

Fun thread!

Of course you count, jstar!

Duh to the shoes!!! What a cool thing to wear your old prom shoes!!!

Yay survey! Haha

When did you get engaged? June 6, 2008

When did you start planning your wedding? maybe a few weeks after June 6th

How long will you have been engaged before the wedding? let's see ... almost 16 months

What day is your wedding? September 25, 2009, a Friday

Is anyone assisting with the planning? nope

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site? we're having the ceremony on the lawn at the reception site (as long as it doesn't rain); the venue is in the Hudson Valley on the Hudson River

How many BM's/GM's are in the wedding? 2 BMs and 2GM, no flower girls or ring bearers

What are your colors? navy and orange

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it? nope, no theme; just stuff we like

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)? The venue includes centerpieces with a dozen roses (in your choice of colors) so that's what we're doing. They could do something different, but flowers are one of the things that's not a priority in our budget.

DJ or band? What kind of music? string quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour (yay! so excited for this); dj for the reception

What kind of food will be served? (including cake ) How will it be served? way too many hors d' oeuvres to mention; potato and squash soup; salad (with goat cheese! mmmm); and three entree choices: lamb, duck, and sea bass (we decided we wanted to pick what we would most want to eat, not what would be most popular; I hope none of my friends have recently turned into picky eaters
3.gif
); for cake, we'd like to have cheesecake: one NY style, one chocolate, one pumpkin swirl (or something similarly fall flavored; still need to see what the cake place can make well)

How many people are invited? I think we're at 97 right now; our minimum is 65, so I'm hoping to get around 75 (almost all are long distance and many in grad school, so I don't know if they'll be able to afford to come)

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc) I have a hair clip from etsy, no veil; drop earrings that I love; and possibly an antique bracelet

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception? my dress is tea length and pretty retro (think Doris Day) and I love it; it's pretty much a reception dress already

Any wedding ring ideas? I already have my ring; it's very similar to Coati's ring: a plain band, concave center with milgrain on the edges; I love it! FI got a tungsten band

Where to for the honeymoon? California: San Fransisco, Monterey, Sequoia, Yosemite, and Sonoma/Napa

Any favor ideas? we're getting pint glasses with a logo modeled off of the Guiness logo; I love it!; unfortunately they're more expensive than I hoped, but we can't turn back now because it's such a cool idea (I'll also end up with probably 50 extra glasses due to the order size that made it the cheapest ... oh well!)

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception? not really ... our ceremony is non-religious, but I guess will be fairly traditional otherwise; our reception will have dinner and dancing, but won't have most of the traditions (bouquet toss, cake cutting, etc) that many weddings have

*When did you get engaged?
June 12, 2009

*When did you start planning your wedding?
Before we were engaged...I think we started putting together our wedding binder and reading budget-wedding books sometime in late April/early May?

*How long will you have been engaged before the wedding?
Ten months and 18 days :)

*What day is your wedding?
Saturday May 1, 2010

*Is anyone assisting with the planning?
Primarily FI and me (he is a way-involved groom!), plus help from my parents and future
MIL. (And PS!!)

*Where are you having the wedding? Different from the reception site?
We''ll be getting married at the church I grew up in, which is also where we met! Reception will be across the street at the church hall.

*How many BM''s/GM''s are in the wedding?
Oooh dear. An admittedly obscene number.
8 bridesmaids (including MOH)
4 groomsmen (including BM)
2 groomsgirls
2 page/ring-bearers (my nephews)
1 flower girl (my niece)
3 senior flower girls/junior bridesmaids/PLEASE help think of a better title (his nieces)

*What are your colors?
Silver/pewter for the girls'' and guys'' dresses and ties, and otherwise using a general "hydrangea" palette...the periwinkle and ice blues, vibrant greens, some pinks. All hydrangea, all the time.

*Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
Us. We want it to feel like US.

(Oh, and HYDRANGEA.)

*What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
Ummm....hydrangea??
(And also roses, bells of ireland, and other seasonal/cheap/cost-effective stuff where needed. Anything big, bloomy, fresh, pretty, hydrangeay.)

*DJ or band? What kind of music?
Neither. We''re doing ye olde Ipod & speakers for the reception so we can control the play list and not have one of those wildcard DJ''s who loves his own voice and says cheesy stuff and asks you to raise your glasses to "the brrrrIIIIIIDDEEEE and GROOOOOM!" I hate that guy.)
The ceremony music will be gorgeous: FI is a professional singer/musician, so we''re calling in all our favors. We''ll have a stunning 4-piece a capella choral group, plus organ for other music and hymns.

*What kind of food will be served? (including cake) How will it be served?
Just in the planning stages, but our caterer''s watchwords are "fun, flavorful, healthy." He''s one of the best chefs in town: FI''s mom was a chef, so again: calling in our favors! There will be a carving station and FOR SURE a cheese station, but otherwise probably a lot of fresh seasonal salads, a fish, some kind of yummy pasta (like an Israeli couscous, lots of veggie options, etc. Some sort of combination of stations/buffet/family-style. Wine/champagne/beer only.
We''re doing a cupcake tower with a small cake on top for us to cut.

*How many people are invited?
We''re shooting for 175, and the current guest list spread sheet is only a tad above that now...What''s the normal spread between expected/invited?

*What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
OK. Wearing my sister''s antique Belgian Lace veil (somewhere between sweep and chapel length. It''s gorgeous.)
I''m going to make a cardigan/shrug/jacket thing for just the church from the lace on my mom''s dress (It had a Bertha collar, so there''s a lot of material to use.)
I have three ivory silk hydrangea (like mini blossoms) hairpins on Etsy that I''ll wear either under the veil, or put in my hair for the reception.
I don''t have pierced ears--no earrings.
I will probably wear my baby pearls that both my mom and I wore, and my niece wore them for her baptism. They are TEENY so they really won''t disrupt the dress''s neckline.
BLUE shoes! Probably the ones I already bought from David''s that look like blueroses. (I read, like, a bar code on them at first and thought they were like $399. They were $65. I bought them.)

*What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
I have yet to update my first dress shopping thread--I have a gazillion pics to upload. I have decided to sell the 2006 Demetrios (Illusions collection #3002 in sand) from my previous 5-minute engagement.
But I happily fell in LOVE with the CHEAPEST dress I tried on by pure chance...yay! It''s David''s Bridal Galina v8798. FI and I decided to break the rules and shop together and I''m SO glad we did. He won''t see it again until the wedding day, but it was really special to share the experience. Same dress at reception, but bustled, and without the lace shrug.

*Any wedding ring ideas?
We will have matching plain low-dome, comfort-fit white gold bands--4mm for him and less than 2mm for me....which will both be stacked with our more ornate e-rings! The family stone in my ring came from a gorgeous deco palladium setting with 4 baguettes. We had a 4mm band made for him, using the donor metal plus more, and the 4 bags are set in N/S/E/W. We finally got it today and it''s WONDERFUL. He''s wearing it on his right hand until we''re married, then stacking them so it''s 8mm of finger acreage. Plus, we love that we used all the pieces of the family ring for both of ours.)

*Where to for the honeymoon?
We''re thinking Hawaii, but we really don''t know. We''re both big travelers, but think this isn''t the time (for us, anyway) to do that: if we went to some big cultural destination we''d both feel compelled to get out and go to museums and stuff. Our overriding criterion for the honeymoon is: Umbrella Drinks. Seriously. We want to sit on a beach with umbrella drinks, books, and REALLY high SPF and just enjoy being married.

Any favor ideas?
Yes! Once again, friends and family are hooking us up. One of my main gays bakes and will make truffles. I found some of those cute little organza drawstring favor bags on ebay--they were $25 for 40 and I got them for $3.75 for 40. So the truffles will go on those. And then a student of my mom''s is from the Phillipines and will bring back a bunch of these carved sandalwood fans when she comes back to CA after the summer. Exactly what we did for my sister''s wedding, and they''re great. Cheap, useful, and we''ll DIY some cute quote or something to tie on each of them. Done!

*Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
Yes and no. The ceremony will be a very traditional Episcopal Eucharist: lots of music, readings, Communion, traditional vows, the whole thing. I''ll be walked down the aisle by both of my parents, and FI wants to do that too--with his parents, not mine, THAT''D be weird!)--which I love. It will be formal, but still us.
The reception: We''ll cut the cake, first dance, dance with Dads and Moms, and toasts...but that may be it. There will be no bouquet toss: my friends are a good decade too old to subject to that. No garter either. We may do something with presenting the bouquet to the longest-together couple at the reception.

This was fun, guys....great to see everyone''s progress/stories!

When did you get engaged? July 11, 2008

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
Alfred Angelo 1678 with the sash in navy! I won''t be changing for the reception.

Any wedding ring ideas?
FI bought it together with my engagement ring. He hasn''t shown it to me yet. He said it''s a wrap style.

Where to for the honeymoon?
My mom just offered to pay for our honeymoon, but we haven''t decided where yet.

Any favor ideas?
I have white favor boxes already, since we both like chocolate covered pretzels, I think we might do homemade ones. I found vanilla flavored navy blue candy melts that I may use on half and the rest milk chocolate!

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
My dad will walk me down the aisle, father/daughter and mother/son dance, garter toss, boquet toss, money dance(I think it''s kind of nice, gives you a chance to talk one on one with some of the guests)

What was in this reponse that warrented an eye-roll? Did I miss something?

About two days later.

How long will you have been engaged before the wedding?
One year, six days.

What day is your wedding?
June 20, 2009

Is anyone assisting with the planning?
My wonderful, super-organized mom. She is a miracle-worker and a saint!

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site?
Our ceremony was at a Catholic church, and our reception was at a farm-turned-event-center with Victorian-style decor.

How many BM''s/GM''s are in the wedding?
Seven and seven, plus two ushers, and a traditional Ukrainian master and mistress of ceremonies.

What are your colors?
Dark purple and green

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
Hmm, no specific theme. Orchids, maybe? I just picked things I loved.

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
They were almost all orchids. I had white cymbidiums with pink throats for my bouquet, green cymbidiums with fuchsia throats for the girls'' bouquets and the cake, white and green dendrobiums for the boutonnieres and to scatter on tables, and potted white phalaenopsis for the centerpieces. We had pomanders made of green button mums, and our church flowers were a little bit of everything in purple and green.

DJ or band? What kind of music?
DJ. We had all kinds of music. The biggest hit? "I''m on a Boat" by the Lonely Island.

What kind of food will be served? (including cake ) How will it be served?
For our plated dinner, there was a mixed greens salad with balsamic vinaigrette, and a choice of ginger salmon, grilled sirloin, or ratatouille in puff pastry for the entree. The cake was chocolate fudge with raspberry filling, French vanilla with lemon curd filling, and tiramisu. Heaven!

How many people are invited?
Invited just under 300, had just under 200 attend.

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
I had a very long, single-layer veil with no embellishments and just had two little dendrobium orchids pinned in my hair. I wore my hair down. I had a necklace made by a seller on Etsy, and it was perfect! I was planning on wearing pearl earrings I had, but DH surprised me with beautiful diamond studs as my wedding gift, so I wore those.

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
My dress was the Watters 7094B--strapless, super-thin silk charmeuse, with just a simple wrap detail at the waist and a bias-cut skirt.

Any wedding ring ideas?
Mine = eternity band of bezeled, 3.5-point RBs in platinum made by Whiteflash
His = 7mm plain, comfort fit, slightly domed tungsten band

Where to for the honeymoon?
Rome, Venice, and Bellagio, Italy! Best trip of my life.

Any favor ideas?
We had a candy bar with little organza bags for the candy. I''m actually eating some leftover wedding candy right now =).

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
Oh man, we had too many to list! Most of them were Ukrainian (my heritage).

(Link to my wedding thread if anyone''s interested in seeing photos.)

Kittybean, I don''t know if you''re aware, but your avatar is not showing up on any of your posts. I just wanted to let you know.

When did you get engaged?
May 1st, 2009 - Our 6 month anniversary, yes we may be slightly eager to move things forward. But we just knew by our second month together!

He proposed on Friday, after he went back home on Tuesday, we were planning.

How long will you have been engaged before the wedding?
1 year, 1 month, and 13 days

What day is your wedding?
Sunday, June 13th, 2010

Is anyone assisting with the planning?
FI is very involved! No decisions are made without his input and usually a discussion. FMIL is attempting to be involved, but we won''t allow it!
27.gif
My mother is quite involved as are all of my bridesmaids.

Where are you having the wedding? Is the ceremony site different from the reception site?
At my synagogue, reception is still TBD, it may be at the synagogue, it may be at a state park, it may be at my grandpa''s.

How many BM''s/GM''s are in the wedding?
5 BMs (including MOH)
1 jr. BM
5 GM (including BM)
2 Ring bearers
2 flower girls
4 Ketubah signers (Jewish wedding contract)
2 ushers
Phew!

What are your colors?
Bright royal blue with bright pink and orange accents.

Do you have a theme? If so, what is it?
Not really, I think our theme is FUN! If I could have a theme it would be flowers/garden

What kind of flowers are you having (bouquets, centerpieces, bouts)?
Me - Pink peonies, soft orange roses and freesia
BMs - Pink and orange gladiolus
Groom - Orange rose bout with hypericum berries
Everyone else - gladiolus bout/corsage, pink for the women and orange for the men.

DJ or band? What kind of music?
We are hoping and praying we can afford live musician for the ceremony only. Then ipod and speakers for the reception.

What kind of food will be served? (including cake
18.gif
) How will it be served?
Not sure yet. We are still hashing out budget. We would love to have a brunch buffet with quiche, traditional Jewish dishes, bagels and lox, bla, bla, bla. We will be lucky tho if we can actually afford light appetizers. There is a chance it will be cake and lemonade
8.gif
Cake is TBD, we only have 2 bakery choices if the reception is at the synagogue and the food has to be strictly kosher.

How many people are invited?
Well, we want to invite 150 and have a "B" list, but it''s looking like it will be 120 with no "B" list at all.

What accessories are you using? (veil, headpiece, earrings, etc)
2 tier veil with some crystal/pearl embellishments on the comb. One of my friends is going to make me a traditional kippah (yarmulke) for me and the veil will be right below this. Necklace/earings/bracelet are not decided yet.

What dress are you wearing? Are you changing dresses for the reception?
Not changing dresses. Haven''t found my dress yet, although there are 4 really fabulous options on the table. And I think I would be happy with any of them really. We have a few more shops to visit, and the final decision will completely depend on the $$$ situation.

Any wedding ring ideas?
Plain with the possibility of a design etching on the top. No stones are allowed by Jewish law, so I can''t get the matching bands to go with my ering
39.gif

Where to for the honeymoon?
Probably a Caribbean cruise

Any favor ideas?
What I would love is to do mini terra cotta pots with flowers in pinks and oranges, set at different heights in the center. It would double as a center piece and favor. However, we will likely only afford to have tents with our pictures and fun facts about us, completely DIY. For favors we might be able to swing DIY magnets with a Jewish symbol and prayer. If not, we will make a donation to the Humane Society in honor of our little furry children! Yeah, we have a lot of options and no decisions at this point.

Are you going to engage in any traditions during the ceremony/reception?
YES! The ones we are for sure doing: bride and groom separate with the female/male guests separate to do the traditional greeting and meeting. Ketubah signing and the groom veils the bride. Chuppah ceremony, circling, 7 blessings, breaking of the glass. We have not figured out yet if we will be doing the hora and shtick (where the guests and wedding party actually entertain the bride and groom, hoist them up on chairs, dance in concentric circles...) Then the meal, seven blessings again. I will be doing the traditional American first dance, father/daughter dance, H wants to do the mother/son dance. We can''t afford to do prayer books or mass kippot for the wedding guests but wish we could. Not sure if I will have enough single women to do the bouquet toss. And there will be no garter toss!

Wow, we are really undecided, but it all comes down to budget. We still don''t know how much my mom is able to give, and are going to discuss things with my grandparents. Because of my medical issues and only working part-time right now, we are on a minimalistic budget. But this was fun to get it all written out and think about it at one time, instead of separate pieces.
