After somehow avoiding covid for so long both me and my 2 daughters have tested positive and are now moping around the house while we wait to feel better.

Hubby and our 2 boys are still negative but by the looks of it we are all going to be getting it, oh well, it was good while it lasted!

So far things have be very mild which I am so grateful for, fingers crossed we all get through this without too much drama.

Hope everyone else is staying safe!

Ugh. Whatever’s going around now is just SO contagious. So many people I know have been reinfected!! But fortunately it does seem that the newest strain(s) are much less harmful, even if you’re more likely to catch them!

I hope y’all recover quickly and smoothly, and the boys stay negative!! ❤️

Get well soon, and I hope your symptoms will be mild!

I was more annoyed when I got it back in March 2022, after avoiding it for 2 years.

I caught it at one of two social gatherings in town, as some of my drinking pals who attended one or both events got it too!

We just had to grin and bear it, stick 2 fingers at Covid, and enjoy life as near to pre-Covid normal as possible.

DK :))

Thank you! Yes to be honest I am shocked the kids didn;t pick it up at school sooner given how contagious it is right now. I have to say, so far I am feel pretty good, sore throat lasted one night, headache is already minimal. I think hubby might have it afterall, just notcied his face is a bit swollen, which I can't seem to find much info on. Trust him to have some rare symptom!

prayers outgoing

Thank you =)2

I had convinced my self that we must have gotten it at some point without realizing, feels surreal to finally have it after so much precautions for so long.

So true, life must go on!!

Wishing you and your family a speedy and full recovery @sugarcloud

Hope it passes uneventfully. It got me too, after 2 years of avoidance. From my boss at work, no less!

Sending well wishes your way for you and your family. My husband had it and I still haven’t gotten it, despite also working in a middle school Petri dish … errr, I mean classroom

Hope you feel better soon! This virus is so strange and I think we are still learning a lot about it. I got it in February along with my son, and my husband did not get it despite the fact that we were all living together and I was symptomatic by the time I tested positive so we did not bother isolating from him. Then in June he got it randomly and I was really worried about being reinfected but we weren’t! At that point we were in a cramped apartment abroad so no isolation again from him. Then three weeks ago I had 10 people over for my son’s birthday which was mostly family members. One family member tested positive the next day and I think she was the source because she recently traveled. Five more people popped up positive after that. Those who tested positive had never had it before. I tested myself five times since then and still no reinfection. I’m glad your symptoms are mild and hopefully the fact that you have it will give you a little bit of a feeling of “freedom“ in that it might be a while before you can get it again! I know I felt that way once it finally got me.

We finally had it in June - daughter brought it back from school. I had been secretly thinking I must be some kind of super healthy mutant to have avoided it so long.

Fever and felt rough for three days and was in bed. Very tired and run down for a week. Lingering fatigue and cough for a month. Still don’t feel 100% to be honest.

Fingers crossed you feel better ASAP!

Sincerely hope it comes & goes as soon as possible with minimal suffering. Eventually people who don’t get it will be the minority. My hubby too, was tested positive yesterday & in self isolation atm. So far, I am the only one left in the family......all 3 adult children got it one after another.

Get well soon

Positive healing vibes sent your way for a speedy and complete recovery.

I too just over Covid. I somehow avoided it for the last 2 years, despite working in medical…. Only to get it in June.

I feel ya :( this new variant is SO contagious. I hope you feel better soon!

I wish you and your family a very quick recovery! So many people we know have it - this new variant is traveling like wildfire....

Hope you have a quick recovery and it doesn't spread through the family entirely! I feel like everyone has it right now.

My 7 year old has had it twice now. The first time was about 3 weeks after she was fully vax'd, the second time was in June about ten days after she was boostered. DH, DS and myself did not get it either time and DS wasn't vax'd the first time and was only half vax'd the second time (he just turned 5). It's like she's a COVID magnet. It was super mild each time. A couple hours of a fever, coughing a few times and that was it.

Ugh. Sorry to hear this, hope you're all better soon. Paxlovid is very effective. We've all managed to avoid the virus, but my daughter-in-law got it immediately after a trip to England. My son is still covid negative, surprisingly. He's seen a lot of patients with it.

Wishing you a mild illness & speedy recovery!

Mr T tested positive 2 weeks ago. He isolated pretty much in another room straight away, but was symptomatic by the time he tested & we were sharing a bed etc. I still haven't caught it & like @Slickk I work in a Primary School (kindergarten), so I am amazed i'm still dodging it.

I did have a really sore throat the week before Mr T tested positive, but as I was still in school I had to rapid lateral flow test, which were all negative. Bizarre!

HI:

Covid the gift that keeps on giving  . Be well as possible folks.

cheers--Sharon

So sorry you are sick! I've just now got over my first time having it. It was pretty awful. Prayers for your family to have slight cases.

Sorry you got the nasty thing, I wish you well..my unvaccinated neighbor just got it end of last week for the first time...I head out for vacation in 3.5 week, I am going to get my 2nd booster, I realize it wont protect me that much but it sure as heck cant hurt.

Thank you so much for all of your kind words =)2

Feeling pretty crummy today, but compared to how other people have suffered with covid I'd say I'm cruising. xxx

Oh no! I hope you all recover quickly.

I hope you and your daughters have a quick recovery.

It always sucks to hear of anyone getting covid. thus far my parents have remained covid free, and I hope that continues. my husband has too which is weird...lol he never caught it from me.

I hope your families healing is non eventful! This version seems to be the mildest yet.

I too, along with my whole household finally got Covid. my husband and I can’t taste or smell, so it doesn’t matter what we eat. Nothing tastes good. My grandson who is 3 1/2 years old has it and is so crappy, it is unbearable.
I am a school nurse and never caught it . Now, my son in law brings it home and we are all sick.
