Skippy congrats on the 2 lbs loss!

Mara, happy 3rd anniversary, I bet you will be in heaven at La Fondue, I LOVE fondue! Try not to consume too much melted cheese so you don''t feel ridiculously bloated the next day, LOL!

I''ve been doing mediocre as far as exercise, DH and I have managed to get out the past two nights and walk both dogs for 20-30 minutes, maybe half a mile or so...I''m still pretty swollen from my recent surgery and have to take it somewhat "easy" so no rigorous exercise for moi for another week or two. But it does feel good to get outside and move around a bit and seems to help with the swelling.

I''m still on a blended/pureed food diet, not really liquid but not solids/soft foods much yet, either. It''s hard to read this thread what with all the yummy sounding foods you guys are describing that I can''t chew yet! I''m doing ok still with smoothies and yesterday I made garlic smashed potatoes and pasta salad for DH and managed to get some of that down by taking very small bites (most of which got stuck in my new braces, I had the archwires installed a couple days ago and it''s even harder to deal with everything else going on as far as eating now!)

For inspiration to walk more, though, I did take our little Daisy to Petsmart today and bought her a new collar, leash, and harness to wear on our little walks, she looks so damn cute I could just sop her up with a biscuit, LOL! The collar is hot pink leather with brightly colored daisies with rhinestones in the centers appliqued onto it, and I got her a bright orange leather lead to "match." Even DH liked the combo and I was pleasantly surprised, since when we first got her he specified "no pink collars," ha ha! So I''m looking forward now to getting out for more walks during my time off work and having her be the focus instead of my swollen and bruised face!

Morning All!

Mara, La Fondue is my sister''s fave (she lives in Mountain View). Happy happy three year anniversary!

I am so envious of all of you that have neighborhoods conducive to walking! When I lived in my condo it was a favorite evening activity. John and I would have dinner and then cruise the neighborhood for an hour or so. We have no sidewalks and live on a mountain with lots of blind curves so it''s not safe for us to walk around here in the evenings with all of the traffic of people coming home. That is definitely something I am looking forward to about moving...all three neighborhoods we''ve focused in on have sidewalks!

It''s a working day for me then I''ll likely come home and do some exercise, it felt great yesterday, between the physical activity of being with the kids and my stint on the elliptical I felt like I really did enough yesterday! John is in charge of dinner.

Happy day to all of you.

Hi everybody!...
I keep reminding myself to come post and then I get side tracked....

Anyway, How are you guys?. I''m doing great and loving the new Polar Watch....it''s actually becoming a little bit like an obsession...hehe...tracking how many calories I burn each time, etc.

I am working out more than ever before...like 1.5 hours everyday (plus a 30 minute walk). Today I may give my body a rest though and only do cardio...I''m a little sore and I know you are suppossed to give your muscles a break...why is that anyway? to avoid injury or to get better results?

My Fiance laughs because I tell him I''m on "Bridal Boot Camp" mode!....I have until 2/22/08 to get completely fit!....he jokes and says that however I look when I say "I do" is how I have to stay forever....hehe...yeah right
2.gif

What do you guys typically snack on before exercise?. Lately I have a banana or something like that an hour before the workout...and I have a whey protein shake w/ ff milk afterwards and a small dinner (usually all veggies). I am wondering if I should have some nuts or something ebfore working out as well.

Hey kids--looks like I''m gonna live!

Talked to the doc early this morning. She said that as far as the arthritis goes, almost everyone has some somewhere and they just happened to run across mine in my spine with the scan.

And the spots on my liver are so small (1 mm or so -- what is that; like a melee stone? LOL!!) that they are almost certainly absolutely nothing, and in the absence of some other reason to do so she''s against taking a biopsy just "to see" something that is 99.99% totaly nothing. (Well I am ALSO against taking a biopsy just "to see" so we''re at least on the same page there!)

I''ve been cleared for exercise, but she told me to do something other than the elliptical (
8.gif
) to see if maybe the motion of the machine is what''s causing me aggrivation. I don''t use the arm things so I can''t imagine how that could be, but I''m not going to argue at this point.

BTW, I don''t think I ever explained how I go this doctor. I go to a practice associated with Northwestern and the doctor that I''ve had for years (who I just LOVE) is moving into more of a teaching role. When this whole chest pain started he wasn''t able to see me so I was assiged to this other doc for this problem. She wanted to see it through since she had started working with me, but believe me, any further problems and I''m going back to my original guy or I''m going to ask to be assigned to someone else.

Anyway, THANK YOU ALL for bearing with my craziness through all this!!! I am getting a new workout bra and a Polar in the next few days than them I''m going to go for some big long walks!!! (Too bad The Demon is so erratic in his walking/sniffing or I''d take him with me!)

Last night the HH and I went out for Indian food at a new place. It was OK but I didn''t realize how SALTY it was until I had the leftovers for breakfast this morning. Even as I type, I can feel the water being sucked out of my cells through osmosis in an effort to balance my internal saline system. Must go get a huge glass of water right now... !

Dee, good news!! And if your old guy can't see you, I would have HIM recommend someone else. Here's to working out again.

Shopping can *BE* a workout if you do it with vigor!

Oh Dee, that is good news! While we are on the subject of shopping, maybe consider treating yourself to a treadmill....

I would have to treat myself to a new house to put it in too since I''m out of space in the current abode.

Hmmm... {Dee scampers off to check out the new listings on the MLS... }

monarch glad to hear you are continuing to improve, yay!! and DJ congrats on getting a clean bill of health, so did they say why you might be getting those pains if you are totally healthy? don't you hate that?! it might just be a fluke thing that eventually goes away...haha our bodies are so weird sometimes. do you get the pain when walking too?

thanks for the anniversary wishes gals. i actually have a little bauble on the way from my darling hubby to commemorate this year, which i am so excited about.
31.gif

we go to la fondue like 2x a year so we finally figured out a kind of method to ensure that we can gorge ourselves to the max on each visit. i do try not to indulge too much on the cheese, because while it's soo tasty (we get the stinking rose with tons of garlic), bread and cheese fill you up mega fast if you aren't careful. then there is a salad course and the dinner calls for a salad each and these things used to be enormous, like massive, full on dinner size plus some. so we started getting into a habit of just sharing one. and now they have made them much smaller but it's still enormous considering the whole meal so we still split it and i try not to eat too much of it, but it is very good so that's hard haha. and i figure the more roughage the better to help with all that protein we are consuming!
5.gif
then we get the grilled main dinner portion, which is kind of interesting and not sure if it's just a La Fondue thing or what because Melting Pot doesn't have it...but they give you a grilled option instead of the fondue portion for dinner...grilled is so much healthier anad tasty to me than boiling the food kinda thing. so the grill option is a tabletop flat grill and they give you little containers of cilantro butter and you just basically grill up your meats on the table and you have about 6 different types of dips/sauces to use. we get the lobster tail, filet mignon and shrimp meats...sooo tasty!! plus this leaves more room in your tummy for the big finale, the chocolate!! which is of course while we all go to fondue in the first place lol. we get bittersweet with kahlua and they always give you extras of your favorite dipping items which i love. anyway, we look fwd to the visits to LF twice a year (anniversary and typically my birthday) but that is really all we can take because we feel so heavy and bloated that night and the next day, it really puts you off it for a long time!! hehe.

gosh how do i always get back on the topic of tasty food?! sorry monnie!! hehe. but trust me thinking about it feels way better than we do the day after!! we don't eat all day just to make sure we don't pass out while there. lol. and then mother's day we are going to dinner too but i already am planning to reign it in there because it's italian which is heavy as well...and i am not a huge pasta fan anyway, so i figure if i can get some sort of chicken or a salad or similar i would feel way better about it. on friday night we will get out of the concert at about 10pm so i think we might just go get some amicis pizza since i think they are open til 11 and it will be a fun way to get some dinner in but without eating too heavily or too many cals that late.

anyway, last nite my hodgepodge dinner was pretty tasty, i was out of veggie burgers so i used a cilantro lime chicken burger from TJ's and added in some papaya mango salsa from TJ's and it was goood!! i got really hungry an hour later as well so i had like 1/2 a serving of fiber one with milk and 4 blueberries just to tide me over til sleepytime and also figured it was a good way to get a bit more fiber in to help my body out with the day's festivities.

breakfast this morning was a bit of a change, scrambled egg whites with a bit of 2% cheddar and a piece of whole wheat light toast with spray butter. i am trying to keep my breakfasts around 100-125 cals now because i find i *always* get hungry at around 10:30 regardless of what i eat earlier...whether it's 100 cals or 300 cals...so i might as well just eat something to wake myself up in the early morning but not blow the calorie bank, then i have a snack of around 75 cals at 10:30 which tides me til lunch. so far it has been working great the last 2 weeks and i feel less stressed about trying to stay full til launch by just knowing that i will have a snack in a few hours and it's probably better for my body anyway!

hope everyone's day is shaping up nicely..it's a little foggy here but it should burn off for another nice sunny day. kimberly, i love that our neighborhood is so conducive for walking...we have all types of streets where we are so i have kind of a few 'routes' to follow depending on what i feel like or where i want to go (aka all internal neighborhoods with big houses and tree lined streets or along a busy street but more of a straight shot in terms of distance, or doing internal neighborhoods to get to this big rosegarden park about a mile away then doing laps around the park and neighborhoods over there, the library is only a mile away etc)...when we talk about moving from our townhouse to a 'real house'...i would love to stay in the area we are in..mostly because it's being developed quite quickly and quite well (whole foods coming in a block from us in a year) which bodes well for house values...and because we are close to downtown, but we are quite firmly ensconced in a real neighborhood with old houses, some of which can be hit or miss, but a few blocks over are like 1-3million dollar homes. so it's an interesting area and we like it. we are thinking of maybe just staying put for now...as we do love our place and we are interested in seeing how things shape up in the next year or two around here.

anyhow, have a fab day everyone, happy working out, happy working, happy eating, happy everything!! it's almost friday, woo hoo.

ditto for deejay...and ditto for mara..clue''s...pretty please???? congrats on 3 years too....

so, I got up at 5:30am to take Zoe on an extra long neighborhood walk b/f hubby leaves. I was going to workout at the gym b/f my daughters swim lessons but after such a long walk I really wanted to just take a shower and get dressed, treat myself to a iced sugar free vanilla soy latte from starbucks and sit and enjoy watching other people freezing in the cold pool while trying to teach my kids who don''t seem to be effected by cold pool water how to swim. It was really nice and relaxing which I needed. Tonight I''m making grilled chicken salads for dinner and will take Zoe on another walk closer to sundown when it''s not so hot out..then hubby and I will watch grey''s..and yay for it almost being friday!!

DeeJay, I''m so glad to hear there''s nothing wrong with you. But, I would recommend another doctor the next time something needs to be attended to. Still, GREAT news and great that you''ve been cleared for exercise. But, I can''t for the life of me understand how the elliptical itself could have influenced your chest pains. I''m sure it''s a good thing to follow her advice, but still seems odd to me.

Mara, Happy 3 Year Anniversary a coupld days early. The Fondue place sounds terrific. You and Greg are just kids at 3 years........LOL Wait till you''ve crossed more than a quarter of a century. Charlie and I will be together 27 years this July. Still seems like yesterday we met.

Sounds like you''re really doing great there Mandarine. I''m sure you''ll reach your goals by the I DO date!

I had an interview and the job was offered, but I''m just not sure yet. It would be building something from nothing and that part is interesting. I know all the people and in a way, that''s a good thing too as they''re kind of quirky to say the least. The job is 100% commission though and that''s just hard to fathom at this point in my life. I know ultimately I could make a lot of money if I build a successful division, but commission only??? They''d give me a small draw to start, but still, I just don''t know. I''m not going to jump at it and I told them that. They were OK with me taking some time and I also let them know there was another position I''m being considered for that would be something I felt I needed to wait and see if it comes through. Anyway, it''s a least an option and I will continue to think about this one.

Am heading to the gym soon. I''ll check in later and see how everyone''s doing.

lol the suspense is killing me too so if *I* have to wait, you guys have to wait too!! i will definitely post when i've got it in my paws! the story is kind of funny...Greg realized this monday evening he was out of 'gift credit' and asked me to tell him what i wanted for this anniversary. i told him it'd be nice to have something to commemorate the 3 year mark and he agreed, so he gave me a budget, i showed him what i wanted, he said it was TOO SMALL
6.gif
and then got me the next larger size.
2.gif
so it's shipping Friday and i am SOO excited!! it all just really happened this week (and most of it while i was in that all day long meeting on Tues, thank god for internet access lol) so it was kind of a whirlwind, he gets mega brownie hubby points! i told my girlfriend that i think he is just happy that he doesn't have to pony it up for another 'upgrade' this year so he is like 'something else? sure!!'. so anyway he gets it on saturday, i don't know if i will have to wait til dinner for it but if so, that is okay!! hehe.

rod, i have some experience with the 100% commission thing. i did it for 2 years at my previous job before psycho woman. it's a tough business but if you can build your client base and really work at it then the rewards CAN be great. but it was too stressful for me after a while. the ups and downs, and not having a steady income after a while kind of wore on me. it's great if you have one person who can 'support' you while the down times are happening but even then after a while i was like gosh i am tired of not really knowing what next month or the next 6 months are going to bring me. plus my heart was not really in sales anyway, i am a marketing person at heart aka working behind the scenes to help create sales hehe. honestly, i don't know that i'd want to be almost into retirement and doing that job unless i didn't need the money at all. the pressure otherwise would just get to me long-term. but it might be something fun to do short term however it can take up to a year to build up your base (depending on industry and all that) so it is kind of more a long-term thing in my opinion. anyway think about it but i would keep looking. is there any way to get them to give you a base salary plus commission if they REALLY want you? i find that is more mentally motivating sometimes but you don't have to be totally dependent on clients...which can suck sometimes.

mrs salvo sounds like you had an enjoyable morning...!! chicken salads sound yummy tonite!

i'm eating the kashi southwest chicken again for lunch. i really like the 'pilaf' that kashi has in these entrees. it basically is like brown rice, barley, buckwheat, etc. and that is soo up my alley. i walked over to whole foods at lunch..i love that it's so close...1/2 mile each way walk. got some fage, a new Vosges chocolate bar with almonds and sea salt (They had a yummy hazelnut one too), some cherries, and some diced pineapple for snack. yummy!

i had my mom drop P off at home this afternoon because greg is coming home early. so he is going to walk with me this evening which will be nice to spend some time together! our weeks are so busy we don't see each other much. then we might eat at home (i have TJ pizzas for us) or he was saying he might want to go to the creole/cajun place near the house...which would be yummy, i get a big apple, pecan, and bleu cheese salad and then we share a popcorn shrimp...so we'll see how we feel later.

off to step class
3.gif

Mara I can''t wait till Saturday. hehehe

MRSS great job on the exercise with Zoe
1.gif

Mara, thanks for your point of view and advice. I intend to keep looking. They give a draw against commission, which they liken to a base, but they recover the draw from future earnings. According to the president of the company, he finally let one lady go after not making any commissions after 4 years. My, what tolerance, so it seems they don''t expect instant miracles. And I would be running my own division and as it grew (assuming it grows), I''d be making an override of the people under me. So, there are some attractive options there. One guy there is super successful and has built a division over a lot of years in the insurance world and he makes nearly $500,000 a year. I could certainly enjoy that kind of money. But as you said, there''s pressure in all commission sales and I''m still not sure it''s what I want to do. So, I won''t jump at the first job offered this time and I will take some time to make sure there isn''t anything else out there for me. I have to go to work sometime. I need to be able to pay for that new BMW I just ordered. LOL

I had a really good workout this afternoon. After the 3 hour interview, I needed a 3 hour workout and I just kept going and going and going, like the Energizer Rabbit........LOL Since tomorrow''s Friday I have to decide what I want to do. When I''m working, I don''t workout on Fridays. But being unemployed, I''ve been doing cardio on Friday''s. My knee is much much better so I''m tempted to go for a run. But we have a training session Saturday and if I hurt my knee running, I won''t be able to withstand the rigorous workout our trainer puts us through. Should I run (that''s what I really want to do) or should I go to the gym and just do 45 intense minutes on the elliptical. Decisions Decisions. Such a quandry. LOL

We had salad for dinner, so nothing remarkable there. I wasn''t exactly good at lunch though. After my interview, Charlie and I went to the Earl of Sandwhich and I had a whole sandwhich (we usually split one) which I know has a bazillion calories in it ( I checked their website and they don''t list nutritional information), PLUS I had a bag of chips. I just needed the carbs I guess.

I hope everyone''s having a nice Thursday night in your part of the world!

Hi all!

It''s been a good day. 1st work and then schoolwork. I ate a cookie in the lunchroom today at work...I can''t remember the last time I ate a cookie, boy was it yummy! It''s a good thing that the calorie info was available as it allowed me to indulge w/o overdoing! I will still come in at 1500 calories today with my little cookie splurge.

John made veal and a green salad for dinner, that was delicious too! He''s so good about sharing the cooking responsibilities...I''m really lucky that way.

Hope everyone has a great night!

K

Kimberly Yah, for doing well w/cookie splurge. How is school? I bet the kids like having your for their teacher!!! Your hubby sounds like a wonderful cook!

Rod, I think you would do well in sales because of your wonderful personality! Wow, a 3 hr workout; you rock! You are the Energizer Bunny.

Mara, have a nice evening w/hubby!!! Thanks for the advice on the catameran. How long was your boat ride???

I did step and I was starving while doing it. I never had that happen; I kept debating whether to leave class or not because I felt a little light headed. I stayed till the end but next time I think I will eat a snack before the class so that doesn't happen again. Hubby made me a nice beef and broccoli dinner.
3.gif

Yah, tomorrow is Friday!!!

evening all!

we went for a 2.5m walk with portia when we got home and then invited our neighbors to go to the creole place for dinner with us. walked over there with them, i had the big salad with my TJ''s dressing, and then shared the cornmeal breaded popcorn shrimp with greg and a piece of cornbread with butter. yummy! it was fun to hang with our neighbors, tomorrow they go to Pismo Beach for the wkd..they are staying at the same place we did when we went. it''s their anniversary on sunday so they are one day after ours! pretty fun!

lol skippy i can''t wait either! glad you had a good step class even if you were a little hungry. until dinner today i only ate about 650 cals so i was feeling a little light myself before that haha. our boat ride was about 45 minutes i think from one island to the next. kimberly glad you enjoyed your cookie.

rod, so for lunch you ate a sandwich and a bag of chips? surely that''s not really considered a BAD thing...esp with a 3 hour workout? reality check! hehe. re: the sales gig, one of the things that bothered me the most doing sales is that you are so at the mercy of your clients and especially with 100% commission, you are dependent on their budgets and them coming through, them actually paying up at the end etc. it wasn''t just about the sale..but also about the client and customer service and all that. and i am really not built for customer service hehee. but it was fun while i did it. but the fact that you''d get a cut of your employees does sound a little better. in any case, def take your time!

tomorrow is friday, yay!! greg has a concert tomorrow evening which i will attend and then we''ll either go out to a lightish dinner or just come home and i will make the TJ pizzas for us...we''re not sure what we want to do yet and figure we''ll play it by ear as the concert gets out at 10pm so we''ll see how we feel. i am hitting the gym tomorrow after work for my elliptical time which will be a nice break from walking. sleep well all!

Hi Skippy,

Thanks so much for asking!

School is good. The class I''m in now is an autistic class of preschool-2nd graders. There''s an autistic girl in the class which is pretty unusual, at least in my experience. About 1/2 the class is verbally capable. There''s one little boy who is violent and runs every chance he gets. It''s apperant that his parents give him whatever he wants when he becomes violent so he exhibits the behaviors at school as well. He punched me in the face twice yesterday, hit me about 20 times, pushed me and scratched up my arms (I look like I was attacked by a cat!). His parents have stopped attempting to socialize him in any way...he goes to school and spends the rest of his time at home, sort of like a caged animal. It''s really unfortunate as there are treatments available that can help him but they seem more interested in making him happy than pushing him to succeed.

The higher functioning kids become attached to people, but those who are low functioning typically do not, so they don''t really care if they see their teacher, me or someone else. Many of them do not demonstrate affection or recongition of people.

I''m so glad that I have the opportunity to spend the rest of the year with these guys, it''s such an amazing and challenging experience.

On the health front, we''re going to go out for dinner tonight, probably to a local Mexican restaurant we both love.

Have a great day all!

I am kind of surprised the school would allow that. I realize he''s a special needs child, but that shouldn''t be acceptable imo...

and then got me the next larger size.

What I take this to mean is that you''re getting the 7 ct instead of the 5 ct from Whiteflash!

That must be it!

merrijoy - I know those fires are terrible....all the smoke makes it very hard to exercise outdoors!!!. Is that a schnauzer? he/she is so cute :) .....mine is black, he's a fire ball. Right now he's barking at a quirrel that is sitting right outside the window, it's driving him NUTZ!!!!...hehe

M~

Correction: I meant the fires are terrible in general, not just because of the inconvenience of working out otuside...hehe...sorry, that just sounded bad the way I said it!

oh my gosh how did you guys guess?!!? YES! it''s the 7c! we are packing up the house this weekend and heading to live under the bridge, think the fedex guy will be able to find us under there to deliver the ring?
2.gif
hehehe. nope gals sorry to disappoint but it''s not the 7c. awww shucks. hehee. greg asked me last nite ''so are you tracking the package''...i was like ''it hasn''t even shipped yet silly''...hehee. anyway he''s so cute about the whole thing, i can tell he is eager as well.

my anniversary gift to greg is a little less exciting but i know he will like it...he is always so hard to buy for and he really likes practical gifts, but this last weekend he said we should get bicycles so we can ''extend our range'' of traveling without a car. he has mentioned this before but we never actually went out and did anything...so i thought ah ha!! so on saturday i am going to take him shopping...i found that target and walmart both have basic bicycles, either road bikes or cruiser style for affordable prices....so hopefully we can find a pair for us!! all the specialty stores have bikes that start at like $400-500 and i don''t even know how often we will end up riding them...so i''d rather spend a little less for our ''first pair''. if we turn into mega cyclists then we can always get nicer ones later. but i am excited thinking of all the places we can go on the bikes...aka restaurants that were out of our walking range for dinner, it would be fun to bicycle over to the walking trail and then go for a walk/run there, then bicycle home.

mandarine, for moms day we are going to dinner with my immediate family which includes, us, my parents, my sisters, and my grandma...my mom wanted italian so we are doing one of her fave restaurants. i am getting her a spa gift cert. for grandma i am still stuck...but she typically wants practical no-nonsense kind of stuff so i am thinking while we are at target tomorrow i can see if they have any cute kitchen stuff as she loves to cook. the last few mom''s days i have given her small jewelry items. greg''s mom got ''bread of the month'' club from boudin sourdough, she LOVES sf sourdough so we got her a 6 month package, and his stepmom is getting something from RE that is backordered so unfortunately she''ll just have a card this sunday...but hopefully the gift itself will ship soon. hey how are your arms healing?

anyway breakfast today is 1/2 a fage with splenda, blueberries, fiber one and some cinnamon all mixed up, with coffee. lunch will probably be the lime cilantro shrimp entree unless i eat some brown rice with a protein burger but i am out of veggies to mix it with so probably not. it''s friday, woo hoo!! hope everyone has a great last workday and is looking fwd to a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning Everyone,

Mara, I know I obsess over what I eat, but trust me a whole sandwich from Earl of Sandwich is a lot. They make their own sandwich bread, which are really like small loaves of bread, and they bake them fresh for each sandwich, when it is ordered. But......you get the whole small loaf of bread AS the sandwich. And the sandwich I ordered, The Full Motagu, includes roast beef, turkey, raspberries, cheeses, fattening sauces and some other ingredients I can''t recall. They make the sandwich unbaked, then put the whole thing on a conveyor-oven and voila, out pops a fully cooked small loaf sandwich. So, I know by eating this entire sandwich, I did consume more calories than I should have for lunch, plus the bag of chips.

So sad to read about the out of control child Kimberly. It''s simply amazing to me that there are people like you who can handle special needs children. I hope you''re not in pain from being hit and scratched.

I just heard that the wicked lady who was responsible for me being laid off from job after 15 years was just laid off today. What goes around, comes around. She was an evil evil witch. There really is justice in this world. Rod takes a moment to smile and laugh wickedly...........Buahahahahahahah!!

The prevailing winds have brought back the smoke from the fires from the Georgia/Florida border and it''s so thick that they''re advising people to avoid exercising outdoors. That makes it easier for me to choose the elliptical in the gym as opposed to running outside. So, I''ll go to the gym later this afternoon and just do core and cardio.

Then of course it''s Friday night and I''ll meet sir Charlie for Sushi at our favorite Sushi spot.

Have a great start to the weekend y''all...........

Yes, that is my beautiful girl Schnauzer who passed on Dec 19, 2006 at the age of 14 years and 3 months. I miss her dearly, she was so special. She rarely barked. We are debating getting another one. Of course, if we do get another dog, it will be a Schnauzer as there is where my heart belongs.

Tuesday night here was really bad, but I think it is getting a bit better. There was a nice breeze last night and my girlfriend and I ran/walked 5.5 miiles. I also did Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday at the gym - 30 - 40 minutes weights and 40 - 50 minutes cardio (both each day). On Wednesday, I did an HIIT routine on the treadmill. It was a lot of fun and I am surprisingly not as sore as I thought I'd be. I did the ellipse for 40 minutes Sunday, the treadclimber and stairclimber for 40 minutes Tuesday and 50 minutes treadmill HIIT on Wednesday and then my 5.5 miler yesterday. I take off today and back at it Sat and Sunday.

And I completely understand what you are saying about the fires.

No worries.

ETA: That is to say Tuesday night was bad here fire wise - very smoky.
