My two mini foxies would give their right paws for some corn chips! Ebony, is quite fond of apple cores, but the other, Bubbles, hasn''t acquired her sister''s taste for them! They both adore cheese and icecream too.

When I saw the title of the thread I thought for sure Monster Dog would be the weirdest! But, WOW! all of your pets sure do eat the strangest things! MD barely even registers, but it''s still funny!

So, the weirdest thing monster dog eats is raw asparagus ends, even though normally he won''t touch veggies. One time (while cooking) Dh and I were debating m.dog''s intelligence. To prove a point DH picks up a trimmed end of an asparagus, holds it up over the dog''s head and said ''want a cookie? Cookie? Monster dog wants a cookie? Ummmm cookie!'' And the dog acted like it was a cookie: bounced around, drooled, and happily ate it! Then he begged for more ''cookies''. To this day he still thinks asparagus ends are cookies.

Which just goes to prove that 1) Monster dog is at least smart enough to know the word cookie. and 2) He eats treats so fast he never actually tastes them.

OMG me and BF were in like tears of laughter over this that is absolutely hilarious.

I am fairly glad to know my cats are normal, well as normal vegimite eating/boogie board kitties can be :P

ang curling ribbon has also been banned from my house for the same reason. it is fairly disconcerting to clean the litter box and find random pieces of ribbon and other "goodies" undigested floating about

.

Plastic is also a fave to climb in and chew I think anything goes with the little one.

Ta Dah!! loves to eat papertowels. I don''t know why, but he''ll fish them out of the trash every chance he gets.

FliipFlop loves to eat orange peels of all things. She goes nuts whenever we peel an orange. We have to throw out the trash as soon as possible, or she''ll keep jumping and getting all hyper for peels. It''s funny as anything.

BooBop (our cat) just likes cat food. She doesn''t beg for anything and she doesn''t go nuts (other than when she chases the dogs).

Our cats love to play with and chew on plastic and pens. You know the plastic part of the milk jug that you take off when first opening milk? They LOVE those. They also love to play with and eat Q-Tips (just the cotton part though, not the stick). As far as edible things, they love milk and cereal and yogurt. Our female loves to (if she gets there in time) flick food off someone''s plate, drop it to the floor, and play with it or nibble on it. We really should start eating at the table more often and not in the living room. She''s only done this once or twice if we leave a plate on the end table unattended for a minute.

For some reason, both cats have a fascination with water (or any liquid probably) in a glass. Our male car will straddle the toilet and drink from the bowl.
14.gif
He''ll also climb into the tub and drink from the faucet if there''s water dripping. Both of them will stick their paws in a glass and play. Oh they think that''s so much fun. What''s even more fun is to knock over a whole glass of water and then either walk away or lap it up as it falls to the floor.

So yeah, you''re not alone.

My parents have a kitty that they rescued out of a mall parking lot when she was so small she had to be fed with an eye dropper.

She thinks she is human, having been separated so young from her mother. Whatever my parents eat, she thinks she should eat. She loves salad, fruit, yogurt . . . my dad sets out a special plate with her favoite flavor - coconut cream pie! If he calls "yogurt!" she comes running.

My dog, Charisma, goes nuts everytime I prepare a salad or eat fruit, he loves:

lettuce
tomatoes
bananas
apples (he will eat the core)
carrots
celery
and pretty much any fruit
and he likes bread and popcorn

My kitty like pistachio shells & nuts, vanilla ice cream, and Killan''s beer.

We found out about the beer (only Killan''s, no other type) when I was drinking in bed and knocked a bottle over. Since the bedspread was treated with some kind of stain protector the liquid didn''t seep in as quickly and she lapped it up.

She''s actually a very fraidy kitty so we knew she was really into vanilla ice cream when she jumped on the table and started licking it off my MIL''s spoon in the time in took my MIL to get the spoon from the bowl to her mouth. We don''t even have a freezer so I have no idea where kitty first got ice cream from - maybe that was the first time.

Other than those three foods she loves to chew on her litter box. No other plastic pieces, just the litter box.

My cat likes to chew on plastic shopping bags

My dogs like to eat poop out of the litter box and dirty diapers out of the garbage...

Fun thread! I have 3 kitties, Charles, Olivia and Ophelia, and Charles and Olivia LOVE weird food, but Ophelia doesn''t eat anything but cat food and tuna fish. She doesn''t even care when I try to give her treats or people food. Here''s the weird stuff Charles and Olivia like:

Charles:
Tortilla chips-he loves them and will eat as many as I let him have!
Laughing Cow cheese triangles-he freaks out when I have one and bothers me until I break down and give him some
chicken and turkey
yogurt, all flavors
Cheerios

Olivia:
Special K cereal-she loves it and will eat as much as I let her have
cardboard boxes-she loves to chew on them and spit the pieces out
lettuce-she especially loves the mesclun salad in a bag
chicken and turkey
yogurt, all flavors
oatmeal
tape and plastic bags-she really just licks them but it''s still weird!

Her own fur.

Warning, this response might be a little...tmi, so if you''re squeamish, stop here. This thread reminds me of when I first started staying the night at my ex''s. Well, at the beginning of most relationships, people have embarrassing first moments (like the first time you realized you had spinach in your teeth while grinning ear to ear all night, or spilled coffee down that cute white shirt you were wearing). Well, when I first started staying the night at my ex''s, I soon discovered that his dear sweet pooch loved digging in the bathroom trash. In fact, his absolute favorite thing to dig out of there were my...ummm...feminine products. I was horrified when my then boyfriend tried to figure out what Scrappy was chewing on, only to find, well, you know. All I could think of was, thank goodness J worked in medicine long enough not to be squeamish about those things.

Pistachio shells can't be good!

My parents had some friends over and were going to eat on the patio... they came back out to the table from getting napkins n stuff from the kitchen and found a staggering Siberian Husky with bulging sides... she bit open and drank a 6-pack and ate a whole pizza!

I forgot to mention this on my first post since my dog doesn''t actually eat it... he just wants to... I think...

In the morning before I leave for work, I feed my fish. I get the frozen brine shrimp outta the freezer. I walk into the room with the fish tanks... before I can get down the steps the psycho dog charges past me and jumps onto the chair near fish tank #1...

...he catches a whiff of the shrimp and goes uber-psycho! He starts contorting and rolling and scratching on the chair. He continues until I make a move towards fish tank #2 and he runs and jumps onto the other chair and does the same thing. When I bring the shrimp back to the freezer, he runs past me and rolls on the carpet then starts running through the house ricocheting off couches and burning tile in the kitchen.

He''s so bizarre.

Sera...you know those crawdads or crayfish creatures? There are birds in our area that eat them and fly away with them...some of their body parts will land in the yard and both my children can''t wait to roll and squirm about on the scraps that fall from the sky. I wonder if it isn''t the same that your munchin is experiencing? Sorta fishy and bizarre?

My kids are fed green beans, peas, honey, molasses, coconut oil, flax seeds and oil daily. But what really gets them dancing is Tuna. They go nuts for tuna. Hubby will occasionally give them a sardine...but any fish and they are outta here. Tuna is numero uno. They also love watermelon. Not cantaloupe. Cooked carrot not raw. Sweet potato.

Hubby read that the green bean has a similar or exact thing that grass has. Feeding the green beans will deter the grass eating.

Oh also nuttso on the oranges...Peel or flesh it doesnt matter! Of course peanut butter. I keep my jars and leave a tad in them so when we get scary thunderstorms the will have some distraction. It works like a charm. Love this thread!!

Fisher of men...love that Flip Flop name...that is so creative!!

LOL yeah! It''s the craziest thing!

That totally reminded me of this time at Sea World and something a feathered stranger ate at Sea World... this couple sat down and their young child wanted to sit at his own table... the kid picks up his hamburger, looks at it, is about to take a big bite, when a seagull swoops in and snatches the thing outta his hand! The whole thing! The kid started bawling (I tried not to laugh too loudly!

I have really enjoyed reading everyones responses, it is fairly like ohhh my kitties love that too :)

My cats (my dog did as well) LOVE tuna no other fish but TUNA they go ape if they hear me opening the can and come running and then stare at me till I give them some :) they are fairly spoiled little things :), my puppy also loved Chuppa chups he would hunt them out if we dropped them anywhere and hold the stick in hi paw and lick them sooo cute :)

The Kitties also like vegimite toast and blueberry extra chewing gum :P (Not that I would give it to them) but the little ones tries to literally pry it out of my mouth silly little bugger ;)

vegimite toast

That stuff is real? I thought it was only words in a song...Men at Work? Wasn''t it "VEGIMITE sandwich?"

That happened to me too with an ex-boyfriend! Only he was totally baffled as to what the dog was chewing on.... First thought I had was ''Just how long has it been since you''ve had a girlfriend??'' (second thought should have been ''and why has it been that long?'')

My dogs do this as well, I just did not have the guts to mention it, lol!

Our year-old cockapoo Luke swallowed part of his chew toy last year and had to be taken to the vets for an x-ray. While there, we met a kitty who was there for a post-op check-up. Apparently, the kitty had eaten a flip-flop! Yes, a flip-flop. However, that is not the start of the story - same kitty ate the first flip flop some months back and had an operation ($3600!). Months later, Kitty must have found the other flip-flop and had eaten it too
6.gif
. There went another $3600. Her owner (bless her soul) said that this was the first and only pair that she had eaten so something in that pair of flip flops must have had her really going for it..

At that point, I had stopped whining about the $375 Xray bill
21.gif
.

Hubbys first dog, a Weimaraner, would eat ANYTHING you feed him. Pizza, chinese food, you name it. Hubby took him out to go potty, he thought something was wrong with the dog. As it turned out, the dog ate his red shirt.

Another time, this is really gross, the dog barged into the bathroom and ATE a used sanitary napkin. Ate it in one gulp.
14.gif

My dogs will eat absolutely anything, being beagles, so I'll leave them out of this...

I did have a cat, however, who loved nothing more than being treated with canned mandarin orange segments or mini marshmallows. Also had an Apaloosa horse named Cricket who not only loved the usual cubes of sugar, but LifeSavers, Werthers, and Skittles. I thought that was the funniest thing as a child...it's probably no big deal to an adult who knows sugar=candy, but at 5 or 6 years old I didn't make the connection and I thought it was crazy that a horse would eat kiddie candy!

Super yummy yummy on crumpets too!!

Our little Mina (kitten) loves to steal popcorn from our bowl on movie night at home, and she loves to steal french fries from the Wendy''s bag.

Our cat loves potato.

The dogs love everything, especially amber. They do have an awful habit of eating the cat poo out of the litter tray if we''re not home to clean it-it''s horrible
14.gif
Amber used to have a bad habit of eating knickers and socks-we were so lucky that they passed through her and didn''t get lodged!

One of my cats used to love tomato soup.

Slippers loves cheetos (licks the cheese off), ham and cucumbers. Strange!! I come home from the grocery store and go to put the lunch meat away and she comes running looking for a piece of ham (only give her small pieces at a time, too salty)

My late Amazu-cat loved tofu so much that he would pull the empty containers out of the recycling bin and chew on them. He''d also tip over the garbage can and gnaw on whatever was in there. A lid helped for a little while, until he figured his way around that as well. Gross!

I have one cat that will eat anything! She watches me throw things away and then tries to get in the garbage, she jumps in the kitchen sink to lick any dirty plate or find any crumb she can. I have to keep her separate from the other animals because she'll INHALE her food and then go the dog's and other cat's food.
My other cat likes anything resembling a string or a chord. He eats my hair ties, sometimes pulling on them as I'm sleeping. He eats shoelaces, drawstrings from pants and sweaters, wires from electronics (yikes, we try to keep these things out of the way as much as possible) headphones etc...
My dogs LOVE kitty litter, YUCK! I've even got a box with a cover and door and everything and they still go for it. And when we clean the box we used to tie up the bags and throw them away in the back yard garbage can, not anymore! One day I came home to find my yard a mess and bits of plastic bag and dirty kitty litter all over the place, including on the dog's faces.

ETA: I used to have a cat who loved q-tips too, but only used ones, ewww! I would throw them in the trash and later find that she had fished them out and was chewing and playing with them. I tried to give her some clean ones to play with, and she just ignored them.
